Preserving Diversity In The Wake Of Students For Fair Admissions, Inc.: Historical Lessons From The United States And India, Tyler Dunne
San Diego International Law Journal
Following the ban on considering race in higher education admissions under Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College, concerns have emerged over maintaining racial diversity in college classrooms. This analysis offers a comparative perspective, exploring the history and methodologies of affirmative action in the United States and India to identify effective strategies for promoting diversity in U.S. universities. Recommended approaches include top percent programs, socioeconomic-based affirmative action, test-optional or test-blind policies, race-based recruiting, removing legacy preferences, and holistic student reviews. By implementing these strategies, universities can still work toward their diversity goals despite the …

Examining The Creative Process Of Visual Artists: A Phenomenological Study, Filiberto Vargas
Examining The Creative Process Of Visual Artists: A Phenomenological Study, Filiberto Vargas
Dissertations
Creativity fuels problem solving and innovation, driving both economic growth and individual success. Yet, many schools and organizations fail to nurture it. Today, there is a decline in creativity scores among U.S. students. This is concerning since many of these students will be the future leaders of organizations and communities. For this reason, this dissertation explores the creative process of visual artists to better understand how creativity can be cultivated. Visual artists' perspectives and sense-and-meaning-making processes offer a unique view of innovation and creativity. However, there is limited research on the creative processes of contemporary visual artists from culturally diverse …

Together, we explore how Black men navigate wellness in the context of …

A Woman’S World Through The Lens Of Socialized Politics: How Accurate Knowledge Politically And Socially Empowers A Woman’S Autonomy, Claire G. Herzog
Undergraduate Honors Theses
Women have dealt with being perceived as inferior to men, defective, and in need of control. My research draws a connection between the ways societal beliefs, judicial action and political action interact with each other to reinforce and reproduce these limiting beliefs about women. The interaction between these institutions result in underlying policies that target women's rights, silencing their voices and sense of independence, all while aiming to control the female body completely. Despite the perception that modern society has moved away from the sexist beliefs that had been created and ingrained into society centuries ago, we are left with …
