A Note On The Nonequilibrium Stationary State In Continuous-Activity Thermostatted Models, Carlo Bianca, Marco Menale Sep 2020

A Note On The Nonequilibrium Stationary State In Continuous-Activity Thermostatted Models, Carlo Bianca, Marco Menale

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The present paper addresses uniqueness of the nonequilibrium stationary state of a continuous-activity thermostatted kinetic theory framework. Specifically, a sufficient condition for the existence and uniqueness of the nonequilibrium stationary state is established. The sufficient condition defines a relation between the interaction rate and the magnitude of the external force. The proof of the main result is obtained by employing fixed-point arguments.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we investigate some properties related Caputo-Fabrizio (CF) fractional derivative. We prove some regularity properties and bounds characterizing the Caputo-Fabrizio derivative operator. Using the method of Laplace transform, we found explicit solutions of some differential equations containing the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative. Different types of inequalities generated by using the Caputo-Fabrizio derivative are also presented.

Asymptotic Stability Of Illicit Drug Dynamics With Banditry Compartment, Akanni John Olajide

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Substance abuse is one of the major global health and social problems. In view of this, a mathematical model was designed to analyze the dynamics of drug abuse and banditry among population. Necessary conditions for the existence and stability of drug abuse and banditry steady states are derived. The drug abuse and banditry reproduction number is evaluated. A locally asymptotically stable drug abuse and banditry-free equilibrium at the drug abuse and banditry basic reproduction number less than unity is proved via the analysis of characteristic equation. Whereas, the existence of a locally asymptotically stable drug abuse and banditry-present equilibrium is …

A New Bimodal Maxwell Regression Model With Engineering Applications, Fa ́Bio Prataviera, Edwin M. M. Ortega, Gauss M. Cordeiro

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

We define the generalized odd log-logistic Maxwell distribution and propose a parametric regression model based on the new distribution with three systematic components for its parameters. Some properties and maximum likelihood estimation are addressed and various simulations for different parameter settings, systematic components and sample sizes are performed. Three applications to real data sets in engineering (strength and mechanics of materials) empirically prove the usefulness of the proposed models.

An Efficient Snort Nidsaas Based On Danger Theory And Machine Learning, Hussein M. Elshafie, Tarek M. Mahmoud, Abdelmgeid A. Ali

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) is a hardware or software application that allows computer networks to detect, recognize and avoid the harmful activities, which attempt to compromise the integrity, privacy or accessibility of computer network. Two detection techniques are used by the NIDSs, namely, the signature-based and anomaly-based. Signature-based intrusion detection depends on the detection of the signature of the known attacks. On the other hand, the anomaly-based intrusion detection depends on the detection of anomalous behaviours in the networks. Snort is an open source signature-based NIDS and can be used effectively to detect and prevent the known network attacks. …

A Decomposition Algorithm For Solving Multi-Level Large-Scale Linear Programming Problems With Neutrosophic Parameters In The Constrains, O. E. Emam, Manal A. Abdel-Fattah, Safaa.M. Azzam

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Multi-level programming (MLP) is an important branch of operation research. The majority of optimization problems- humans currently face- have very large numbers of variables and constraints and are called large-scale programming problems. However, practical situations entail some imprecision regarding some decisions and performances. Neutrosophic sets play a vital role by considering three independent degrees, namely, the truth membership degree, indeterminacy membership degree, and falsity membership degree, of any aspect of an uncertain decision. The present study focuses on solving multi-level large-scale linear programming problems with neutrosophic parameters in the constrains by considering the problem coefficients to be trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers. …

Parameter Estimation For The Generalized Linear Exponential Distribution Based On Progressively Type-Π Hybrid Censored Data, M. A. W. Mahmoud, N. M. Yhiea, Sh. M. El-Said

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Estimations of the unknown parameters of the generalized linear exponential distribution (GLED) using type-Π progressive hybrid censored (HC) data are obtained. The maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) and Bayes estimation for all parameters and some lifetime functions (reliability, hazard function and reversed hazard function) are obtained. Also, we apply Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) technique and Lindely’s approximation technique to carry out a Bayesian estimation. Under the assumptions of informative and non-informative priors, estimates of Bayes and credible intervals are obtained. Different methods have been compared using Mont Carlo simulations. Real data set has been investigated for illustrative purpose.

New Prospective Of The Equiconvergence Theorem, M. B. Tahir, Abdulkareem A. Yaseen

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

We prove a general form of the equiconvergence theorem using the method of V. A. Il’n. Horva ́th, Joo ́ and Komornik which provides a general theorem for the one dimensional Schro ̈ dinger operator. We prove that the theorem for certain situation is more general than the previous theorem. In particular, we write down the difference of the trigonometric kernel of the general expansion and estimate the resulting infinite sums. For the terms of these sums we used different and sharper estimates than in the previous investigations.

Parameter Inference Of A Stochastic Sis Model Of Transmission Of Hiv/Aids With Immigration Effect, Youness El Ansari, Ali El Myr, Lahcen Omari

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, two techniques of parameter estimation based on the Euler-maximum likelihood are used to estimate some influential parameters of a stochastic SIS epidemic model of transmission of HIV/AIDS. The latter is alimented by a constant flow of new members whose fraction is infective. After presenting the two estimation techniques, we adress a complete study of the consistency and convergence of the proposed estimators. Data concerning HIV/AIDS in Morocco are used to simulate the different results and to compare the effectiveness of the used techniques.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

We introduce the censored bimodal skew-normal-flexible distribution which can be very useful in dealing with censored data together with bimodality and high (or low) levels of skewness and kurtosis. A simple expression for its moments is derived. The frequentist approach is considered to draw inference, and the traditional maximum likelihood method is employed to estimate the unknown parameters. We also derive the observed information matrix. An application of the new model to the plasma HIV-1 RNA measurement is presented for illustrative purposes.

Analytical Approach To Study The Generalized Lane-Emden Model Arises In The Study Of Stellar Configuration, Fazal Abbas, Petko Kitanov, Sierra Chimene, Abbas Rehmani

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we consider the generalized Lane-Emden model which arises in the study of steller configuration. We came up with the nonlinear, multi-singular, initial value ordinary differential equations. Mathematical induction is used to verify the generalized non-iterative higher-order Lane-Emden type equation. We use various Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) algorithms to find the convergent series solutions of the model. It is observed how the choice of initial value, increasing values of M in the polynomial nonlinearity yM, and different choices of HAM algorithms impact the solution radius of convergence. Convergent series solutions obtained from HAM algorithms are compared with the …

Constancy Of Speed Of Light In Inertial Frames, Hafez A. Radi, Thomas E. Ward May 2020

Constancy Of Speed Of Light In Inertial Frames, Hafez A. Radi, Thomas E. Ward

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This article proves that speed of light in all uniformly moving inertial reference frames is absolute as postulated by Einstein. This is first done by considering light propagating with a speed c in all directions in an inertial frame of reference. If that frame is moving uniformly with a speed v relative to a second stationary inertial frame, we assume that light in the second frame is propagating in all directions with a different speed cp=pc. Consequently, modified transformation Equations are formed. The established Poincaré ellipsoidal light waves are then used to find the Equation that governs the relation of …

Exponential Stability And Numerical Results Of A Coupled System Of Wave Equations With Indirect Control, J. A. J. Avila, R. F. C. Lobato, J. A. D. Chuquipoma, M. J. Dos Santos

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

The present paper addresses a coupled system of waves with indirect control. First, using Semigroup Theory we prove the existence of solution applying the Lumer-Phillips theorem. We show the exponential decay of the solution using Nakao’s method. Computational experiments are conducted in the one-dimensional case in order to show that the dissipative energy properties are present. To obtain the time behavior of the energy of system, we resolve two numerical tests. Finally, in both tests, we conclude that the system, for one-dimensional case, is dissipative with exponential stability.

Stability And Existence Analysis To A Coupled System Of Caputo Type Fractional Differential Equations With Erdelyi-Kober Integral Boundary Conditions, Muthaiah Subramanian, Dumitru Baleanu

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This article focuses on the Hyers-Ulam type stability, existence and uniqueness of solutions for new types of coupled boundary value problems involving fractional differential equations of Caputo type and augmented with Erdelyi-Kober fractional integral boundary conditions. The nonlinearity relies on the unknown functions. The consequence of the existence is obtained through the Leray-Schauder alternative, whereas the uniqueness of the solution relies on the Banach contraction mapping principle. We analyze the stability of the solutions concerned in the Hyers-Ulam form. As an application, some examples are presented to illustrate the main results. Finally, some variants of the problem are addressed.

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This paper presents a new authenticated encryption scheme (AES) based on elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem (ECDLP) and discrete logarithm problem (DLP). Assume that we have one signer, and a set of U = (u1,u2,...,ul), which represents the verifiers group of L members. A single signer can encrypt and sign the message only if k (1 ≤ k ≤ l) or more verifiers agree to recover the message m on behalf of the whole verifier group U. In addition, we need a system authority with the task of generating the parameter, while a trusted clerk selected by the signer is …
