Objectives: To develop a candidate vaccine aginst the Sphingobacterium spiritivorum . Methods: Since there is currently no vaccine against this pathogen, we employed in-silico methods to extensively explore the outer membrane toxin-producing proteins found specifically in S. spiritivorum to forecast a multi-epitope chimeric vaccine design. This computational study was conducted in Saudi Arabia in 2022 (study design: computational; ethical approval not applicable). Results: TThe vaccine peptide comprises multiple linear and conformational B-cell epitopes, which have the potential to elicit humoral immunity. Smoking is a global health challenge that causes a myriad of diseases. Smoking cessation services are part of the armamentarium to combat smoking epidemic. In addition to the approved treatments, alternative therapies, including electrical stimulation, have been proposed. The aim of this study is to review and summarize the evidence for the efficacy of electrical stimulation, including Silver Spike Point therapy, in smoking cessation. A historical background and descriptive summary of various acupuncture and related therapies is provided. Systematic reviews and original studies were reviewed, and their results were summarized. Objectives: To evaluate LDL-C control in patients within 6 months after hospitalization for ACS in Saudi Arabia. Methods: This multicenter, prospective, observational registry evaluates LDL-C control in patients within 6 months after hospitalization for ACS in Saudi Arabia between December 2017 and October 2019. The study aimed at recruiting 170 patients and data were collected retrospectively at baseline and prospectively at 2 subsequent visits. Results: 201 patients were included at baseline, 193 completed the 3-month visit and 186 completed the 6-month visit. Objectives: To examine the association between the number of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and physical activity (PA) in older adults visiting primary healthcare centers (PHCCs) in Jizan, Saudi Arabia. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on men and women aged ≥60 who visited PHCCs, Jizan City between June and September 2021. Objectives: To evaluate the compliance with standard precautions in healthcare workers who experienced a sharps penetrating injury or mucosal exposure using the compliance with Standard Precautions Scale, Turkish version. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in a tertiary hospital. The occupational health and safety unit records of healthcare workers who were injured by a sharps penetrating injury or experienced mucosal exposure between January 2018 and July 2020 were examined. Objectives: To improve the local data and demographics of foreign body (FB) ingestion in the Makkah, Saudi Arabia and to provide basic statistics for future studies in the local community. Methods: We carried out a record-based retrospective epidemiological study of 153 pediatric patients with FB ingestion who presented to our center in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, between December 2014 and December 2019. Objectives: To measure the prevalence of low self-esteem among medical students in Saudi Arabia and determine its impact on their behaviors and academic achievement. Methods: We hypothesized that the level of self-esteem reflected on the student’s academic performance and linked to some of their behaviors. A cross-sectional study was carried out among students of the medical colleges in Saudi Arabia. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed electronically using social media platforms, socio-demographic data, Rosenberg’s self-esteem scale, and a questionnaire about self-esteem-related behaviors. Methods: A search was conducted using EBSCO, Medline, PubMed, Google Scholar and Web of Science as well as international guidelines using MESH terms for treatment of UDCA for diseases of the upper gastrointestinal disorders in adult humans without regard to publication language or date restrictions. Approximately 25% of all pediatric consultations are due to respiratory conditions, 10% of which are for asthma. Regarding prevalence, bronchiolitis, acute bronchitis, and respiratory infections are other leading pediatric respiratory illnesses. Compared to the aforementioned diseases, pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome (PARDS) is rare but lethal in the Intensive Care Unit patients. According to global studies, the mortality in PARDS ranges from 13.3% to 60.7%. Objectives: To investigate levels of pentabromodiphenyl ether (PBDEs) in breast milk samples from healthy mothers who had lived in Riyadh for the last 5 years. Methods: In this cross sectional study, 75 samples were collected and were extracted, cleaned by solid-phase extraction (SPE) and PBDEs analysis was done using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Results: Total PBDEs (∑PBDEs) ranged from 0.2 to 3.6 ng/g lipid weight (lw). BDE-47, -153, -99, and -209 were the dominant congeners. Methods: This descriptive research included 2 hundred cardiac patients, whom were in the Medipol Mega University Hospital, Istanbul, during the period between May 2018 and May 2019. Objectives: To assess frequencies of various management approaches in cardiogenic shock (CS) and their clinical outcomes. Cardiogenic shock is a state of organ hypoperfusion and hypoxia caused by cardiac failure. Methods: In this retrospective record review, we assessed the presentations, vital signs, laboratory readings, and treatments for 188 consecutive CS inpatients from 2010-2021. Patients were labeled as “ischemic CS” or “non-ischemic CS” based on the occurrence of myocardial infarction as the precipitating cause, and “post-operative CS” if they had undergone cardiac surgery. Methods: In this retrospective analysis, the data for all cases of GCTs were collected from 1990 to 2020. Statistical analyses were carried out using JMP software. Objectives: To provide an updated estimate to the prevalence of pediatric hematological malignancies (HMs) in the Al-Madinah Al-Munawwara, Saudi Arabia. Methods: This is a retrospective study that was carried out between 2016 and 2022. The study population was comprised of 171 children under 16 who had been diagnosed with HMs. The data was compiled from King Salman Medical City’s Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Saudi Arabia. Objectives: To investigate the influence of viability assessment in the management of patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM). Methods: This retrospective cohort study included all patients with ICM with moderate to severely reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) who underwent viability assessment using cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and echocardiogram as modalities of imaging. In addition, LVEF, modality of choice, and treatment plans were all extracted as main variables from the electronic database. Objectives: To identify patients who are at risk for a first cardiovascular event, mitigate the risk, and institute early intervention. The triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein-C (TG/HDL-C) ratio has been found to be a very useful biomarker for directing treatment and prevention therapy. Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study included adult patients (aged >18 years) experiencing first-time acute coronary syndrome (ACS). We examined all patient databases for a definite diagnosis of angina, non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), or ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
