Some Effects Of Intravenous Administration Of Juglone To Anesthetized Dogs, John P. Ries Jan 1967

Some Effects Of Intravenous Administration Of Juglone To Anesthetized Dogs, John P. Ries

Theses and Dissertations

Juglone (5-hydroxy 1:1; napthoquinone), a chemical substance originally isolated from the walnut tree, has not been investigated to any great extent. Preliminary reports revealed that juglone had depressant effects on a number of species of laboratory animals when administered intraperitoneally and was lethal in large doses. The present study was undertaken to elucidate some of the pharmacological properties of juglone when administered intravenously to anesthetized dogs.

Twenty-six adult mongrel dogs were subdivided into three groups. The animals were anesthetized with sodium pentobarbital and infused with the juglone solution through the femoral vein. Two groups of ten each received 3 xng/kg …

A Study Of The Attitudes Of Latter-Day Saint Seminary Students Toward Certain Church Standards Of Dress And Conduct, Alfred Lawrence Pace Iii

Theses and Dissertations

Standards of dress and conduct of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are presented to the youth in a variety of ways. Although these standards are all important, the seminary youth do not consider them to have equal relevance in their own personal lives; for they are concerned with particular standards, in particular ways, and at particular times. While some attempts have been made to solicit their views pertaining to such standards, most studies to date have not dealt with material which has been published and made available to all of the youth of the Church. Since teachers …
