Automatic Gender Identification In Speech Recognition By Genetic Algorithm, T. Jayasankar, K. Vinothkumar, Arputha Vijayaselvi
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Automatic gender classification is a system to classify the gender using speech signal developed for speech encoding, analysis, synthesis and gender identification. Generally generation of gender recognition system can be broadly in two levels namely front-end system and back-end system. The function of the front-end system is to represent by a set of vectors called feature such as pitch, short time energy (STE), energy entropy (EE), zero crossing rate (ZCR). The back-end system is also referred to classifier, and it includes to develop a gender model to recognize the gender from speech signal. In our existing system uses fuzzy logic …

Non-Gaussian White Noise Functional Solutions Of Χ -Wick-Type Stochastic Kdv Equations, Hossam A. Ghany, Abd-Allah Hyder, M. Zakarya
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, KdV equations with variable coefficients and Wick-type stochastic KdV equations are investigated. White noise functional solutions are shown by Hermite transform, homogeneous balance principle and F-expansion method. By means of the direct connection between the theory of hypercomplex systems and white noise analysis, we setup a full framework to study the stochastic partial differential equations with non-Gaussian parameters. Using this framework and F-expansion method, we present multiple families of exact and stochastic travelling wave solutions for the variable coefficients KdV equations and the stochastic KdV equations with non-Gaussian parameters, respectively. These solutions include functional solutions of Jacobi …
A Comparative Study Of Spectral Methods For Valuing Financial Options, Francis Youbi, Edson Pindza, Eben Mare
A Comparative Study Of Spectral Methods For Valuing Financial Options, Francis Youbi, Edson Pindza, Eben Mare
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Spectral methods have been actively developed in the last decades. The main advantage of these methods is that they yield exponential order accuracy if the function is smooth enough. However, for discontinuous functions, their accuracy deteriorates to low accuracy due to the Gibbs phenomenon. The main purpose of this paper is to show that high order accuracy can be recovered from spectral approximation contaminated with the Gibbs phenomenon if proper workarounds are applied. In this paper, we review some spectral method convergence remedies including spectral collocation grid stretching method (SCGSM), spectral collocation discontinuity inclusion method (SCDIM), and spectral collocation domain …

Some Features Of Quantum Fisher Information And Entanglement Of Two Atoms Based On Atomic State Estimation, S. Abdel-Khalek, G. A. Abd-Elmougod, Mohamed A. El-Sayed
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
We investigate the dynamics of the QFI (quantum Fisher information) of two two-level atoms and cavity field mode when the time-dependent coupling is neglected and considered. We use the concurrence as a quantifier of the atom-atom entanglement while the nonlocal correlation between the two atoms and optical field is measured by the von Neumann entropy. We analyze the impact of the number of photon transition and initial atomic state setting on the entanglement measures and QFI for two parameters of the atomic state estimation. Also, the effect of the time dependent coupling in terms of the atomic speed on the …

Numerical Model Of Heat Transfer Coefficient In Hot Stamping Process, Mohd Ali Hanafiah Shaharudin, Zahari Taha
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Due to the demands to reducing the gas emissions, energy saving and producing safer vehicles have driven the development of ultra high strength steel. Since the mechanical properties of ultra high strength steel are remarkably high, it has become a major setback for forming process and this has led lead to the development of special forming technique for ultra high strength steel called Hot Stamping. In hot stamping, the ultra high strength steel blank is heated to its austenization temperature of about 900 - 950 ◦C inside the furnace. Then, the heated blank is transferred to the tool where forming …

Reduction Of Blocking Artifact In Jpeg Images With Orthogonal Polynomials, R. Krishnamoorthy, S.Thennavan
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
A deblocking scheme with orthogonal polynomials transform coefficients that reduces the blocking artifact in JPEG compressed images is presented in this paper. The proposed deblocking scheme first measures the amount of artifact present in the blocks with step function and image gradient and produces an artifact measurement factor. The proposed artifact reduction scheme aims to reduce the artifact by converting the step function into a ramp function adaptively. Consecutive blocks of the image are considered and applied with orthogonal polynomials transformation and independently two identity matrices are considered and subjected to orthogonal polynomials transformation and combined with consecutive blocks to …

Some Explicit Formulas For The Frobenius-Euler Polynomials Of Higher Order, H. M. Srivastava, Mohamed Amine Boutiche, Mourad Rahmani
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The object of the present paper is to investigate a class of three-term recurrence relations for the Frobenius-Euler polynomials of higher order. By making use of a new explicit formula for the Frobenius-Euler polynomials of higher order in terms of the weighted Stirling numbers of the second kind, we provide an algorithm for calculating these polynomials. Furthermore, as an application of the results derived in this paper, we present an algorithm for computing the Lipschitz-Lerch zeta function at nonnegative integer arguments.

On The Nature Of Solutions Of Neutral Differential Equations With Periodic Coefficients, Cemil Tunc, Yener Altun
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
By this work, we construct certain specific assumptions guaranteeing the asymptotic stability (AS) of trivial solution to a retarded linear neutral differential equation with periodic coefficients, and we estimate the decay rate of the solutions of the considered equation. To reach the desirable results, we benefit from a Lyapunov functional. We give an example to show applicability of the constructed assumptions and use MATLAB-Simulink to show the behaviors of the paths of the solutions of the considered equation.

An Advanced Security Event Visualization Method For Identifying Real Cyber Attacks, Jungsuk Song, Takayuki Itoh, Gilha Park, Hiroki Takakura
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Most organizations deploy and operate intrusion detection system (IDS) on their networks in order to defend their vital computer and network resources from malicious cyber attackers. Although IDS has been contributed to the improvement of network security, there is a fatal problem in that it records the tremendous amount of alerts, so that security operators are unable to deal with all of them and it is inevitable to miss real cyber attacks from the recorded IDS alerts. Many visualization methods of IDS alerts have been proposed in order to cope with this issue, but their main objective is to better …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, Differential Evolution with Powell conjugate direction method (DE-Powell)is proposed in order solve a system of nonlinear equations. A given system of nonlinear equations is formulated as an unconstrained optimization problem. Integrating Powell conjugate direction method into DE improves the performance of DE and enables DE to optimize effectively the system of nonlinear equations. For example, applying DE to solve our formulation of the system of nonlinear equations, in some iterations DE may get trapped in local minima, then Powell conjugate direction method is applied to help DE to overcome local minima by changing the initial solution for …

On A Functional Equation Arising From A Network Model, El-Sayed El-Hady, Wolfgang Forg-Rob, Hamed Nassar
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Recently, modeling many systems in communication and networks produce difference equations characterizing the dynamics of such systems. A certain class of functional equations arises from such difference equations. The functional equation of our interest arises from a queueing model for a gateway linking two Ethernet-type local area networks. It stems from a second order difference equation with boundary conditions reflecting the dynamics of the gateway. The functional equation is not yet solved to find the exact system distribution. In this article, on one hand we investigate the possible singularities of the unknowns of the two-place functional equation. On the other …

Blending Type Approximation By Bivariate Bernsteinkantorovich Operators, Sheetal Deshwal, Nurhayat Ispir, P. N. Agrawal
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Pop and Fˇ arcas [12] introduced the bivariate operators of the Bernstein-Kantorovich type and the associated GBS(Generalized Boolean sum) operators of the Kantorovich type. The concern of this paper is to obtain the rate of convergence in terms of the partial and complete modulus of continuity and the degree of approximation by means of Lipschitz class for the above bivariate operators. We also study the simultaneous approximation for the first order partial derivative of the operator. In the last section, we estimate the degree of approximation by means of the Lipschitz class for B¨ ogel continuous functions and the rate …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this study, the general transport equation was subjected to discretization by using the central difference, upwind, hybrid, power-law, exponential scheme and QUICK scheme methods and then solved by using a program prepared in Delphi programming software. In the solution, three different grid systems of 80x100, 160x200 and 320x400 from nodal points were used. The numerical results obtained for Peclet number values of -2, 0, 2, 10 and 20 we presented graphically. The obtained results indicate that hybrid and power-law yield better results as compared to the other discretization methods. The GCI analysis was also provided that 160 x 200 …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Let R be a ring with involution ∗. An additive mapping T : R → R is called a left ∗-centralizer (resp. Jordan left ∗-centralizer) if T(xy) = T(x)y∗ (resp. T(x2) = T(x)x∗) holds for all x,y ∈ R, and a reverse left ∗-centralizer if T(xy) = T(y)x∗ holds for all x,y ∈ R. The purpose of this paper is to solve some functional equations involving Jordan left ∗-centralizers on some appropriate subsets of prime and semiprime rings with involution. In particular, we prove the following result: Let R be a 2-torsion free noncommutative semiprime ring with involution, I a …

Fuzzy Logic Based Efficient Multipath Routing For Mobile Adhoc Networks, K. Vinoth Kumar, T. Jaya Sankar, M. Prabhakaran, V. Srinivasan
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The reliable data delivery is the main problem of Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET). Due to node mobility, heavy packet dropping occurs, which leads to packet overhead and links break. The previous routing protocols are vulnerable to node mobility especially for large-scale networks. Due to this issue ,an Efficient Multipath Routing Protocol (EMRP) using fuzzy logic controller is proposed which takes advantage of the stateless property of geographic routing and the broadcast nature of wireless medium. In this protocol, both stability and mobility are calculated to determine network reliability. The reliable multipath is constructed based on network topology. Both link and …

Considering the practicability and simplification of space-domain pre-processing for 3D model information hiding, we present an improved carrier pre-processing using interval analysis of values on z-axis for the vertical profile of 3D models. First, the 3D model is scaled and rotated disproportionately according to fixed size and angle respectively, and the vertical profile can be obtained by horizontal mapping. Second, the vertical profile is mapped into the two-dimensional coordinate system and the values on the vertical axis can be determined using a fixed step size. Last, the vertical values are converted into binary numbers with interval constraints according to the …
