Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMAD) have profound negative effects on women, infants and families. Little is known about awareness of PMAD among at risk women and their utilization of mental health services. Results from 2 focus groups (n=25) comprised of minority low-income women are presented.

Nearly 80% of African American (AA) women of childbearing age report themselves to be overweight or obese. While the strongest predictor of excessive gestational weight gain is pre-pregnant weight, other contributors to racial differences in weight gain, such as gut microbiome composition, are now being examined.

Delirium affects patient outcomes, nursing care, and costs an estimated $164 billion per year worldwide. Identification of delirium significantly increased after education and implementation of the Confusion Assessment Method screening tool. Delirium education combined with the use of the CAM is effective in identifying delirium accurately in medical floor patients.

The intent of this study was to determine the effects of playing bingo game in the cognitive level of older adult with dementia. Result showed that out of the six parameters used in the study, "memory, thinking, orientation, language and command" showed improvement while "comprehension" has no improvement.

Participants will gain knowledge about 'vicarious posttraumatic growth' which involves positive changes in the life of a nurse due to caring for patients who were traumatized. The quantitative portion uses the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory and the Core Beliefs Inventory. The qualitative portion employs six open-ended questions eliciting description of experiences.

The greatest obstacle to Advance Care Planning (ACP) is initiating the difficult conversation about death and planning for the end that is culturally sensitive and patient-centered. Poor end-of-life communication skills, lack of relationship building skills, and time constraints were the highest rated barriers to ACP. Improving outcomes will be discussed.

This ex-post facto quantitative study explored the relationship of GPA, HESI V1 scores, gender, cohort, semester, and hours of remediation on scores of HESI V2. Guided by general systems theory, multiple regression was used to predict the percentage of variance associated with each of the predictor variables.

This longitudinal, mixed methods study assessed the cultural competence and perceptions of 40 nursing students who attended a study abroad experience in one of four countries to determine changes in cultural competence levels, how sustained those findings were, and to identify factors that influenced the development of cultural competence.
