The Qualitative Property Of Numerical Solution Of Third Order Sublinear Neutral-Delay Generalized Difference Equation, P. Venkata Mohan Reddy, M. Maria Susai Manuel, Adem Kılıcman
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Here, we discuss adequate oscillatory conditions for third-order sub linear neutral-delay l-difference equation ∆l (α2(k)∆l (α1(k)∆l(x(k)+ p(k)x(k−τl))))+q(k)xβ (k−σl) = 0, we apply Riccati transformation technique in deriving enough considerations to make sure that every result of this equation is oscillatory. We provide suitable examples to validate our results.

Reduction Of Second-Order Ordinary Differential Equations Into General Linear Equations Via Point Transformations And Its Application, Supaporn Suksern, Chanikan Sawatdithep
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
We study the linearization of nonlinear second-order ordinary differential equations from the point transformation viewpoint. A new algorithm for finding linearizing point transformation is constructed. The transformation is used to map the underlying class of equations into a linear second-order ordinary differential equation which is in the general form. The general solution of this class of equations is obtained by solving the linearized equation and applying the point transformation. Moreover, we apply the obtained linearization criteria to the interesting problems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations, nonlinear partial differential equations and system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations.

In this paper, a novel approach known as DistFSM is presented for the FSM on a single graph. The DistFSM operation performed on a cloud computing system is framed on a set of heterogeneous clusters. Each cluster is a set of homogenous nodes. The input graph is converted into a sparse matrix. This matrix is partitioned horizontally into a sequence of non-equivalent chunks. Each chunk size is computed to be appropriate to the available worker resources in one of the clusters. In each cluster, the chunk is partitioned vertically into equivalent tasks. Each task is assigned to one of the …

A Novel Edge Detection Algorithm Based On Cumulative Residual Entropy, M. A. Al-Shabi
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, We proposed a novel edge detection algorithm based on Cumulative Residual Entropy (CRE). It is an essential concept in information theory. However, in our knowledge, it has relatively little consideration in image processing. Image thresholding and edge detection techniques play a crucial role in several of the tasks needed for pattern recognition and computer vision. In this paper, we have studied, implemented, and applied the CRE measure for edge detection. Firstly, We have defined a thresholding criterion based on the CRE measure that is related to the image. Secondly, the optimal solution is used to find edge detection …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, all the blocks of defect one and the decomposition numbers are all zero or one, then the Brauer tree is a graph connecting the irreducible ordinary characters. The method (r,r′)-inducing (restricting) is used to compute the Brauer trees of the symmetric group S22 modulo P = 13, which gives the irreducible modular spin characters modulo P = 13. Also, the 13-decomposition matrices of the spin characters of S22 are found.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this article, we study the theory and properties of co-Cohen-Macaulay modules. We show, for example, that the co- localization of co-Cohen-Macaulay modules preserves co-Cohen-Macaulayness under a certain condition. In addition, we give a characterization of co-Cohen-Macaulay modules by vanishing properties of the dual Bass numbers of modules. Moreover, we involve the theory of graphs within such modules achieving some applications for the edge ideal of a graph.

Modeling Of Network Packet Switches Using Matrix Analysis, Oladele Theophilus Sule, Roberto Rojas-Cessa
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
We introduce the use of matrix analysis as a method for describing the operation of a packet switch in this paper. Matrix analysis may be used to statistically describe how incoming traffic is switched from inputs to outputs according to the architecture of the switch and the selection of packets for forwarding. This method finds a direct application on throughput analysis of a packet switch, defined by the switch architecture and configuration scheme. We show the applicability of this method on different known switch architectures, as examples, and show that the results are consistent with their reported performance in the …

Preserving Finite-Volume Schemes For Two-Time Reaction-Diffusion Model, A. El Harrak, A. Bergam
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, we propose an auto adaptive time-step finite volume scheme for a class of two-time reaction-diffusion models of spatially structured population dynamics. Under specific assumptions, we prove that the privileged scheme preserves, at the discrete level, the main features of the continuous problem, namely the non-negativity of the solutions, monotonicity and boundedness. Finally, we present some numerical results to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm and the behaviour of the model and of the scheme.
