This presentation describes a masters' entry program in nursing students' perspective of a poverty simulation, "Community Action Poverty Simulation" learning experience. The descriptive thematic analysis demonstrated that students developed an empathetic connection with those living in poverty.

This analysis of pediatric patient portal use demonstrates parent proxies and adolescent patients' portal use was for secure messaging, making appointments, and reviewing laboratory results. While adolescents were significantly more likely to view laboratory results than parents, overall they are less likely to activate accounts, indicating barriers to use exist.

This collaboration between a medical mission team and a community service organization in the country of Guatemala addressed a United Nations developmental goal concerning safe drinking water. After the installation of clean water filters in two rural Guatemalan villages the percentage of infections was found to have decreased.

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) affect 1 in 5 women nationally, making these disorders the most frequent complication of childbirth. In this descriptive, correlational cross-sectional research study of 105 postpartum women, the relationships between depressive symptomatology, stigma of PMAD and social support are described.

Identifying factors within the Department of Veteran Affairs' Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) program that may contribute to nurse practitioner (NP) retention and decrease provider gaps and primary care disparities for veterans. A phenomenological study was done to extract the meaning mothers ascribe to their hospitalized antepartum bed rest experiences. Fifteen semi structured interviews were done with seven themes emerging. The overarching theme of Vulnerable Captivity was discovered and upon application to each theme, evidence of a vulnerably captive state was identified.

Attitude towards induction of labor is important in healthy delivery, this was examined in this study. Attitude found was positive indicative that these patients are well disposed towards induction. This is related to the provision of health education to patients. Thus health education is a necessity in promoting patients' disposition.
