Contributions to student learning from nursing faculty member and staff nurses are equally important in clinical education. Data was collected with the Collaboration in the Clinical Learning Environment (CCLE) Scale. 882 participants responded comprised of staff nurses, nursing faculty members, and nurses who worked in academia and practice concurrently.

A study conducted in 2017 analyzed quantitative data comparing 2 groups of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and their attitudes to suicide, the tenth leading cause of death nationally. This presenter examines qualitative data, comments made by APRN participants in the study, to raise awareness and foster prevention of suicide.

This presentation contributes to clarifying one potential source of workplace bullying tenacity: bullies' bi-strategic control tactics. Simultaneously engaging in pro-social and aggressive actions to exert control bi-strategically, bullies may exact and sustain their damaging influence over others. This study illustrates how through this control, bullies contribute broadly to wokplace dysfunction.

This qualitative research was a collaborative project with faculty in the UK and the US to explore and compare the theory-practice link with beginning nursing students. A unique tool (ZMET) was utilized to guide the interviews of study participants, and interpretive hermeneutic phenomenology provided the framework for interpretation of data.

The World Health Organization regards IPE as one of the most promising strategies to achieve effective collaborative practice in healthcare settings. This presentation discusses the implementation and evaluation of IPE in the graduate nursing program. The results show improvement in the students' collaborative and teamwork competencies through IPE.

Tailored sexual risk reduction interventions for teens can be guided by formative focus group data. Results of three separate studies with US and Scottish teens identified similar risk and protective behaviors and concerns across sexually active and abstinent teens. Themes identified that differed by gender concerned safety and sexual gratification.

In a Photovoice project, male students and nurses described their call to nursing, the experience and meaning found in their work. This information may improve recruitment efforts and better focus education.

Over a period of 59 months two ICUs were reviewed, comparing the incidence of pressure injury (PI) development for acute adult SCI patients placed onto a spinal stabilization table (SST). Control group used original SST seat hatch cushion, experimental group used a substitute cushion with significant results, zero PI development.

The effectiveness of a hybrid interprofessional educational (IPE) experience using the veteran population as an exemplar was examined. Pre- and post- course measurements were collected over four consecutive semesters. Changes in students' views toward IP teamwork, community centeredness, and professional biases were observed with intermediate to large effect sizes.

After a nursing research study identified readmission risks/causes following kidney transplant, an academic-practice partnership facilitated the implementation of a nurse-led intervention study employing educational materials and teaching methods congruent with linguistic preference and educational level. Findings support engaging registered nurses in efforts to improve outcomes in a vulnerable population.

The purpose of this clinical quality improvement project was to minimize the number of red blood cell transfusion units in adult critical care patients while maintaining optimal physiological hematologic outcomes. Comparison of pre-intervention with post intervention data reveals fewer transfusions can maintain hematologic integrity without complications.
