Quality Bedside Shift Report Data: Hit Or Miss, Eileen Deges Curl, Kaushik Ghosh, Mary Goodwin, Keili L. Peterman

Bedside shift report (BSR) can lack standardization and compromise patient safety. A descriptive study was conducted to examine the quality of data identified for the BSR process. Sixteen nurses identified critical information for a BSR based on a simulated case. Three experts evaluated the BSR data identified by the RNs.

The diffusion of responsibility occurs commonly in nursing, resulting in nurses who fail to recognize or take responsibility for unethical practices. This narrative review helps nurses to be more accountable by bridging a gap in nursing literature. Seminal examples from Milgram and Zimbardo are discussed and applied to nursing settings.

Effectiveness Of Gait Training On Gait Speed Of Elderly: A Meta-Analysis Of Rcts, Huei-Ling Chiu

Gait training has a moderate effect on gait speed. Subgroup analysis and meta-regression indicated that the effect size of the age score was the most crucial indicator. Gait training can help the older people obtain the greatest possible benefit in health promotion and disease prevention.

This study provided 240 staff nurses in low acuity settings with a tool kit of items they could use when feeling stressed at work. Subjects reported decreased stress after using the tools. Over time, resilience scores increased, subjects used the tools more frequently and for longer periods of time.
