Petrology Of North Mississippi Bauxite : A Case For Depositional Bauxite And Kaolin, Charles Nelson Thompson
Petrology Of North Mississippi Bauxite : A Case For Depositional Bauxite And Kaolin, Charles Nelson Thompson
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
In the past 55 years, there has been considerable debate over the stratigraphic position, genesis, and economic value of North Mississippi bauxite. The aluminum rich deposits are unlike most deposits found around the world. The deposits are associated with 200-300 foot thick marine to nonmarine clays overlain by feldspar poor, fluvial-deltaic sediments. The possible source areas are composed of limestone, marls, sand, and muds ranging in age from Late Cretaceous to Late Paleocene. These factors prohibit the direct application of previous theories derived from studies outside Mississippi. The deposits, therefore, cannot be considered a textbook example of bauxite formation.

Food Habits And Growth Of Rainbow Trout In A Prairie Pond, Ronald Marvin Koth
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) were introduced into Lower Abbey Pond, South Dakota, at a stocking rate of 772/ha in June 1977. Sampling was begun in January 1978 to determine food habits and growth of the fish. Trout and environmental samples were taken at 10 day or monthly intervals depending upon the season. A linear index of food selection was calculated and growth data was analyzed using the SHAD computer program. Food habits were determined for 159 rainbow trout collected from January 1978 to October 1978. Stomachs contained a total of 5,700 food organisms with major constituents by number being notonectids …

Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The design and development of a microprocessor-controlled mathematics trainer is described. The trainer is designed primarily for a blind student, and uses synthetic speech to verbally present mathematics problems in the form of incomplete mathematical sentences. Several options give the teacher flexibility in pacing the student. In addition, the teacher can create individualized problem sets or choose from many predefined problem sets, arranged in order of difficulty.
