The “insignificant” in this thesis is not meant unimportant, but a neutral state of the subject waiting to be acknowledged by the observer. This concept is based on the theories of “everyday life,” proposed by Charles Baudelaire and Maurice Blanchot. In “The Painter of Modern Life” (1863), Baudelaire redefined art as the object of everyday, while Blanchot’s “Everyday Speech” (1959) described the everyday as something difficult to grasp yet existed along the urban streets.This thesis is the exploration into everyday lights and darkness in different architectural scales and cultural contexts. Potted plants have long served as portable, small-scale gardens for residents in Thailand, particularly in densely populated and flood-prone areas. In Bangkok, they remain a common feature of the urban landscape, reflecting both everyday life and traditional Thai culture. Cinematic architecture is a multidisciplinary approach that examines the relationship between film and architecture. This thesis explores how film offers a unique way to immerse audiences in spatial experience. Through time, movement, and visual framing, film can dramatize or reinterpret space according to the director’s vision, making it a valuable medium for understanding how architecture is perceived, used, and felt. Tropical modernism in Bangkok in the 1970s synthesized modern architectural principles with the demands of Thailand’s hot and humid climate. Various design approaches focusing on deterring the tropical sun were incorporated into the building design. In doing so, sun shading played a major role in climatic responsiveness in tropical environments. Within tropical modernism, numerous buildings with climate-responsive features have been designed by local and foreign architects, with Intaren Architects & Engineers being one of them. This research explores the architectural contributions of Swiss architect Hassan Roland Vogel (1932–1987), focusing on his interpretation of Tropical Modernism within the cultural and urban contexts of Southeast Asia from the 1960s to the 1980s. As a lesser-known yet significant figure in regional modernism, Vogel co-founded INTAREN Architect and Engineer Company Limited in Bangkok with Jean Albert Penneçot, producing a body of work that balanced Swiss precision with tropical adaptability. This study examines how architectural materiality and perceptual attributes influence human sensory and emotional experience through the theoretical frameworks of biophilia and technophilia. Focusing on two community malls in Bangkok—The Commons Thong Lo and Zone C of Marché Thong Lo—the research adopts a qualitative comparative case study approach, combining on-site observation, photographic documentation, and semi-structured interviews. The study applies an attribute-based analytical framework that categorizes architectural experience into six dimensions: material origin, sensory qualities, user interaction, visual comfort, spatial atmosphere, and emotional response. This research examines the visual homogenization of music video (MV) production among Southeast Asian girl groups under K-pop's influence—a phenomenon termed K-popization—to elucidate its localization processes within this complex, multi-layered region. It addresses three key research questions: (1) What are the characteristics of K-popization? This study employs the Situationist strategy of dérive and drawing as research tools to examine the everyday practices and spatial characteristics of Bangkok’s streets under conditions of governance ambiguity. Taking the area around Nana BTS station as a case study, the research identifies seven activity nodes formed through the aggregation of everyday practices. Through repeated path observations at different times of day, it traces the processes by which street users and vendors gather, negotiate, and interact, thereby revealing distinctive spatial patterns and rhythms of use. Recent urban transformation in the Global South, driven by globalization, commodification, and a logic of development, is producing homogenized cities and increasingly regulated public spaces. Within this context, the Bengali practice of adda (āddā), understood as prolonged informal, convivial conversation, embodies a form of non-instrumental sociability that resists commodification and control. This study examines the determinants of short and long-term IPO performance in the SET and mai market. Using samples of SET and mai IPOs from 2014-2021, the research investigates how underwriter reputation, institutional investor ownership, and big-4 auditor influence cumulative abnormal returns across time horizons. From information asymmetry, certification, and signaling theories, the study uses multiple linear regression with OLS to analyze IPO performance. Results are different between the two markets. In SET, underwriter reputation shows no certification effect across all time horizons for all reputation measures. Institutional investor ownership demonstrates no short-term impact but exhibits negative impacts with long-term …

This thesis investigates the relationship between foreign ownership and stock price crash risk in the Stock Exchange of Thailand during the period 2005 to 2024. It focuses on differentiating between direct foreign investors who hold voting shares and Non-Voting Depository Receipts (NVDRs), which provide economic benefits similar to regular shares but do not confer voting rights at shareholder meetings. Additionally, this study examines whether information asymmetry and stock liquidity moderate the relationship between foreign ownership and stock price crash risk. This thesis investigates the impact of Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU) and Climate Policy Uncertainty (CPU) on ESG momentum strategies in U.S. equity markets from 2011 to 2023. Momentum portfolios are constructed within high- and low-rated ESG pillar groups to assess how policy uncertainty influences their performance across different firm characteristics, including sectoral classification and geographic operations. Empirical analysis reveals that policy uncertainty, particularly through Forecast and News channels, significantly affects momentum returns, with the strongest effects concentrated among low ESG-rated and domestically focused firms. This study introduces a novel approach to understanding how trading volumes from individual, institutional, and foreign investors influence anomaly returns in Thailand's stock market. I integrate comprehensive analysis of seven trading friction anomalies with unique market microstructure data from the Stock Exchange of Thailand's database. This approach enables construction of long-short portfolio strategies, while accounting for the distinct trading behaviors of different investor groups during the period from 2011 to 2021.Remarkably, I discovered asymmetric effects where retail trading amplifies certain anomalies while reducing others, contradicting traditional noise trader theories. This study evaluates and compares the forecasting accuracy of ten Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) in the Thai market using comprehensive econometric and deep learning models, with Mean Absolute Error (MAE) as the primary performance metric. The research examines DCC-GARCH, CCC-GARCH, standard GARCH-type models and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks across both raw and processed data environments (from isolation forest and random forest). 0.1% Cannabidiol (CBD) was reported to be suitable as an alternative management for Recurrent Aphthous Ulcers (RAU) due to its analgesics and anti-inflammatory effects. This study aimed to examine 0.3 % CBD when compared to 0.1% CBD, 0.1% Triamcinolone Acetonide (TA) oral paste and pure oral paste in the treatment of RAU. Healthcare professionals, particularly dentists and physicians, are at high risk of stress and burnout due to long working hours, heavy workloads, clinical decision-making responsibilities, and the need for continuous knowledge updates. This study aimed to assess stress and burnout levels among Bhutanese dentists and physicians. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using online questionnaires distributed to 85 dentists and 325 physicians, with response rates of 87.7% and 52.6%, respectively. Stress was measured using the 14-item Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), and burnout was assessed with the 22-item Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Among dentists, 97.8% reported stress, with 91.8% at moderate levels. Among …

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the influence of nominal shade on the color reproducibility of CAD-CAM lithium disilicate glass ceramic crowns.Materials and Methods: An in vitro study was conducted on 16 CAD-CAM lithium disilicate crowns (IPS e.max CAD LT) fabricated in four VITA Classical shades (A3, B3, C3, D3; N=4 per group). This study aimed to evaluate the influence of printing orientation and surface treatment on the surface roughness, shear bond strength (SBS), and flexural strength of three-dimensional (3D)-printed provisional resin materials. Four printing orientations (0°, 45°, 60°, and 90°) and four surface treatments (no treatment, airborne particle abrasion (APA), tetrahydrofuran (THF), and HC primer) were investigated. A total of 320 specimens were fabricated, post-processed, and tested according to ISO standards. Objectives: This study evaluated the effects of incorporating graphene oxide (GO) nanoparticles at different concentrations (0.1, 0.25, and 0.5 wt%) into resin-based pit and fissure sealants. Mechanical, physical, antibacterial, and cytotoxicity were tested and compared with a commercial reference material.Materials and Methods: An experimental resin-based sealant was formulated and reinforced with GO (G2–G4), while an unmodified resin served as control (G1) and Helioseal® F Plus as commercial comparison (G5). This study provides a comprehensive quantitative analysis of the disability wage gap and potential wage discrimination in Thailand. Utilizing data from the 2017 and 2022 Thailand Disability Surveys, this research employs the Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition technique to examine wage disparities between workers with and without physical or cognitive disabilities. The results reveal a substantial wage gap, with non-disabled workers, on average, earning approximately 50% more than persons with physical disabilities and more than twice as much as persons with cognitive disabilities. The purposes of this mixed methods study were to 1) examine the extent to which critical reading instruction is embedded in Thai upper-secondary classrooms, and 2) propose guidelines for designing EFL textbooks to promote critical reading using out-of-class English materials for upper-secondary students. Data were collected through a questionnaire, classroom observations, and follow-up interviews. This study aimed to achieve three research objectives: 1) To study the conceptual frameworks of academic management of private high schools and digital entrepreneurship competencies; 2) To identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of academic management in Zhejiang private high schools based on the concept of digital entrepreneurship; 3) To develop academic management strategies for Zhejiang private high schools to enhance students’ digital entrepreneurship competencies. A multiphase mixed-methods research design was adopted, integrating quantitative and qualitative approaches. This study investigates the effect of solvent choice on the oxidative cleavage of oleic acid using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as the oxidant, with a focus on improving the yields of nonanoic acid (NA) and azelaic acid (AA). Solvent selection was found to play a critical role due to polarity differences between the reactants and oxidants. tert-Butanol was unsuitable because of its low boiling point, leading to the evaluation of higher-boiling solvents including guaiacol, acetoin, ethyl lactate, and isobutyric acid. Guaiacol and acetoin exhibited undesirable chemical reactivity, while ethyl lactate resulted in low yields due to hydrogen bonding with intermediate species. …

The objectives of this study were: (1) to investigate the effect of Digital Extensive Reading on Chinese junior high school EFL learners’ reading ability, encompassing vocabulary knowledge, reading comprehension, and reading fluency; (2) to explore these learners’ opinions on DER. The participants were fifteen A2-level junior high school learners in China, selected via convenience sampling and engaged in nine 120-minute DER sessions. This study addresses key research gaps, including the lack of systematic feature selection, structured hyperparameter optimization, and comprehensive long-term and cross-location performance evaluation in the Lower Mekong River Basin to enhance the water level forecasting performance. The research has utilized a Vanilla Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network trained on 22 years of historical water level data from the Mekong River Commission (MRC) and 16 localization meteorological features from Open-Meteo. The methodology uses Grid Search optimization for hyperparameter tuning and employs the Spearman rank correlation coefficient as a filter feature selection technique to identify relevant input variables and minimize redundancy.
