D-Integrity And E-Integrity Numbers In Graphs, Sultan Senan Mahde, Alanod M. Sibih, Veena Mathad

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Inspired by the definition of integrity and the alternative formulations for integrity, we investigate the D−Integrity and E−Integrity numbers of a graph in the present study. The D-Integrity number of a graph G is denoted by DIk(G) defined as: DIk(G) = ∑ p Dk (G), and the E -Integrity number of a graph G, is denoted by E Il (G) defined as: E Il (G) = ∑ p El (G). In this paper, we establish k=1 l=0 the general formulas for the D−Integrity and E−Integrity numbers of some classes of graphs. Also, some properties of D−Integrity and E−Integrity numbers are …

A New Technique For Solving Unbalanced Intuitionistic Fuzzy Transportation Problems, A. Edward Samuel, P. Raja, Srinivasarao Thota

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, a new method is proposed for solving unbalanced Intuitionistic fuzzy transportation problems assuming that a decision maker is uncertain about the precise values of transportation costs, demand and supply of the product. In this proposed method, transportation costs, demand and supply of the product are represented by triangular Intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. To illustrate it, a numerical example is solved and the obtained result is compared with the results of other existing methods. It is very easy to understand this method which can be applied to real life transportation problems.

Optimal Control Of A Fishery Utilizing Compensation And Critical Depensation Models, Mahmud Ibrahim May 2020

Optimal Control Of A Fishery Utilizing Compensation And Critical Depensation Models, Mahmud Ibrahim

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This study proposes optimal control problems with two different biological dynamics: a compensation model and a critical depensation model. The static equilibrium reference points of the models are defined and discussed. Also, bifurcation analyses on the models show the existence of transcritical and saddle-node bifurcations for the compensation and critical depensation models respectively. Pontyagin’s maximum principle is employed to determine the necessary conditions of the model. In addition, sufficiency conditions that guarantee the existence and uniqueness of the optimality system are defined. The characterization of the optimal control gives rise to both the boundary and interior solutions, with the former …

The Efficacy Measurement Of Treatment Methods: An Application To Stress-Strength Model, Rashad M. El-Sagheer, Mahmoud M. M. Mansour May 2020

The Efficacy Measurement Of Treatment Methods: An Application To Stress-Strength Model, Rashad M. El-Sagheer, Mahmoud M. M. Mansour

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This paper addresses how to use a statistical model to compare two different treatment methods for cystic fibrosis disease. The stress-strength model is used in a parametric form to compare the efficacy of the two treatment methods. Since the available data in most clinical situations are censored, the stress-strength model is investigated in presence of progressively Type II censored data. The kumaraswamy exponential (Kw-E) distribution is used as a parametirc form for the stress-strength model. The statistical inference of the stress–strength reliability R = P[Y < X] is performed when X and Y are independent random variables and follow the Kw-E distribution.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In the present work, a new concept of generalized convexity (i.e. generalized η−convexity ) is established and applied to stochastic process.Using the aforementioned concept, some new Hermite - Hadamard type inequalities for stochastic processes are found. From these results, some other inequalities for convex stochastic processes and s-convex stochastic processes in the first sense are deduced. Some Lemmas are introduced and the classical Ho ̈lder and power mean inequalities are used as tools for the development of the main results.

Back Radiation Reduction In Jean’S Slot Patch Antenna Using Reflector, Indira Raman, Thenmozhi Alagarsamy

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, the minimization of back radiation by means of sophisticated designs using the Jeans slot patch antenna with reflector is discussed. We focus on decreasing the back radiation and increasing the gain and directivity. It is shown that, the reflecting layer with an air gap of 5 mm with first layer maximize the gain. The simulation results show that the antenna parameters are enhanced reaching a gain up to 9.14dBi with directivity 9.21 dB with -30 dB return loss.

The Maximum-Entropy-Based Weight Function In Discrete-Activity-Thermostatted Models, Carlo Bianca, Marco Menale

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Recently the weighted thermostatted kinetic theory framework with discrete activity has been proposed for modeling the weighted interactions in complex systems. This paper addresses the derivation of the weight function as a solution of an inverse problem based on the macroscopic quantities and specifically on the high-order moments. The weight function, obtained by employing the maximum entropy principle, generalizes the previous published results obtained by employing the zero-order moment.

The fractional derivative is considered in a conformable sense. Analytical solutions are obtained based on conformable Taylor series expansion by substituting the truncated conformable series solutions to residual error functions. This adaptation can be implemented as a novel alternative technique to handle many nonlinear issues occurring in physics and engineering. Effectiveness, validity, and feasibility of the proposed method are demonstrated by testing some numerical applications. Tabular and graphic results indicate that the method is superior, accurate and appropriate for solving …

Dynamics Of A Delayed Rumor Propagation Model With Consideration Of Psychological Factors And Forgetting Mechanism, Mouhcine Naim, Fouad Lahmidi, Abdelwahed Namir

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

A delayed rumor propagation model with psychological factors and forgetting mechanism is formulated. The local stability of the rumor-free equilibrium and the rumor-prevailing equilibrium is discussed by analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations. Using Lyapunov functional, we prove that the rumor-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable when the basic reproduction number R0 ≤ 1. Also, a sufficient condition is obtained for the global asymptotic stability of the rumor-prevailing equilibrium when R0 > 1. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the theoretical results.

Support Vector Regression And Beta Distribution For Modeling Incumbent Party For Presidential Elections, C. R. Kikawa, M. N. Ngungu, D. Ntirampeba, A. Ssematimba

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The present paper aims to model, predict, and explain presidential election results using selected quarterly macroeconomic indicators, i.e., gross national product, consumer price index, unemployment rate and gross national product from 1994-2017. We also seek to provide predictions of presidential winner prior to the elections based on the beta distribution and the support vector regression (SVR) as prediction models. Two models are primarily built based on beta distribution and SVR. Due to the forecasting aspect, model performance focuses on one goodness-of-fit measure, i.e., the prediction error rather than the squared correlation coefficient R2 as it makes little sense in a practical …

Model Averaged Benchmark Dose Analysis For Multiple Outcomes In Developmental Toxicity Experiments, Eman Khorsheed, Mehdi Razzaghi

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

To assess the adverse effect of a toxin, animal bioassay experiments are frequently designed and performed on animals. In a typical experiment, pregnant mice are exposed to a dose of a chemical during a critical period of gestation. Animals are sacrificed before term and uterine content is examined for the number of fetuses that are dead/resorbed, malformed or normal. The outcomes are used to fit a dose-response relationship for risk assessment and determination of safe dosage levels. The choice of the dose-response model can severely affect the results. Although several models can fit the data well in the experimental dose …
