Operation Control With Respect To Gel Content In Drilling Mud While Drilling, Baker Hughes Company Mar 2025

Operation Control With Respect To Gel Content In Drilling Mud While Drilling, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

Drilling muds are often designed to build a gel to prevent cuttings from sinking. The gelled mud requires a higher pressure drop to circulate, so there should be special procedures for flow rate control with respect to gel content. Both the rates of gel building and gel breaking significantly impact on these procedures. The evaluation of gel parameters ensures safety and enables optimization of performance.

Underbalanced Coiled Tubing Azimuthal Gamma-Ray Tool, Baker Hughes Company Mar 2025

Underbalanced Coiled Tubing Azimuthal Gamma-Ray Tool, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

The company requires an azimuthal coiled tubing service for applications in Khuff Carbonates in KSA where sequences of cyclic carbonate-evaporite deposits with reservoirs from a few ft to tens of ft thick are very challenging to navigate. Wear Indication For Downhole Tools Hardfacing Application, Baker Hughes Company Mar 2025

Wear Indication For Downhole Tools Hardfacing Application, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

Determination of the amount of wear on a downhole tool’s body at the rig site is necessary for certain downhole tools in order to decide if the measurement instrument needs to be re-calibrated. A slot with steadily increasing depth (tilted slot) is suggested to replace the previously used series of holes of different depth. By making the slot long enough, i.e. the angle shallow, the problem of gauging small depth differences is transformed into a relatively coarse measurement of length differences. Said method can for example be applied to all nuclear logging while drilling (LWD) tools, especially the gamma density …

Automated Distributed Denial Of Service Defense And Quality Of Service Classification Techniques For Internet Of Things Events, Chandra Ganguly, Alec Hothan, Ujjval Shah, Sachin P Raut

Defensive Publications Series

In an Internet of Things (IoT) environment, large IoT processing pipelines can potentially receive events from a very large number of devices and, in some instances, can receive abnormal bursts of events that can degrade overall operations service level agreements (SLAs) if not handled properly. Such abnormal bursts may be caused by one or more rogue devices, or by malicious external actors, but can be difficult to detect and protect against due to the potentially very large number of devices (up to ~100 million or more) that may be present in an environment. To address such issues, techniques are proposed …

Rig-Site Rerun Recommendation System Based On Real-Time Load Records, Load History And Part-Number-Specific Maintenance Criteria, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

An early (while downhole and before pull out of hole) rerun recommendation was identified as a driver of cost saving because no/less back-up tools are required at drilling sites.

Evaluation of the maintenance needs according to established event-based-maintenance criteria indicates the depth of maintenance the assets would undergo in an AMO (Assembly, Maintenance and Overhaul) workshop. Under the assumption that low-level maintenances may be postponed, existing event-based-maintenance criteria can be reused as lay-down criteria - until a specific set of rules is identified.

Stability Enhancement Of Mesalamine Delayed-Release Tablets 1.2g, Anonymous Mar 2025

Stability Enhancement Of Mesalamine Delayed-Release Tablets 1.2g, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

Mesalamine (5-aminosalicylic acid) is widely used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis. Commercially available mesalamine delayed-release formulations, such as LIALDA (Mesalamine) Delayed-Release Tablets 1.2 g, utilize a pH-dependent polymer film, which breaks down at or above pH 6.8, normally in the terminal ileum where mesalamine then begins to be released from the tablet core, enabling controlled drug release. However, the drug release profile of such formulations has been observed to change with storage, particularly at elevated temperatures. This article presents findings from formulation studies demonstrating that incorporating sodium ascorbate or sodium benzoate as stabilizers in …

Disentangled Graph Learning

Defensive Publications Series

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have shown significant success in learning from graph-structured data. However, their performance often degrades on heterophilous graphs, where connected nodes tend to have dissimilar features. This paper introduces the Disentangled Graph Learning Network (DGLN), a novel GNN model designed specifically to learn on heterophilous networks by disentangling node features into structural and content components. DGLN uses an adaptive aggregation module and a graph reconstruction module to learn node representations and model network structure. We provide a detailed description of DGLN, including its algorithm, and implementation with PyTorch. Experimental results on several benchmark heterophilous datasets show that …

Dual-Channel Graph Neural Network

Defensive Publications Series

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have achieved significant success in modeling graph-structured data. However, their performance degrades on heterophilous graphs, where connected nodes tend to have dissimilar features. In this paper, we introduce the Dual-Channel Graph Neural Network (DCGNN), a novel GNN architecture designed to handle both homophily and heterophily by processing information through dual channels. DCGNN employs a homophily channel to capture information from similar nodes and a heterophily channel to learn from dissimilar nodes. We describe the detailed algorithm and provide a Python implementation using PyTorch. Extensive experimental results on benchmark heterophilous graph datasets demonstrate that DCGNN significantly outperforms …

Graph Transformer With Adaptive Subgraph Sampling

Defensive Publications Series

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have shown great promise in various graph-based tasks. HAGT employs relational attention to capture complex node interactions and to effectively aggregate information. We present a detailed algorithm and implementation of HAGT using PyTorch. Experimental results on several benchmark heterophilous datasets show that HAGT outperforms standard GNNs and state-of-the-art heterophilyfocused …

Model-Based Data Fitting, Baker Hughes Company Mar 2025

Model-Based Data Fitting, Baker Hughes Company

Defensive Publications Series

This invention is potentially relevant in numerous areas/services. Many services rely upon measurements, which influence real-time decision making. Often the simplest approach to smoothen noisy data is to apply linear regression (e.g. line of best fit). However, such an assumption is not always the best and may result in less than optimal interpretation of the data. The algorithm outlined here is capable of selecting an appropriate model (based on data and SME input for the particular application) to improve the fit and interpretation/description of the data.

Apparatus, System, And Method For Wide Fields Of Illumination In Eye-Tracking Applications, Jon Bills

Defensive Publications Series

To enlarge the field-of-illumination (FOI), we propose a monolithic emitter solution, where we add the beamshaping functions directly over the light emitters (LED or laser) thorough nano/micro patterning approaches. The typical LED or laser emitter may have a flat finish surface (semiconductor material or some anti-reflection coating layers). In our proposal, we consider directly patterning beamshaping components onto the coating layer or semiconductor material through semiconductor lithography and etch process. Alternative approach may pattern the beamshaping components via imprint or other additive nano/micro manufacturing processes. One advantage to this solution is that the beamshaping function can be engineered to control …
