Mouse That Creates A Trust Relationship With A Pc So If Any Other Mice Are Detected And Attempting To Be Used While The Primary Mouse Is Active Then Only The Primary Mouse Is Recognized., Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure relates to the field of creating a mechanism for the priority use of a PC mouse which enables a parent or teacher to take control of the mouse pointer on a child or students PC. In Special Education we run across issues such as involuntary hand movements, button presses, and incorrect actions performed by students during a lesson. Many teachers find little hacks around some of the issues. However, none of the solutions solve the whole stack of problems. We aim to solve that.

Phosphoric(P) Free Chemical Polishing Solution On Al Anodizing Chassis, Hp Inc Apr 2024

Phosphoric(P) Free Chemical Polishing Solution On Al Anodizing Chassis, Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

Aluminium anodizing has been used for finishing aluminium housings for electronic devices such as laptop computers and mobile telecommunications devices such as tablet devices and mobile telephony devices such as smartphones.

The whole aluminium anodizing process comprises three steps, pre-treatment, anodizing oxidization, and post-treatment. A key step in pre-treatment is chemical polishing. Chemical polishing a preparation step of anodizing the surface of the housing before the first anodizing step. The step is a selective-dissolution process, in which the high points of a rough surface of aluminium are attacked more rapidly than the depressions, and the peaks and valleys are smoothed …

Targeted Video Selection Using Llm-Guided, Interactive Semantic Search, D Shin Apr 2024

Targeted Video Selection Using Llm-Guided, Interactive Semantic Search, D Shin

Defensive Publications Series

Video search interfaces enable users to enter keywords or phrases in a search box to search for videos. However, when initial search results do not meet the user’s needs, users have to re-initiate the search with a modified set of keywords with corresponding new results, which is inefficient and does not utilize information from the previous search. This disclosure describes techniques that enable users to perform interactive video search with iterative use of a large language model (LLM) to identify matching search results. If initial query results are unsatisfactory, the user can provide additional clarifying input in the search box. …

Using Target Wake Time To Mitigate The Effects Of Scanning On Latency In Wifi, Ahmed Elarabawy Apr 2024

Using Target Wake Time To Mitigate The Effects Of Scanning On Latency In Wifi, Ahmed Elarabawy

Access Control Based On Entire Request Path, David Challoner Apr 2024

Access Control Based On Entire Request Path, David Challoner

Defensive Publications Series

A technique is proposed for signaling when a request path leaves the permissible regions by considering the entire request path as an authorization signal. A data access controller, after receiving a data access request, can determine whether the requested data is subject to regional limitations. If the data is subject to such limitations, the data access controller determines whether each device of the request path is within permissible regions of applicable data controls. The data access controller can also use a device inventory database to apply additional controls based on the characteristics of devices in the request path. If a …

This disclosure describes a mechanism to control and optimize power consumption for audio playback in a battery-powered device with minimal impact …

Facilitating Fast Emergency Wi-Fi Access In An Openroaming Environment, Malcolm Smith, Scott Ross Blue, Matthew S Macpherson Mar 2024

Facilitating Fast Emergency Wi-Fi Access In An Openroaming Environment, Malcolm Smith, Scott Ross Blue, Matthew S Macpherson

Defensive Publications Series

Wi-Fi 7 has introduced the Emergency Preparedness Communication Service (EPCS) in support of End-to-End (E2E) Multimedia Priority Services Communications (MPS), which provides preferred or prioritized channel access (PCA) over public/private Wi-Fi networks in emergency service (ES) or enhanced 911 (E911) scenarios. While EPCS may be useful in providing a priority/Quality of Service (QoS) in ES/E911 scenarios, the service does not address challenges of fast access to a wireless local area network (WLAN) in certain environments, such OpenRoaming environments. This proposal provides techniques through which OpenRoaming can be extended to support EPCS in a straightforward manner that can improve service access …

Print Copy Identifying Traits And Secure Binding, Hp Inc Mar 2024

Print Copy Identifying Traits And Secure Binding, Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure introduces a set of identifying traits, that is defined and securely recorded when a print is sold. These identifying traits give a buyer an accurate representation of what the printed copy will be and provide details that can later on be verified on the physical copy by the buyer. If the printed copy doesn’t match what was originally defined, the buyer can challenge the seller and prove discrepancies. This is especially useful when the source design is sensitive and shouldn’t be revealed to the buyer: enough information must be provided so the buyer knows what they are buying, …
