Nursing bedside handover (NBH) strategies as a nursing practice is often implemented at the patient’s bedside to improve communication safety during the shift change. This practice is vulnerable due to inconsistent application among nurses. This staff education Doctor of Nursing Education project consisted of interviews with staff to explore the barriers to successfully implementing a bedside nurse handoff approach in an intermediate care unit and introducing a staff education program to increase staff knowledge of NBH. Business owners are particularly concerned because frequent staff departures can disrupt operations, increase training costs, and ultimately threaten business profitability. Grounded in Herzberg’s two-factor theory, the purpose of this qualitative pragmatic inquiry study was to identify restaurant owners’ effective retention strategies in Birmingham, AL. This qualitative study explored the experiences of U.S. military veterans seeking peer-to-peer support for mental health services after COVID-19. The study investigated how veterans perceive the role of peer-to-peer support in addressing mental health challenges, particularly in the context of social isolation, anxiety, and other COVID-19 related stressors. Using semi-structured interviews, data were collected from veterans who sought peer-to-peer support services after COVID-19. Church attendance rates have decreased for evangelical churches over the last decade, with the most notable decline among millennials. This decline is attributed to millennial shifts away from traditional views and new understandings of identity. Metabolic syndrome is increasing in prevalence in the United States. To be diagnosed, three of the five diagnostic criteria must be met. There is a higher risk of metabolic syndrome due to lifestyle and social factors, with increased criteria occurring as an individual has unmet social determinants of health. This quantitative quasi-experimental/quasi-comparative study examined the association between education level, with sleep quality and depression as moderators, on a diagnosis of metabolic syndrome with all five criteria versus three criteria using a binary logistic regression while controlling for age, race, gender, income, employment, and marital status. Opioid misuse and overdose continue to pose a significant public health crisis in the United States, particularly among patients with a history of substance use disorder (SUD). This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project aimed to improve healthcare staff knowledge regarding the safe and effective prescribing of opioids for pain management in patients with a history of illicit drug use. A staff education program was implemented at an outpatient clinic and evaluated using a pretest/posttest design with ten participants.
