Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti konsep i،ja:z al-Qur’a:n dan secara khususnya i،ja:z baya:niyy, menghurai perhubungan yang terjalin antara struktur ayat bahasa Arab dan disiplin ilmu i’ja:z al-Qur’a:n dan menganalisis surah Maryam. Kajian dijalankan menggunakan metodologi kualitatif berasaskan teori-teori i،ja:z al-Qur’a:n, ilmu ma،a:ni:, konstruksi (nazm al-Qur’a:n) dan analisis wacana. This research addresses the rhetorical aspects in the Holy Qur'an as interpreted by al-Zamkhshariyy in his Tafsīr al-Kashshāf, and at the same time it is comprised of the different kinds of Elucidation (ʿIlm al-Bayān), aspects of semantics (ʿIlm al-Maʿānī), and arts of figures of speech (ʿIlm al-Badīʿ),which has been addressed by al-Zamkhshriyy in Sūrah al-Baqarah. Tujuan utama penyelidikan ini dijalankan adalah untuk melihat sejauh mana keberkesanan pembelajaran koperatif (PK) di dalam pengajaran Bahasa Arab program j-QAF dapat meningkatkan pencapaian murid dalam menguasai Bahasa Arab. Datadata yang diperlukan dalam kajian ini diperolehi melalui ujian pra dan pos, pemerhatian dan soal selidik terhadap 40 orang murid yang merupakan sampel kajian. Proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran (P&P) dijalankan selama 2 bulan iaitu sebanyak 8 kali pengajaran menerusi kaedah yang dikaji. It has been proven that attitudes and motivation are important for a learner in second language learning. This study explores the attitudes and motivation of international undergraduates who are non-native English speakers towards learning English in universities of Malaysia. 64 undergraduates from three different universities in Malaysia are chosen as participants. Gardner's Socio-education Model (2005) is used as the framework in this study. The use of questionnaire as an instrument in this study was adapted from Gardner's AMTB (2005). This study investigates variations in the linguistics realization of the speech act of refusal in Persian language. It also aims at exploring the role of two social variables; namely ‘social distance’ and ‘power’ in the production of refusals. The data were collected using ethnographic observation, and were both field noted and recorded wherever possible. The results yielded 208 acts of refusals. These refusals were classified according to the refusal classification semantic formulae proposed by Beebe, Takahashi, and Uliss- Weltz (1990). The first was to indentify children’s patterns of thought on proper fractions, improper fractions, and meanings of division based on languages, verbal and actions when they attempted to give meanings to fractional situations. This thesis proposed a new distribution to model under-, equi- and overdispersion in count data. It arises as a particular case of a modified random walk on the plane, and includes the binomial, negative binomial and shifted negative binomial as special cases. Some properties, test of hypothesis for equi-dispersion, simulation study of power, parameter estimation by maximum likelihood and a squared distance method based on the probability generating function are considered. The proposed distribution is compared with existing distributions like the COM-Poisson and generalized Poisson for modelling dispersion. This study that adopts the comparational analysis method was aimed to look into the scenario of football news language usage in Spanish and Argentinian media. Three printed media for each country were selected based on their physical circulation statistics, while the analyzed corpus was obtained from their online versions. Marca.com, As.com and MundoDeportivo.com were chosen for Spanish side while Ole.Clarin.com, Clarin.com and LaNacion.com for Argentina. The study investigates the problematic English coda consonant clusters which Arabic speakers have in pronouncing English. This investigation involves a constraint-based analysis of interlanguage syllable structure within the optimality framework to see how the native language (NL) interferes in L2 pronunciation. The study presents an analysis of interlanguage (IL) syllable structure and answers a question in how NL interfere in Arabic speakers articulation of ESL syllable structure. It also investigates the effective role of the markedness of the forms in contributing to such difficulty in pronunciation. This research report investigates the morphological processes used in forming neologisms found in the Malaysian English media. The morphological processes adopted in this study are based on Murray’s (1995) list: affixation, compounding, reduplication, conversion, borrowing, acronymy, clipping, blending, onomatopaeia and antonomasia. 70 Neologisms are selected from The Edge weekly and their word classes are analysed from a quantitative approach. The classification of the samples is based on their contextual meaning in the source (The Edge weekly newspaper). The morphological processes of the samples collected are analyzed qualitatively.
