Limiting Application Access To Sensitive Data And Resources Through Use Of A Sensitive Data Sandbox, Russell Quong
Limiting Application Access To Sensitive Data And Resources Through Use Of A Sensitive Data Sandbox, Russell Quong
Defensive Publications Series
This publication describes techniques and apparatuses to limit access by a software application to sensitive user data (e.g., contacts, location, biometric data, photos). When a user installs or initially uses an application, the application may request permission to access user data, along with system resources (e.g., global positioning satellite (GPS) data) and particular hardware (e.g., microphones, cameras). Depending on the permission request, the user and the operating system (OS) may be unclear whether the data, resources, and/or hardware is needed by the application most of the time, some of the time, not needed at all, or whether the request is …

Defensive Publications Series
Presented herein are techniques for providing security to networks operating in accordance with the 400ZR standard. Currently, there is no specification relating to how traffic should be encrypted and authenticate by this standard. In addition, the techniques presented herein support the possibility of encrypting and authenticating every single 100GBASE-R or 200GBASE-R stream when they are mapped inside 400ZR. GMP-Sec can be used in any application which relies on the Generic Mapping Procedure (GMP), with the only recommendation that client rates must be lower than 0.21% of container frequency. Moreover, the techniques presented herein can be applied to the Optical Transport …

To Implement Mini-Fan On Mice For Adhering Onto The Tilt Surface, Hp Inc
To Implement Mini-Fan On Mice For Adhering Onto The Tilt Surface, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
In general, mice able to work on any surface including tilt surface but what cannot be done is to
leave the mice on the surface with tilt angle as it will slip.
The concept here is to have mice that able to adhere to the tilt surface while not operating it for
a short while or power is still on and not placing it on horizontal surface.
To achieve this concept, angle detection sensor and fan must be implemented as a control loop
in order for the fan to rotate base on the defined angle range for creating vacuum force …

System Approach To Compensate The Brightness Non-Uniformity Of Local Dimming Display, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
This invention discloses a new system approach to compensate the brightness non‐uniformity of
local dimming display. An accumulator is in between GPU and display panel to keep accumulating
the loading of each zone. When the compensation is triggered, the accumulated loading is feedback
