The main purpose of this study was concerned with the relationship of hymns to services in the church. The author sought to answer the question, "What are the hymns that should be used for a certain service in the Church Year?” This would have to be explained from both a theological and musical viewpoint. "The knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of refractories is of great importance in determining their usefulness and application. The thermal expansion of refractories is of particular importance in that it affects the thermal stability of the product. A high coefficient of thermal expansion leads to greater spalling and destruction of the bricks in use. It is, therefore, desirable to develop compositions having low coefficients of thermal expansion. A Preliminary Investigation Of Natural Gas Combustion As Applied To Thermal Recovery Of Petroleum, Roger J. Schoeppel

"Present application of the subsurface combustion processes in the thermal recovery of petroleum afford favorable and opportune methods of providing greater recoveries from petroleum reservoirs. This study attempts to elucidate some of the parameters controlling the complex hydrocarbon oxidation for one such process. The experimental phase consisted of investigating the combustion behavior of eight nonexplosive and one explosive natural gas-air mixtures at low and intermediate pressures. The hydrocarbon was allowed to oxidize by self-ignition under controlled conditions within environments precluding a visible flame type reaction. Progress of the reaction was followed by measuring effluent oxygen content.

"This investigation is the result of the author's specific interest in two phase systems. In the past, considerable work has been done investigating the alteration of eutectoid structures; however, eutectic structures have been neglected to a great extent. Tammann did some work on the subject in 1937 as did Brown and Guy in more recent times. In both of the above cases the eutectic structure was altered by cold working and subsequent heating of the alloy.

"This report presents the results of detailed mapping of the geology of the northwest quarter of the Washington Quadrangle, Missouri. Extensive mapping and stratigraphic work have been done in St. Louis and St. Charles Counties to the east and in Callaway and Boone Counties to the west.
