Introduction
Review of the Literature
Severe hypotension has long been held as being one of the most potent stimuli for activation·of the mechanisms responsible for circulatory homeostasis. It has been accepted that the most immediate response to hypotension involves activation of the autonomic nervous system causing an increased vascular tone. In addition to various neurogenic mechanisms that function to cause an increase in vascular tone, several humeral mechanisms have also been implicated.
Rocha e Silva and Rosenberg (1969) described the release of vasopressin (ADH) from the posterior lobe of the pituitary in response to hemorrhage in the dog. They postulated …

In any teaching-learning situation it is advisable to carry on the process of continuous evaluation to identify strengths and overcome weaknesses. All too frequently such evaluations are seldom undertaken in higher education. As a result, instructors have little or no evidence available to judge the impact of their courses and are unable to discover the values and limitations of their offerings. The present study 1 was an initial effort carried out to mitigate this situation in the undergraduate reading methods course for elementary teachers at Western Michigan University.
Getting With Spaceship Earth, Noel Mcinnis
Getting With Spaceship Earth, Noel Mcinnis
Perspectives (1969-1979)
The environment into which we are born remains invisible to us unless one of two things happens: 1) we leave it, or 2) it changes drastically. Quite recently, both of these things have happened to man-on-earth. Man left the earth long enough to look it over, and brought back pictures which make it difficult for us to overlook the planet as formerly. And those of us who stayed on earth discovered our planet by virtue of the fact that its feedback is doing things to us which were entirely unintended in our doings to it. The coincidence of these events …
An Ecological Study Of Coliform Bacteria Associated With Vaccinium Corymbosum, Harry C. Bittenbender
An Ecological Study Of Coliform Bacteria Associated With Vaccinium Corymbosum, Harry C. Bittenbender
Honors Theses
Recent research has shown that there are coliform populations associated with the cultivated high bush blueberry, Vaccinium corynbosum. This study is aimed at determining the ecology of these colofirms, as they are related to blueberry production from the farm to the warehouse. Tests will be made to identify the Salmonella group, those associated with "food poisoning." Total bacterial coliform counts will also be made. This paper is primarily an ecological study of the coliforms found on blueberry farms near Grand Junction, though fruit samples were taken from all warehouses of the M.B.G.A.

Sick And Tired, Louis Foley
Reading Horizons: A Journal of Literacy and Language Arts
Recently one of our sprightliest columnists wrote an entertaining article on things that people were "sick and tired" of hearing. For a final example, as a sort of climax, he said: "I am sick and tired of the attempt to eliminate the word 'now' from the English language. On radio, on television, and in the press there seems to be a conspiracy to wipe out this wonderfully short and to-the-point word meaning 'at this very instant.' The most common substitute is the word 'presently,' which doesn't even mean 'now,' but 'soon,' as everybody with a second-grade education used to know. …
