The History And Development Of Handwriting From Prehistoric Times To 1925, Lyel M. Hess

Graduate Thesis Collection

This subject was chosen as it is one which the writer teaches in the Junior High School. As it has been allotted such a short time on the week's program, the question arose whether it is worth while to continue the teaching of handwriting. This necessitated the investigation of what handwriting experts think. The study which provided the first three chapters was for the purpose of supplying additional background for any writing teacher.

Temperature Influences Of Lake Erie, Robert W. Schloemer

Honors Papers

It is a generally accepted fact that large bodies of water exert a decided influence on the climate and on the cultural development in the immediate vicinity. Just how much and at what times this influence is most felt has always been more or less a matter of conjecture. There are many variables which force themselves into the picture to the extent that it is difficult to determinate which one is at work at a particular time. Among these variables might be mentioned distance from the lake, elevation of land above the lake, angle of incidence of the sun's ray, …

We have tried to discover every enterprise of Christian education that has been undertaken by the Disciples in Indiana since they first entered the state.

A Critical Study Of Scribal Errors In The Book Of Jeremiah In The Light Of The Septuagint, David C. Pellett

Graduate Thesis Collection

For the sake of a better understanding of the subject for investigation it is necessary to begin with some general remarks regarding "The Book of the Prophet Jeremiah".  In the Hebrew Bible this book bears the simple title "Jeremiah", indicating the subject of the work rather than the author.  As for the author, or rather authors, there are three possibilities: The first possibility is that some, and perhaps most, of the book was written by Baruch at the dictation of Jeremiah.  The second possibility is that parts of the book were written by Jeremiah himself.  The third possibility is that …
