Generalized Dissociating Gas Flow, Paul D. Arthur, Allen J. Schwalb
Space Congress® Proceedings
A generalized approach to the one-dimensional flow of a dissociated gas is presented. The flow is characterized by the flow parameters F, G, H, and I, and the degree of dissociation, which are defined. The equation of state and the equations for the dynamic and thermodynamic properties of the gas are presented for the dissociating gas. Equations are presented which give the aerothermodynamic flow properties as a function of the degree of dissociation, the frozen flow Mach number MF, and the initial values of G, H, and I for any arbitrary given flight condition. An improved, reliable method for removing residual hypergolic propellants from Apollo propulsion systems is described .
Vapor phase decontamination provides improved efficiency with lower residual contaminant levels , and requir es less time and solvents than liquid flushing . The development and evaluation of this new method is discussed.

Procurement procedures for today's space programs require a new, creative approach somewhat different from the procedures used in the procurement of military items.
In military procurement we are now involved in new concepts such as "total package procurement, " "life cycle costing, " and "contract definition . " Some of these new concepts are proving to be highly successful , while others are being questioned . However , they all share one commonality -- a cradle-to-grave sequence.
In contrast to military procurement, space procurement presents a new set of problems caused by lack of experience, low volume production, unknown environments. …
