Professional Practices (ART 399)

The National Library of Medicine reports that 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused

before the age of 18, and 81% of women in substance abuse detox centers report sexual abuse in their earlier years. Throughout my work I showcase the naivety and innocence of girlhood and how it can be tainted into hypersexuality and addiction in adult life.

With my work, I express difficult feelings and scenarios through a childlike, girly,

and whimsical lens. In scenarios of child sexual abuse and early addiction, there is a complicated combination of guilt, nostalgia for a time that never really existed, and …

Transforming Experience Into Practice: A Portfolio Of Growth, Identity, And Leadership, Ana I. Loli May 2026

Transforming Experience Into Practice: A Portfolio Of Growth, Identity, And Leadership, Ana I. Loli

Graduate Student Portfolios, Professional Papers, and Capstone Projects

This professional portfolio documents the integration of my academic learning, practicum experience, and personal transformation throughout the Master of Social Work program at the University of Montana. Drawing from trauma‑informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive frameworks, I demonstrate competency across micro, mezzo, and macro levels of practice, with particular emphasis on ethical decision-making, ADEI engagement, community assessment, policy analysis, research-informed practice, and collaborative leadership. Through narrative reflections and applied artifacts—including case analyses, simulated clinical sessions, community-based research, organizational evaluation, and leadership implementation—I illustrate how meaning, context, power, history, and possibility shape my approach to social work. This portfolio highlights my development …

Professional Practices (ART 399)

The works displayed were all created with the rural aspects of my life in mind. Each of these pieces are personally significant but more important than that, they serve as a mental bridge for anyone who grew up in the country. The mudpie is a childhood past time for so many children who grew up on farms, having fun with what materials they had available to them. The heroic form serves as a decorative object, with the form developed from the idea of a seated hummingbird feeder. This unique form, floral design, and simple color palette elevate the surface of …

Information Access And Correspondence Education For Incarcerated People, Evan J. Pasco May 2026

Information Access And Correspondence Education For Incarcerated People, Evan J. Pasco

Library Research Scholars Program Spring 2026

Having quality access to education is an important factor in improving outcomes for incarcerated individuals, which includes higher employment rates and reduced recidivism. Unfortunately, incarcerated learners face many barriers when attempting to participate in these educational programs, such as high cost, censorship, and institutional restrictions. Despite the importance of continuing education, limited centralized information remains available on it or the obstacles that affect participation.

This project focuses on the broader information landscape for incarcerated learners, particularly examining correspondence education programs in the United States. This research includes an analysis of common barriers in accessing education, a review of scholarly literature …

Irregular Warfare, Part One: Updating The Term And The Toolkit, Jocelyn Garcia, James Giordano May 2026

Irregular Warfare, Part One: Updating The Term And The Toolkit, Jocelyn Garcia, James Giordano

Strategic Insights

Irregular warfare (IW) is evolving in response to advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. This commentary is about how IW should no longer be understood solely as violent conflict between state and non-state actors, but as a broader spectrum of kinetic and non-kinetic activities operating across cognitive, informational, cyber, and sociopolitical domains. AI is amplifying influence operations, disinformation campaigns, cyber activities, and cognitive targeting by increasing their speed, scale, accessibility, and deniability. AI-enabled irregular warfare can also degrade public trust, weaken decision-making, and undermine military readiness and allied cohesion. There is a need for updated definitions, clearer strategic …

B.A./B.S. Practicum Group Exhibit (ART 499)

My ceramic works explore stress, masking, and how they affect the body over time, in addition to what can be considered the true self, and how society reacts to it. They all feature an element of abstract, twisting flesh.

Reliquary uses it as a very literal interpretation of inner beauty, turning flesh and bone into an ornate vessel, playing with the parallel of the human body as a vessel for the mind. It also poses the question of what makes up a person, by contrasting the corporeal flesh and bone with a mask- like face–are we the physical body itself, …

Introduction To Computer-Aided Design Using Solidworks® : A Structured Approach To Parametric Modeling And Design Intent, Swapnil Moon May 2026

Introduction To Computer-Aided Design Using Solidworks® : A Structured Approach To Parametric Modeling And Design Intent, Swapnil Moon

Open and Affordable Textbooks

This textbook introduces computer-aided design (CAD) using SOLIDWORKS® through a structured, design-centered approach that emphasizes parametric modeling and engineering reasoning. Rather than focusing solely on software commands, the material develops foundational skills in design intent, constraint-based modeling, and feature relationships to create robust, adaptable models.

The content is organized progressively, beginning with basic sketching and feature creation and advancing to complex part modeling, assemblies, motion studies, and engineering drawings. Each chapter builds upon prior concepts, reinforcing systematic modeling practices and promoting the development of system-level thinking required in real-world engineering design workflows.

Designed for undergraduate students with little or no …
