The thesis is concerned with a study of the effectiveness of literature of high literary and moral standards used as bibliotherapy with high school students to effect a change of personal and/or social attitudes , as evaluated by statistical measures. The study lies in the major field of Educational Research and Services, and in the minor field of English and Library Science. Bibiliotherapy attempts to use the influence of characters, ideas, situations, and information in literature as a means of presenting patterns and standards of behavior and evaluation. The purpose of this study is to conduct an intensive investigation of the lichen flora of the Wasatch Mountains in central Utah. The approach followed is that of compiling into one account keys, descriptions, illustrations and ecological notes of lichens that are found in this region of the state.

A Comparative Study Of Crotaphytus Holbrook (Iguanidae), Wilbur Gerald Robinson

The anterior myology of Crotaphytus wislizeni and C. collaris is described in detail and a statistical analysis is made of the differences in the relative bone sizes, and the number of eggs per clutch, as well as other taxonomic characters previously applied to these species. The significant differences found with respect to the shape of the skull, that of the body, and the character of the hyoid are correlated with muscular development and habits of the two species. The descriptive material is accompanied by detailed myological and osteological illustrations of C. wislizeni. Comparative notes are made on C. reticulatus which …

An Investigation Of Solvent Extraction Techniques In The Determination Of Formation Constants Of Complex Species In Aqueous Silver Chloride Solution, David Martin Bodily

Solvent extraction techniques have been used to determine formation constants for molecular silver chloride and dichloro silver (I) ion in unsaturated aqueous solutions. Nitrobenzene was used to extract the molecular silver chloride from the aqueous silver chloride solution. The total concentration of silver in each phase was determined by radioassay techniques and related by an expression involving the equilibrium constants. The reciprocal of the distribution ratio times the activity of the chloride ion was plotted versus the activity of the chloride ion and portions of the curve were analyzed by the method of least squares to obtain values for the …
