Autochthonous leishmaniasis cases in Thailand are increasing dramatically, the disease is caused by two major of Leishmania species; L. orientalis and L. martiniquensis. Leishmaniasis is transmitted to the vertebrate hosts through the bite of the infected female sand fly. Moreover, other trypanosomatid protozoa have also been reported in this insect vector. In 2016, Trypanosoma sp. has been detected in sand fly from Songkhla province, where the leishmaniasis case has been reported. Urinary stone disease is a common urologic disease worldwide, and it is highly recurrent. Calcium oxalate (CaOx) stone is the most common type of urinary stones. The main causes of urinary stone formation include inadequate water intake, low urinary citrate excretion and increased oxidative stress. The precise information for SPR and IPR reattachment is essential for the prevention of recurrent symptom of peroneal tendon dislocation/subluxation. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the characteristics, the attachments and morphometric parameters of the SPR, IPR and the prevalence, origin and insertion of the accessory peroneal muscles, peroneal tendon tear, and related structures. Sepsis is a severe response to systemic infection and one of the leading causes of death in patients world-wide. Bacterial endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide; LPS), is a potent inducer of inflammation that has been associated with the pathophysiology of sepsis. The repeated LPS exposure can induce a suppressive effect as refer to endotoxin tolerance. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection represents a major risk factor of developing chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The clinical outcome of HBV infection depends on complex of host and virus interactions. In this study, we found that serum HBV RNA levels has emerged as a potential viral marker for active HBV infection and may be used to evaluate response to antiviral therapy and disease progression. Serum HBV RNA levels varied among different phases of chronic HBV infection (CHB). Plumbagin (PLB), a naphthoquinone compound and vitamin K3 derivative, was shown its potent cytotoxicity and anti-invasion in anti-hormonal resistant cells through the inhibition of Snail-induced epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT). Overexpression of Snail leads to decrease E-cadherin and increase of beta-catenin, resulting in the activation of Wnt pathway that increases cancer stem-like characteristics in these resistant cells. Background: The timing of initiation of renal replacement therapy (RRT) in severe acute kidney injury (AKI) remains controversial, with early initiation resulting in unnecessary therapy for some patients while expectant therapy may delay RRT for other patients. The furosemide stress test (FST) has been shown to predict the need for RRT and therefore could be used to exclude low-risk patients from enrollment in trials of RRT timing. Methods: FST was performed using intravenous furosemide (1 mg/kg in furosemide-naive patients or 1.5 mg/kg in previous furosemide users). ไมโครสปอรีน-ไลก์ อะมิโน แอซิด (MAAs) เป็นกลุ่มของสารเมแทบอไลต์ทุติยภูมิ สังเคราะห์โดยจุลินทรีย์และสาหร่ายหลายชนิด สารกลุ่มนี้มีหน้าที่สำคัญในการคัดกรองรังสียูวี และยังมีหน้าที่อื่นๆ ได้แก่ การต้านอนุมูลอิสระ ปกป้องเซลล์จากภาวะเครียด และควบคุมการออสโมซิส โดยไมโครสปอรีน-2-ไกลซีน (M2G) เป็นหนึ่งในสารกลุ่ม MAAs ที่มีความสามารถในการต้านอนุมูลอิสระมากกว่าสารอื่นๆ ในกลุ่มเดียวกัน ดังนั้นจึงเป็นที่สนใจที่จะเพิ่มการผลิต M2G เพื่อนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในอุตสาหกรรมความงาม และเวชสำอาง ในการศึกษานี้ประสบความสำเร็จในการแสดงออกของยีนในชีวสังเคราะห์ M2G (Ap3858-3855) จาก Aphanothece halophytica ในไซยาโนแบคทีเรียน้ำจืด Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942 จากการวิเคราะห์การถอดรหัสของยีน Ap3858-3855 พบว่า ยีนทั้ง 4 ยีนนี้เป็น monocistronic mRNA heterologous expression ของยีน Ap3858-3855 ใน S. elongatus พบว่าทุกยีนมีการแสดงออกมากขึ้นภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ NaCl ยีน Ap3857 แสดงออกเพิ่มมากที่สุด 2.39 ± 0.25 เท่า และภายใต้ภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ KCl ยีน Ap3856 แสดงออกเพิ่มมากที่สุด 3.70 ± 0.35 เท่า ระดับการแสดงออกของยีนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับภาวะเครียดออกซิเดชั่น (sodB, cat และ tpxA) ในเซลล์แสดงออก พบว่าภายใต้ภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ NaCl มีเพียงยีน tpxA แสดงออกมากขึ้น 4.58 ± 0.58 เท่า ขณะที่ภาวะเครียดจากเกลือ KCl กระตุ้นการแสดงออกของ sodB และ tpxA 4.09 ± 0.86 และ 11.81 ± 1.02 เท่า ตามลำดับ ส่วนการแสดงออกของยีนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสารออสโมไลท์ ได้แก่ Synpcc7942_0808 และ …

The effect of Cr content on heat treatment behavior and abrasive wear resistance of multi-alloyed white cast irons with basic composition was investigated. The cast irons with varying Cr content from 3-9% were prepared. The annealed specimens were hardened from 1323K and 1373K austenitizing and then, tempered at 673K to 873K with 50K intervals. The microstructure of each specimen consisted of primary austenite dendrite (γP) and (γ+MC) and (γ+M2C) eutectics in specimens with 3 and 5%Cr. Tuberculosis is a zoonotic disease that can be transmitted from infected animals to humans. Wild animals such as elephants and non-human primate have been reported to be infected by M. tuberculosis (MTB) complex, which can cause tuberculosis in animals as well. The common TB diagnostic approaches in human such as chest X-ray and tuberculin skin test are not practical in the elephants. Ni-W alloy and Ni-W/diamond monolayer and multilayer composite coatings were prepared by electrodeposition from a Ni-W plating bath with diamond particles suspended into the bath. Ni-W/diamond composite coatings were also prepared with varying amounts of Cobalt sulphate additives. This study synthesized amidoxime polymer gel for uranium extraction from seawater through a polymerization process with gamma ray or UV-C radiation. The synthesis started with a mixture of acrylonitrile (AN) and methacrylic acid (MAA) monomers together with methylene bisacrylamide as a crosslinker and hydrogen peroxide in the case of UV radiation. The mixture was irradiated with gamma ray at various doses or UV-C for various durations. This descriptive correlational study aimed to identify the predicting factors and to examine direct and indirect relationships of preschoolers' parental feeding behaviors (PFB), urban Thailand. The conceptual framework was developed guided by Orem's self-care theory. A Multi-stage sampling was used to recruit 443 parents of preschoolers from 11 schools in Bangkok and city municipalities in all regions of Thailand. Six questionnaires demonstrated acceptable content and construct validity, and reliability were used to ask all participants to complete all questionnaires. However, there is no suitable theory or knowledge to guide nursing practice to these women. This study, thus, employed Glaserian grounded theory to discover substantive theory on the living process of Chinese women after losing the only child. This study aimed to survey the attitudes and knowledge of Thai general dental practitioners (GDPs) in proving dental implant maintenance care. The online questionnaire was sent to Thai GDPs who graduated between 2000 and 2016. Of the returned 435 questionnaires, 429 completely filled were included for analysis. 76% of the participants were female and 24% were male. Half of the participants were aged 28-33 years old and 78% of the participants have been working as a GDP 10 years or below. Objectives: This study aimed to i) determine the kinetic changes of immune cell phenotypes, including an exhaustion marker PD-1, in spleens of murine sepsis ii) investigate the susceptibility against secondary fungal infection after sepsis, and iii) investigate the efficacy of an anti-PD-1 treatment in post-sepsis fungal infection. Aim: To evaluate the effect of disking technique and resin modified glass ionomer cement (RMGI) restoration on proximal caries of primary upper incisors in tribal preschool children, aged 3-5 years, attending child development centers of Doi Tung Development Project, Chiang Rai. Methods: Twenty tribal preschool children were enrolled in this match-paired design study. Twenty-six proximal carious surfaces were randomized for RMGI restoration (control group), and 26 proximal carious surfaces were randomized for disking technique (experimental group). Previous studies suggest that periodontitis may be associated with an increasing risk of hypertension. However, data from large epidemiological studies are limited. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to examine the association between periodontitis and hypertension using data from a cohort study in a Thai population. The study population comprised of 1,378 employees of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), aged 53 to 73 years old, were categorized into no/mild, moderate, or severe periodontitis groups.
