The purpose of this study was to determine whether the years of nursing experience of inpatient registered nurses" was associated with higher levels of sepsis screening accuracy for hospitalized elderly patients after an educational intervention. Accurate sepsis screening is key to early sepsis diagnosis, treatment, and positive outcomes.

To evaluate the demographic characteristics of adult and pediatric patients seeking care for neurological disorders, a three-month cross-sectional survey of consecutive inpatients and outpatients seeking neurological care at a tertiary referral hospital in Kenya was conducted. The findings will support development of future research and interventions to promote care outcomes.

Using best available nationally representative data, we produce annual estimates of injury incidence for older adults for 2004 to 2017: (1) all-cause fatal and nonfatal injury, (2) fatal and non-fatal falls, (3) fatal and nonfatal injuries due to non-fall causes, and (4) minor and serious nonfatal injuries.

Adverse effects and the quality of the DNA collected challenge the suitability of saliva-extracted DNA. Deliberate self-harm (DSH) is an intentional behavior of direct destruction or cutting of body tissues which causes non-fatal physical trauma to the extent that bleeding occurs or causes a bruise to appear and without conscious suicidal intent. Globally, delirium affects about 80% of critically-ill patients. Little is known about how nurses care for patients with delirium in Africa. Hence this study obtained a better understanding of nurses" experiences of caring for intubated patients with delirium and created awareness of the factors that help or impede their care.
