Occupational Therapy Doctorate Capstone Posters

My capstone was completed at NeuroRestorative, a Neuro community-based setting that provides Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and speech-language pathology. The purpose of the ALE and Capstone Project is to develop and implement a weekly tai chi group within a community-based brain injury setting that incorporates tiered modifications to address varying cognitive and physical abilities. The program is designed to promote improved overall functional participation while reducing periods of downtime and inactivity among participants. I Am God's Masterpiece: Ministry For Adults With Idd, Raegan M. Wilson

Occupational Therapy Doctorate Capstone Posters

This capstone project was completed in collaboration with Parkway Ministries in Corbin, Kentucky. My Applied Leadership Experience (ALE) took place in a community-based faith setting and focused on the ACOTE areas of Program Development, Education, and Advocacy. As part of a collaborative project to develop an inclusive Vacation Bible School (VBS) for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), my individual focus was supporting caregivers through education, resource development, and community engagement. A needs assessment and literature review identified caregiver burden, social isolation, limited educational resources, and reduced access to support services as common challenges for caregivers of adults with …

Art 399 Portfolio Final, Ansley M. Singer May 2026

Art 399 Portfolio Final, Ansley M. Singer

Professional Practices (ART 399)

What inspires me to make my work is my quirky personality and how my mind works. I want people to understand that art does not have to look perfect or that the artist is not good enough. Personally, I have never really felt good enough to be an artist, and I continue to question why I am an art major. My mental health has been a really important part of my art. I use art to work through my emotions. Using clay helps me show the way I want to communicate to people about my art. Nothing has to be …

Hotspot Analysis Of Nitrate And Arsenic Concentrations In Minnesota Well Water, Jadyn Keeler May 2026

Hotspot Analysis Of Nitrate And Arsenic Concentrations In Minnesota Well Water, Jadyn Keeler

Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Showcase

Water contamination is one of the biggest threats to water supply and can have long term human health consequences. It is key to identify vulnerable regions to develop better management strategies. This project utilizes hotspot and outlier geospatial analysis to locate areas across Minnesota with elevated levels of nitrate and arsenic in well water and better understand potential factors that might be influencing this. Statistically significant hotspots and cold spots were identified with up to 99% confidence. Hotspots of nitrate were located mainly in the south-central region while hotspots of arsenic were located primarily in the western and south-central portions …

Mapping Information Literary To The Medical Curriculum, Ella Hu, David Stewart May 2026

Mapping Information Literary To The Medical Curriculum, Ella Hu, David Stewart

Posters

Medical school accreditation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) requires library staff to be responsive to educational needs. Despite a move toward integrated learning, library instruction is often limited to single sessions early in the curriculum. Curriculum mapping addresses this by providing a systematic analysis of program courses to visualize teaching priorities and the student experience. This strategic tool enables librarians to shift from reactive service to proactive engagement, finding high-impact courses through syllabus analysis. Furthermore, aligning the ACRL Framework with medical education standards, such as AAMC Core EPAs and ACGME requirements, is essential for identifying instructional gaps …

Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) started in 1993 in Boston. Currently MLP’s have been established in over 450 health care institutions in 49 states. Patient Legal Support (PLS) began in August 2009 and is a collaborative effort between Corewell Health East (then Beaumont Health system) and Lakeshore Legal Aid. Modeled after Boston Medical Center’s Family Advocacy Program, PLS provides educational training to health care providers, helping them recognize legal issues that affect the health of their patients, refer patients with legal problems, and improve their own advocacy skills.

How Medical Education Reframes Perceptions Of Substance Use Disorder: A Study Of Evolving Student Attitudes, Eva Neueunschwander, Cameron Davidson May 2026

How Medical Education Reframes Perceptions Of Substance Use Disorder: A Study Of Evolving Student Attitudes, Eva Neueunschwander, Cameron Davidson

Posters

According to the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), in 2022 about 50 million people had experienced a substance use disorder (SUD) in the past year.1 Despite the alarming prevalence of SUD, stigma remains a major barrier to seeking and obtaining high quality treatment. Understanding how medical students view SUD and how perceptions change across their educational journey is essential for improving patient care. While previous studies have investigated SUD stigma among medical students, the effect of study year on attitudes remains largely mixed and unclear.2 This project compares attitudes across educational levels to understand how medical training influences …

The Library As A Partner In Wellness: A Curated Resource Collection For Medical Students, David Stewart May 2026

The Library As A Partner In Wellness: A Curated Resource Collection For Medical Students, David Stewart

Posters

Medical education involves intense stress; 82% of students experience high distress, facing higher rates of burnout and mental illness than the general population2,3. This is often attributed to a medical culture prioritizing technical efficiency over humanistic care1 . Medical libraries are uniquely positioned to bridge this gap, as students perceive them as safe, confidential communal spaces2 . Despite this, only 18% of U.S. medical libraries currently offer dedicated wellness resources2 . To address this, Narrative Medicine, the engagement with patient stories, has emerged as one way to foster narrative competence1 . These interventions improve clinical connections and self-perspective, helping students …

Recycling 3d Printing Waste In The Binghamton University Makerlab, Kevin Tejera May 2026

Recycling 3d Printing Waste In The Binghamton University Makerlab, Kevin Tejera

Library Research Scholars Program Spring 2026

3D printing is an important part of many university makerspaces. However, it comes with negative environmental consequences, including polylactic acid (PLA) filament waste. Currently, the MakerLab at Binghamton University has no closed-loop recycling system, leading to large quantities of used filament being sent to landfills, where it contributes to greenhouse gases and microplastic production.

This research project looks at the feasibility of an in-house PLA filament recycling program by examining the mechanical recycling process, cost/equipment needs, contamination issues, available space, and the effect of repeated recycling on the filament. An economic analysis will be completed through a break-even analysis and …

Professional Practices (ART 399)

Over the years and with lots of considerations photography relating to landscape and nature are crucial to what I as an artist and photographer want to work with. These four photographs were a way for me as an artist to have free range on what I wanted to capture. Not only did I have free range with what I wanted to capture but as well as how I wanted to capture my photographs. At first glance it just seems that there are four photographs of trees. The point is not to just look and see trees but to look and see …
