This study investigated the variables measured by the verification scale of the Kuder Preference Record-Voca tiona l and the falsification scale of the GuilfordZimmerman Temperament Survey. Responses of an experimental group of Protestant seminary students were compared with those of a control group of general psychology students. These groups were shown to be different in self-perceived values and attitudes, as defined by results on the Allport Vernon Lindzey Study of Values and the Guilford-Zimmerman Temperament Survey, with the experimental group presenting the more altruistic outlook. To a certain extent the everyday incidents of life occur in a chaotic and orderless fashion. But in such an unpredictable world people must predict such events even if they present themselves at random. This suggestion by Restle (1961) is especially relevant to an experiment by Pattie (1964a) in the area of human binary prediction. This study seemed to indicate that individuals search for and believe in orderly, predictable solutions in apparently orderless, random situations. No data have been discovered determining exactly why or when the first homeroom originated. In a study by Galen Jones published in 1935, it was reported that there were two homerooms introduced between 1875-1879; two in the period 1900-1904; three, in 1905-1909; and nine in the period from 1910-1914. From then on the growth was rapid.

The object or this work was to develop a procedure for the quantitative determination of solanesol in the petroleum ether extract of tobacco. The amount of tobacco extracted into petroleum ether is routinely used to differentiate tobacco types. The extraction procedures have been extensively studied by the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists (AOAC) and reported in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Technical Bulletin # 1186.
