This work describes the effect that the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (never events) had on the positive relationships found between Magnet designated hospitals and nurse sensitive patient outcomes. In brief, these positive relationships were not sustained with the changes in Medicare reimbursement.

U.S. and Chinese nurse educators' collaborative research involving two quantitative descriptive studies. One examines knowledge and identified perceived barriers of Chinese nurse educators regarding development and implementation of simulation-based experiences, and the follow-up study focuses on gaining an understanding of Chinese nurse educators' and nursing students' perceptions of simulation implementation.

Uncertainty In The Medically-Managed Patient With Coronary Heart Disease, Donna K. Garrett, Karen L. Saban

The relationships among uncertainty, perceived control, and self-management were examined in 71 coronary heart disease patients. Analysis revealed lower levels of uncertainty predicted higher levels of self-management (belief) and perceived control. Greater levels of perceived control predicted greater self-management (attitude). Minimizing uncertainty and promoting perceived control help patients self-manage CHD.

International, English-language literature reporting outcomes of regulation of pre-licensure RN education was examined, mapped, and summarized to elucidate available evidence regarding the outcomes of such regulation. Five categories of outcomes emerged. Most, but not all reported outcomes were positive and lacked objective measurement. Further research is strongly recommended.

Our study can investigate cardiopulmonary endurance associated effect factors and predictors, specifically age, gender, disease severity, BMI, dyspnea, respiratory muscle strength, lower extremity muscle strength, and lower limb muscle endurance.
