A Provably Secure Signature Scheme Based On Factoring And Discrete Logarithms, Zuhua Shao, Yipeng Gao
A Provably Secure Signature Scheme Based On Factoring And Discrete Logarithms, Zuhua Shao, Yipeng Gao
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
To make users put much confidence in digital signatures, this paper proposes the first provably secure signature scheme based on both factoring and discrete logarithms. The new scheme incorporates both the Schnorr signature scheme and the PSS-Rabin signature scheme. Unless both the two cryptographic assumptions could be become solved simultaneously, anyone would not forge any signature. The proposed scheme is efficient since the computation requirement and the storage requirement are slightly larger than those for the Schnorr signature scheme and the PSS-Rabin signature scheme.

The Control Of Population Tumor Cells Via Compensatory Effect, Janar J. Yermekbayeva, Beisenbi A.Mamyrbek, Arystan N. Omarov, Gulnar A. Abitova
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Mathematical models and simulation studies are powerful tools to investigate dynamic properties of complex systems. Complex models with constant parameters often approach a steady state. In this research, we present an overview of mathematical approaches applied to the description of control population tumor cells. We are researching the influence of D-factor on tumor cells population. We called it compensatory effect. There is Vaccination as biological analogue of the compensator effect. D-factor is presented as catastrophe theory’s fold form. Further, numeric results of model experiments are showing that this approach is positive efficient.
Efficient Inference Of As-Level Paths In The Internet, Qixin Gao, Feng Wang, Lixin Gao
Efficient Inference Of As-Level Paths In The Internet, Qixin Gao, Feng Wang, Lixin Gao
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Routing protocols maintain connectivity of Internet routers and hosts and determine the path that a packet traverses. Inferring Internet paths is critical for evaluating the performance of Internet applications and services, such as cloud services and content delivery. Unlike intra-domain routing protocols, which typically use the shortest paths, inte-domain routing protocol apply local policies for selecting routes/paths and propagating routing information. These routing policies are typically constrained by contractual commercial agreements between ASes. It is well-known that routing policies can impact the AS path that an AS may select for delivering a packet. Thus, the ability to infer the AS-level …
Approximate Solution Of An Unknown Coefficients In Parabolic Equation, Mine Aylin Bayrak, Emine Can
Approximate Solution Of An Unknown Coefficients In Parabolic Equation, Mine Aylin Bayrak, Emine Can
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, an inverse parabolic equation is solved by using the homotopy analysis method (HAM) and the homotopy perturbation method (HPM). The approximation solution of this equation is calculated in the form of series which its components are computed easily. HPM is shown not always to generate a continuous family of solutions in terms of the homotopy parameter. By the convergence-control parameter this can however be prevented to occur in the HAM. Illustrative examples are presented to exhibit a comparison between the HAM and the HPM.

Calculation Of Bulk Acoustic Wave Propagation Velocities In Trigonal Piezoelectric Smart Materials, Abo-El-Nour N. Abd-Alla, Nadia A. Askar
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The goal of this paper is to determine the bulk acoustic wave (BAW) propagation velocities (quasi-longitudinal, quasi-shear vertical and quasi-shear horizontal) in two important piezoelectric smart materials, Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) and Lithium Tantalate (LiTaO3). To determine the BAWpropagation velocities, the BAWelemental equations are deduced. The BAWvelocities are calculated for each direction by solving the Christoffel’s equation systematically based on the theory of acoustic waves in anisotropic solids exhibiting piezoelectricity. The modification of the BAW velocities by the piezoelectric effect are calculated and graphically compared with the velocities in the corresponding non-piezoelectric materials. Furthermore, the electromechanical coupling factors are defined and …

Numerical Solution Of Fractional Benney Equation, Mehmet Ali Akinlar, Aydin Secer, Aydin Secer, Mustafa Bayram
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper we propose a new solution technique for numerical solution of fractional Benney equation, a fourth degree nonlinear fractional partial differential equation with broad range of applications. The method could be described as a hybrid technique which uses advantages of both wavelets and operational matrices. Having applied the present method, fractional Benney equation is converted into a matrix equation, which is easy to solve. To the best of our knowledge, the fractional Benney equation has not been solved with any numerical or analytical method in the literature. Solving this equation numerically and investigating the applicability of the wavelets …

Analytical And Numerical Investigations For The Flow And Heat Transfer Of Nanofluids Over A Stretching Sheet With Partial Slip Boundary Condition, Emad H. Aly, Abdelhalim Ebaid, Nader Y. Abd Elazem
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Due to importance of the slip effect on modeling the boundary layer flows of nanofluids, theoretical and numerical investigations have been introduced in this paper for studying the effect of a partial slip boundary condition on the heat transfer of nanofluids over a stretching sheet. The exact solutions of the investigating model were obtained in terms of exponential, Gamma, and incomplete Gamma functions at some values of the physical parameters. These solutions were then numerically validated by using Chebyshev pseudospectral differentiation matrix (ChPDM) technique. The numerical results reveal that this approach is really effective, very accurate, and convenient in studying …

Mathematical Models Of 3d Magnetic Field And 3d Positioning System By Magnetic Field, Dong Lin, Xin Chen
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
A practical 3D positioning system was developed based on the mathematical models of 3D magnetic field induced by a single loop coil. Mathematical expression of the magnetic intensity in 3D space was derived in detail. 3D positioning using magnetic field provides a new approach to detect the location of a non-visible target inside a non-magnet-shielded object such as human body by taking advantage of penetrative capability of magnetic field through such object. By attaching magnetic sensor to medical instruments, the signals generated by the sensor inside the body response to the magnetic field produced by emitter coils outside body are …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this article, the homotopy analysis method (HAM) is implemented for obtaining semi-analytical solutions to the problem of the nonlinear vibrations of multiwalled carbon nanotubes embedded in an elastic medium. A multiple-beam model is utilized in which the governing equations of each layer are coupled with those of its adjacent ones via the Van der Waals inter layer forces. The amplitude-frequency curves for large-amplitude vibrations of single-walled, double-walled and triple-walled carbon nanotubes are obtained. The influence of changes in material constants of the surrounding elastic medium and the effect of changes in nanotube geometrical parameters on the vibration characteristics are …

A Parallel Branch And Bound Algorithm For Solving Large Scale Integer Programming Problems, Mahmoud M. Ismail, Osama Abd El-Raoof, Waiel F. Abd El-Wahed
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Branch and Bound technique is commonly used for intelligent search in finding a set of integer solutions within a space of interest. The corresponding binary tree structure provides a natural parallelism allowing concurrent evaluation of subproblems using parallel computing technology. While the master-worker paradigm is successfully used in many parallel applications as a common framework to implement parallel applications, it has drawbacks when a large number of computing resources are connected via WAN. A supervisor-master-sub-master-worker algorithm has been proposed. From the solved benchmark example this algorithm proved to provide a considerable save of time. Results show that a consistently better …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper we concern with asymptotic stability, synchronization control and numerical solution of incommensurate order fractional Shimizu–Morioka dynamical system. Firstly we prove the existence and uniqueness of the solutions via a new theorem. After finding steady–state points, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of the Shimizu–Morioka system. We also study the synchronization control where we employ master–slave synchronization scheme. Finally, employing Adams– Bashforth–Moulton’s technique we solve the Shimizu–Morioka system numerically. To the best of our knowledge, there exist not any study about analysis of chaotic dynamics of fractional Shimizu–Morioka system in the literature. In this sense …

An Interference Based Routing Metric In Wireless Mesh Network, Abhisek Paul, Paritosh Bhattacharya, Santi Prasad Maity
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are consist of mesh routers. Mesh routers are built with multiple radios for improving capacity of network with the assignment of different frequency bands (channels). Establishment of routing is very important for getting good output or achieving good performance in multi radio wireless networks. In this paper we have proposed Weighted Cumulative Consecutive Conflicting Expected Transmission Time (WCCCETT) routing metric for multi radio multi channel wireless mesh networks. Theoretic analysis and simulation verify WCCCETT gives better performance than other relevant metrics with respect to the selection of less interference effecting path.

Moving Object Detection Using Lab2000hl Color Space With Spatial And Temporal Smoothing, Muhammet Balcilar, M. Fatih Amasyali, A. Coskun Sonmez
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In order to detect moving objects such as vehicles in motorways, background subtraction techniques are commonly used. This is completely solved problem for static backgrounds. However, real-world problems contain many non-static components such as waving sea, camera oscillations, and sudden changes in daylight. Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is statistical based background subtraction method, in which values of each pixels features are represented with a few normal distributions, partially overcame such problems at least. To improve performance of GMM model, using spatial and temporal features in Lab2000HL color space which have linear hue band, is proposed in this study. The spatial …

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Semi-supervised learning has attracted a significant amount of attention in pattern recognition and machine learning. Among these methods, a very popular type is semi-supervised support vector machines. However, parameter selection in heat kernel function during the learning process is troublesome and harms the performance improvement of the hypothesis. To solve this problem, a novel local behavioral searching strategy is proposed for semi-supervised learning in this paper. In detail, based on human behavioral learning theory, the support vector machine is regularized with the un-normalized graph Laplacian. After building local distribution of feature space, local behavioral paradigm considers the form of the …

Supra Generalized Closed Soft Sets With Respect To An Soft Ideal In Supra Soft Topological Spaces, A. Kandil, O. A. E. Tantawy, S. A. El-Sheikh, A. M. Abd El-Latif
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
The concept of soft ideal was first introduced by Kandil et al. [13]. In 1999, Molodtsov [22] introduced the concept of soft sets as a general mathematical tool for dealing with uncertain objects. The concept of generalized closed soft sets in soft topological spaces was introduced by Kannan [15] in 2012. The notions of supra soft topological space were first introduced by Kandil et al. [14]. In this paper, we introduce the concept of supra generalized closed soft sets(supra g-closed soft for short) in a supra topological space (X,m,E) and study their properties in detail. Also, we introduce the concept …

A Novel Hybrid Pso Identification Method Simultaneously Estimate Model Parameter And The Structure, Qibing Jin, Kewen Wang, Jian Zhang, Liting Cao
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Estimate model parameter and the structure simultaneously is a crucial and challenging problem in system identification. For solving the problem, a hybrid algorithm by integrating two-order oscillating particle swarm optimization with successive quadratic programming is proposed in this paper. The two-order oscillating particle swarm optimization is showed to converge rapidly to a near optimum solution, but the search process will become very slow around global optimum. On the contrary, successive quadratic programming is weak to escape local optimum but the ability of convergent speed around global optimum and the convergent accuracy is strong. In this case, the two-order oscillating particle …

A Fuzzy Algorithm For Solving A Class Of Bi-Level Linear Programming Problem, Lu Zhang
A Fuzzy Algorithm For Solving A Class Of Bi-Level Linear Programming Problem, Lu Zhang
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This paper proposes a kind of bi-level linear programming problem, in which there are two decision makers in a hierarchy and they have a common variable. To deal with this bi-level problem, we introduce a virtual decision maker, who controls the common variable to maximize the sum of the objective functions of the upper and lower level decision maker (the leader and follower). To illustrate the partial cooperation, the virtual decision maker chooses his/her decision before the leader because the leader and the follower exchange the information to maximize their total benefits. Then the leader chooses his/her decision before the …

High-Order Consensus Seeking: A Frequency Domain Approach, Bo Yang
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
High-order consensus, in which individual high-order dynamic units keep in pace with each other in a distributed fashion, depends both on the feedback gains of the protocol and on the properties of the interaction network. By employing a frequency domain method, we explicitly derive analytical equations that clarify a rigorous connection between the stability of general high-order consensus and the system parameters such as the network topology and feedback gains. Using the derived consensus polynomials, the general sufficient and necessary stability criterion is obtained for high-order consensus networks of arbitrary topology. Furthermore, a sufficient condition of desirable time complexity for …

Revisiting The Existence Of Self-Similar Property In Spec Cpu Workloads, Qiang Zou, Yong Li, Yujuan Tan, Xuesong Chen
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This paper studies self-similarity of memory accesses in high-performance computer systems. We analyze the autocorrelation functions of memory access intervals in SPEC CPU workloads with different time scales and present the statistical evidence that memory accesses have self-similar behavior. For memory traces studied in our experiments, all estimated Hurst parameters are larger than 0.5, which indicate that self-similarity seems to be a general property of memory access behaviors. In addition, a selfsimilar model is proposed to generate memory access series and experimental results show that this model can faithfully emulate the complex access behaviors of real memory systems.

Modeling And Analysis Of Frame-Level Forward Error Correction For Mpeg Video Over Burst-Loss Channels, Chun-I Kuo, Chi-Huang Shih, Ce-Kuen Shieh, Wen-Shyang Hwang, Chih-Heng Ke
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Forward error correction (FEC) is a common error control technique to improve the quality of video streaming over lossy channels. To optimize the data recovery performance, frame-level FEC schemes have been proposed for streaming video to maximize playable frame rate (PFR) within transmission rate constraint on a random binary symmetric channel (BSC). However, burst loss is a commonplace in current Internet architecture, and the FEC efficacy can be degraded since the burst data losses easily exceed the error correction capacity of FEC. Accordingly, an estimated video quality model over burst loss channels is proposed in this paper to evaluate the …

Cryptanalysis Of A New Dynamic Id-Based User Authentication Scheme To Resist Smart-Card-Theft Attack, Fengtong Wen, Dianli Guo, Xuelei Li
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In a recent paper (AMIS, 6(2S), 2012), Lee proposed a dynamic ID-based user authentication scheme based on smart card which is believed to have many abilities to resist a range of network attacks. In this paper, we analyze the security of Lee’s scheme and show that the scheme is in fact insecure against insider-assisted attack, even if the adversary doesn’t know the secret information stored in the smart card. In addition, the adversary can perform off-line guessing attack and impersonation attack if the secret information stored in the smart card is compromised.

Financial Time-Series Forecasting Based On A Neural Network With Weighted Fuzzy Membership Functions And The Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Model, Sang-Hong Lee, Joon S. Lim
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This paper proposes financial time-series forecasting using a feature selection method based on the non-overlap area distribution measurement method supported in a neural network with weighted fuzzy membership functions (NEWFM) and the Takagi- Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The non-overlap area distribution measurement method selects the minimum number of features with the highest performance by removing the worst features one by one. This paper uses CPPn,m (current price position on day n: percentage of the difference between the price on day n and the moving average of the past m days’ prices from day n-1) as a technical indicator. The performance …

Reducing False Positives Of A Bloom Filter Using Cross-Checking Bloom Filters, Hyesook Lim, Nara Lee, Jungwon Lee, Changhoon Yim
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
A Bloom filter is a compact data structure that supports membership queries on a set, allowing false positives. The simplicity and the excellent performance of a Bloom filter make it a standard data structure of great use in many network applications. In reducing the false positive rate of a Bloom filter, it is well known that the size of a Bloom filter and accordingly the number of hash indices should be increased. In this paper, we propose a new architecture reducing the false positive rate of a Bloom filter more efficiently. The proposed architecture uses cross-checking Bloom filters that are …

Association Rule Mining Considering Local Frequent Patterns With Temporal Intervals, Kuo-Cheng Yin, Yu-Lung Hsieh, Don-Lin Yang, Ming-Chuan Hung
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In traditional association rule mining algorithms, if the minimum support is set too high, many valuable rules will be lost. However, if the value is set too low, then numerous trivial rules will be generated. To overcome the difficulty of setting minimum support values, global and local patterns are mined herein. Owing to the temporal factor in association rule mining, an itemset may not occur frequently in the entire dataset (meaning that it is not a global pattern), but it may appear frequently over specific intervals (meaning that it is a local pattern). This paper proposed a temporal association rule …
