Magnetic Hotspot Detection Device, Baker Hughes Company Feb 2025

Magnetic Hotspot Detection Device, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

Current magnetic inspection is performed only on new parts for directional tools. This holds true in particular for tool collars. In addition, the minimum distance between the directional magnetometers and specific regions of potential magnetic interference are defined such that the risk for magnetic interference is controlled. Placing the magnetometers closer to those regions holds cost saving potential in capitalization and operations cost, but it also requires improved QA processes on magnetic properties during inspection. The equipment used for the inspection is large and costly and therefore does not exist in many locations of the world. We propose simplified devices …

Bug Viewer: A Faceted Container For Study Of Arthropods Such As Insects And Spiders, And Other Similarly Sized Observations Of Living Organisms And Dynamic Structures, Patrick Cleary

Defensive Publications Series

This invention provides a method for quickly and precisely observing and measuring arthropods while minimizing harm and damage. With estimates of as low as only 12% of all arthropods discovered (including insects and spiders, commonly referred to as “bugs”), a need exists to enhance efficient capture and documentation, for this scientific effort of ecological discovery. Methods of capture often involve capturing and permanent storage that kill the organism; thus, for rare specimens presents an ecological and scientific risk, as well as moral hazard.

A Retrieval-Augmented Generation (Rag) And Large Language Model (Llm)-Based Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Coder Agent For Software Development Kits (Sdks) And Frameworks, Hem Dutt

Defensive Publications Series

Software development kits (SDKs) and frameworks are critical to software development as they provide a collection of pre-written code, libraries, and tools that allow developers to create applications more efficiently. Although Large Language Models (LLMs), when combined with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques, have shown remarkable potential in code generation, applying LLMs and RAG to generate code for SDKs and frameworks remains challenging. For example, computer code is inherently structured and often relies on precise relationships between various elements. Misinterpretation or loss of these relationships can lead to incomplete or incorrect code generation. SDKs and frameworks compound this challenge by introducing …

Mapping Table With Bloom Filter To Improve Ssd Unaligned Write Performance, Jun Tao, Wuzi Gao

Defensive Publications Series

An increase in the mapping table unit size without corresponding increases in the size of the host logical block address unit size results in a size mismatch that can cause a data write operation to be unaligned between the LBA and a solid-state drive. The read-modify-write operations to deal with unaligned write requests can take a relatively long time, resulting in a large performance drop. This disclosure describes techniques to improve the performance of unaligned data writes to SSD storage by employing a smaller Indirect Unit (IU) table on top of the original IU table in conjunction with a Bloom …
