Apparatus, System, And Method For Performing Multi-Wavelength Infield Imaging Based On Low-Index Waveguides For Eye Tracking, Jon Bills Mar 2025

Apparatus, System, And Method For Performing Multi-Wavelength Infield Imaging Based On Low-Index Waveguides For Eye Tracking, Jon Bills

Defensive Publications Series

To enlarge the field of view (FOV) in an artificial reality device, we propose a multi wavelength solution which essentially use two different wavelengths and each wavelength will cover a separate portion of the FOV which was tiled in the camera. However, due to the the grating diffraction, there will have ghost imaging. The ghost imaging will decrease the SNR and cause confusion for the algorithm. To address the ghost imaging problem, we propose 1)to use a dual channel camera so that information from different wavelengths can be separated. 2) one may apply time sequential imagining for each color. For …

Apparatus, System, And Method For Generating Circular Fringe Projections For Profilometry-Based Eye Tracking, Jon Bills Mar 2025

Apparatus, System, And Method For Generating Circular Fringe Projections For Profilometry-Based Eye Tracking, Jon Bills

Defensive Publications Series

We propose a new projector design to generate circular fringe projector for eye tracking. The projector consists of a collimated laser source, a Pancharatnam-Berry phase (PBP) lens, and a linear polarizer. The PBP lens splits incident linearly-polarized collimated laser beam into a converged(diverged) right-handed circular polarization(RCP) beam and a diverged(converged) left-handed circular polarization (LCP) beam. The 2 beams interference generates linear polarization angle distribution along radial direction. The linear polarizer convert the radial linear polarization angle distribution to radial light intensity distribution, which is a circular fringe.

Assembly Of Thermo-Electric Coolers With An Attach Featuring Nanowires, Baker Hughes Company Mar 2025

Assembly Of Thermo-Electric Coolers With An Attach Featuring Nanowires, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

Thermo-electric coolers (TECs) are used in electronics (e.g. Multi-Chip-Modules) to cool sensitive parts such as sensor elements and memory ICs. TECs use the Peltier effect to create a heat flow between pellets of two different types of materials. For example, pellets made out of n-type and p-type conducting materials (semiconductor pillars) can be used as the cooling elements. Low voltage (<10V) TEC designs require a large number of individual pellets (>100) with very small attach areas (0.4mm x 0.4mm). Current TEC designs use a solder attach to connect the pillars both to hot and cold side of the assembly.

This disclosure describes techniques that leverage machine learning models to infer implicit or unmentioned timestamps in a comment on a video and to automatically generate links to the timestamp. Per the techniques, the video is divided into chunks. Each chunk is embedded into a feature space. The comment is optionally broken into segments and each segment embedded is into the same space. Comment segments and video …

Fanless Part-Cooling System For A 3d Printer Hotend Using Ionic Coronal Discharge (“Ionic Wind”), Sharaf Mahmood Mar 2025

Fanless Part-Cooling System For A 3d Printer Hotend Using Ionic Coronal Discharge (“Ionic Wind”), Sharaf Mahmood

Defensive Publications Series

Part cooling is essential in 3D printing to ensure proper solidification of extruded material (e.g., PLA, PETG, ABS), particularly for materials requiring rapid cooling to maintain dimensional accuracy, minimize stringing, and prevent sagging. Traditional cooling methods rely on mechanical fans and often require complex ducting to optimize airflow around the nozzle, ensuring consistent cooling across different printing orientations and speeds. As 3D printers become faster and use higher accelerations, reducing the weight of these hotends is becoming more important.

This disclosure presents a novel fanless part cooling system for 3D printers using ultra-high voltage (10 kV – 50 kV) to …

Visualization Of Data Via Hierarchical Grouping And Aggregation, Gabriel Horvath

Defensive Publications Series

A hierarchical grouping operation request is received indicating an attribute of the dataset. Records of the dataset are grouped together that have a common value and visually presented as a unified record. A statistical aggregation value of the respective unified record is calculated. Three-Dimensional Mesh Editing Using Masked Large Reconstruction Models Feb 2025

Three-Dimensional Mesh Editing Using Masked Large Reconstruction Models

Defensive Publications Series

We present a novel approach to mesh shape editing, building on recent progress in 3D reconstruction from multi-view images. We formulate shape editing as a conditional reconstruction problem, where the model must reconstruct the input shape with the exception of a specified 3D region, in which the geometry should be generated from the conditional signal. To this end, we train a conditional Large Reconstruction Model (LRM) for masked reconstruction, using multi-view consistent masks rendered from a randomly generated 3D occlusion, and using one clean viewpoint as the conditional signal. During inference, we manually define a 3D region to edit and …

Automated Live Debugging Using Real-Time Data Processing, Nivetha B, Santosh Rathod

Defensive Publications Series

In a customer service call center, when an issue is reported by a customer, a SR (service request) is logged. Often, additional logs are needed to resolve the SR; typically, an engineer connects with the customer over a live maintenance window (MW) to address the issue. Solving an issue can also be quite long or can involve scheduling multiple MWs before a root cause is identified. Thus, issues with maintenance windows, scheduling such windows, and potentially having multiple customer interactions to fully address an issue can impact a company's ability to provide quality service to the customer. Techniques to address …

Smart Scaling, Positioning, And Cropping An Image To Achieve The Desired Size And Placement Of A Subset Of The Image, Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

This document presents a new method for smart scaling, positioning, and cropping of images for printing. The approach uses internal image components for sizing, rather than overall image boundaries, to achieve precise dimensions in a single print. A program allows users to select a sub-portion of an image for accurate physical sizing using a calibrated printer. The process eliminates the traditional trial-and-error method, ensuring accurate results. Additionally, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) enhances user experience by automating region selection and following human language instructions for complex layout options.

Optimal Well Trajectory, Directional, Survey And Static Load Monitoring, Baker Hughes Company Feb 2025

Optimal Well Trajectory, Directional, Survey And Static Load Monitoring, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

The static deflection of the BHA in the borehole is a function of the survey and borehole geometry. The survey is determined by the directional measurement. The directional measurements can be sag-corrected to increase the accuracy. Sag correction is a correction of the directional measurement with respect to the static solution. That means the static solution depends on the survey and the directional measurement depends on the static solution.

The method proposed is an iterative determination of the survey and the static solution until the failure of both with respect to each other and with respect to the measurements is …
