The Voyage Of Consciousness In People, Deborah M. Rogers

Theses

The Voyage of Consciousness in People explores the complex, layered development of human consciousness through a psychological and spiritual framework rooted in transpersonal and yogic traditions. Deborah M. Rogers presents consciousness as a dynamic process, best understood as a "voyage" through a spectrum of internal experiences and developmental stages. Drawing heavily on Eastern philosophy—particularly the chakra system of Tantric Yoga—she maps human awareness across seven levels: Physical, Affect, Effect, Mental, Ego, Transpersonal, and Pure Consciousness. Each level correlates with one of the seven major chakras and includes a progression through seven depths or "bands" of consciousness, adapted from Ken Wilber’s …

A Colorimetric Investigation Of Color Tolerances, Scott Stamm

Theses

The study was conducted to determine the relationships between a standard color and its visually chosen limits. The Allen Chart, used extensively by package printers, provides a standard of the color to be reproduced along with corresponding light and dark limits. A second form of tolerance chart, used by printers of U. S. Department of Transportation hazardous materials warning labels, provides limits for colors three dimensionally. Both types of tolerance charts were used in this study. Three Department of Transportation tolerance charts were measured spectrophotometrically producing a …

Awareness And Growth In An Art Therapy Practice, Gong Shu Sep 1979

Awareness And Growth In An Art Therapy Practice, Gong Shu

Theses

This culminating project explores the role of awareness in personal growth within the context of art therapy. Drawing from phenomenological psychology and Taoist philosophy, the author argues that every individual possesses an innate potential for self-actualization, which can be fully realized through heightened awareness. However, various psychological and cultural blocks—such as repression, trauma, social conditioning, and attachment to past or future experiences—often obstruct this awareness, impeding personal growth and creative functioning.

Art therapy is proposed as a dynamic method for reestablishing awareness by bringing unconscious or suppressed emotions and experiences into explicit focus through the creative process. The paper emphasizes …

The Myth Of Death And Rebirth: Its Manifestation In Contemporary Psychology, Randy Ring

Theses

The thesis, "The Myth of Death and Rebirth: Its Manifestation in Contemporary Psychology," explores the pervasive concept of death and rebirth across historical, religious, and psychological contexts.
