Immigrants hope their pre-immigration expectations for a new life will be 'realized' post-immigration. Findings show that for adult immigrants (n=377), work-retirement status (working in the same occupation, working in a different occupation or being retired) has an interactive effect with 'realized' expectations on health status.

Deformational plagiocephaly (DP) is the most common head shape abnormality in infants, and has become more prevalent in infants and has significantly increased since 1992. This study describes obstetrical, neonatal and pediatric nurses' self-reported knowledge, practice, and provision of parental education regarding DP and discharge instructions for its prevention.

The relationship between menopausal changes in brain bioenergetics, cognitive activity, and vasomotor symptoms (VMS) will be detailed. VMS were effectively stimulated in symptomatic women through cognitive activity. Activation of the anterior cingulate nucleus and corpus callosum was noted during VMS with functional MRI. Implications will be discussed.

This qualitative research explored the partnerships occurring between long-term peritoneal dialysis patients and nurse educators. Four themes and ten sub-themes emerged from seven individual patient and nurse interviews. Each partnership was unique, evolved over time, and was characterized by exposure, personal rapport, and the necessity of working together.

Among the non-pharmacological measures to minimize physiologic and behavioral reactions on newborns exposed to pain, one is the music. It is relevant to investigate the effect of music intervention when applied in two different time extensions on bio-behavioral responses of pain in full-term newborns during venipuncture for blood collection.

Acute Care Nurses' Spiritual Well-Being And Spiritual Care Perspectives: Predictors For Provision Of Spiritual Care, Barbara J. Kitchener

This study investigated how acute-care Registered Nurses' spiritual well-being (SWB), and spiritual care perspectives (SCP) relate to their provision of spiritual care (SC). Findings revealed nurses with high SWB and positive SCP provided regular SC with ease and confidence. Implications exist for clinicians, nurse educators, researchers, and policy makers.
