Contextualized Graph Neural Network For Node Classification

Defensive Publications Series

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have been widely adopted for graph-structured data analysis. However, the performance of standard GNN models often suffers when applied to heterophilous graphs, where connected nodes tend to have dissimilar labels. This paper introduces the Contextualized Graph Neural Network (CGNN), a novel GNN architecture that enhances node representation learning by explicitly modeling the context of each node. CGNN uses a context encoding module to capture contextual information, followed by an adaptive message-passing mechanism, and finally a context-aware aggregation module. We provide a detailed algorithm and a Python implementation using PyTorch. Experimental results on benchmark heterophilous graph datasets …

Adaptive Relational Graph Network

Defensive Publications Series

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have demonstrated significant potential for learning from graphstructured data. However, their performance often degrades on heterophilous graphs, where linked nodes exhibit dissimilar features. In this paper, we introduce the Adaptive Relational Graph Network (ARGN), a novel GNN architecture designed specifically to handle heterophily. ARGN utilizes a relational attention mechanism to capture complex relationships between nodes, coupled with an adaptive neighborhood selection strategy to dynamically identify relevant neighbors. Multi-hop information propagation is then used to enhance the node representations. We provide a detailed algorithm and implementation of ARGN using PyTorch. Our experiments on several benchmark heterophilous datasets …

Adaptive Neighborhood Graph Neural Network For Graph Learning

Defensive Publications Series

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have become a powerful tool for processing graph-structured data. However, standard GNNs struggle when applied to heterophilous graphs, where connected nodes tend to have dissimilar features. In this paper, we introduce the Adaptive Neighborhood Graph Neural Network (ANGNN), a novel GNN architecture that learns to adaptively select neighbors for each node based on their feature similarity. ANGNN uses a weighted aggregation mechanism after neighborhood selection for robust representation learning on heterophilous graphs. We provide a detailed algorithm and implementation of ANGNN using PyTorch. Experimental results on several benchmark heterophilous datasets demonstrate that ANGNN significantly outperforms standard …

Correlation Model To Isolate Transient Inter-Degree Fiber-Faults In Roadms, Anonymous Feb 2025

Correlation Model To Isolate Transient Inter-Degree Fiber-Faults In Roadms, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure introduces a site-level correlation model designed to isolate physical fiber faults—especially transient or intermittent breaks—in cascaded MPO (Multi-Fiber Push-On) cables within ROADM networks. The key innovation uses bi-directional power monitoring rather than pilot tones or specialized FIM (Fiber Interface Module) hardware. By correlating simultaneous Loss of Signal (LOS) events at multiple Rx ports with the corresponding Tx ports that remain active, the method reliably identifies actual physical cable or connector faults. A fault-counter mechanism further tracks repeated toggling events, enabling operators to prioritize specific cables for inspection or replacement. This passive, vendor-agnostic approach simplifies network infrastructure, reduces unnecessary …

Wired Through Bha Hfto Damper With Center Electrical Connection, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

High frequency torsional oscillations (HFTO) is a severe problem in drilling system including a bottom hole assembly (BHA) , in particular with a rotary steerable system (RSS). It is related to drilling hard and dense formation with PDC drill bits. HFTO can be prevented with damping that is applied to the critical HFTO-modes of the drilling system. The damping that is achievable for a damping element is largest when the damping element is placed at the bit and decreases with distance from the drill bit. Therefore, a placement of a damper within the BHA and close to the drill bit …

This OLID proposes a new concept or extension to mitigate critical drill string vibrations based on a fluid-particle mixture. The proposed new damper consists of a fluid-particle mixture that may be enclosed in a cavity within a component of a bit, BHA or drill string. The combination of a viscous fluid with particles enables dissipation processes or energy transfer caused by friction, shear-forces within the fluid, elastic and inelastic shocks as well as by the viscous suspension of fluid, the fluid-particle interaction and the fluid-particle-wall interaction. In contrast to conventional dry particles or fluid-only dampers, the presented damper shows advantages …

Method For Optical Measurement Of Relative Humidity In A Fuel Cell System, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Proper membrane hydration is critical to the performance of a fuel cell powertrain, which is an important potential low-carbon energy system for future medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. However, direct measurement of relative humidity in a fuel cell gas stream is complicated by multiple factors. First, the sensor must be able to operate within an environment with elevated temperature and pressure. Additionally, the de-ionized water used in such systems can leach metals and is therefore not compatible with all materials. Finally, the sensor must not only be accurate, but must have sufficient time resolution to capture important transient information from the …

Carbon Dioxide Battery Electrode Wetting Diagnostic, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

This publication discusses a rapid, real-time, scalable and form-factor agnostic diagnostic of lithium-ion battery wetting. By monitoring gas emission from a chemical reaction that is a surrogate for liquid electrolyte contact with electrode material, the extent of wetting can be inferred as a function of time. For instance, lithium carbonate spontaneously reacts with lithium hexafluorophosphate to produce carbon dioxide gas. Lithium carbonate is a surface-segregated species on cathode active material that is left as a byproduct of synthesis. It coats and penetrates the secondary particle aggregate structure of cathode material. Lithium hexafluorophosphate is the state of the art, primary salt …
