• Non-major students often require assistance in building foundational understandings
• Science majors are tasked with achieving a heightened level of comprehension, as outlined in Bloom’s or SOLO taxonomy, in contrast to their non-major counterparts
• Science Peer tutoring strategies encompass a spectrum of approaches, including metacognition, goal-oriented methods, procedural guidance, Socratic questioning, study aids, and problem-based learning techniques

Research has previously hypothesized that increasing the number of choices would increase intrinsic motivation, satisfaction, and control throughout the decision-making process. However, large bodies of research has been discovering that when people experience choice overload they feel confused and dissatisfied with their choices because they don't feel like they've sought out and found the best choice. Results from choice overload research have found that increasing the assortment size of choices, added time pressure, and the risks of making a decision all negatively consumer choice.

Traumatic Brain Injury And Public Stigma: The Effect Of Perceived Responsibility, Mackenzie Grenko

A known 5.3 million Americans are currently disabled by traumatic brain injury (TBI; NCIPC, 2016). Perceived responsibility can alter public attitudes toward those with TBI, resulting in challenges such as stigma. Weiner’s Attribution Theory (1993) has yet to be applied to those with brain injury despite evidence that perceived responsibility negatively impacted public attitudes (Linden et al., 2007; Redpath et al., 2010). Further, It is unclear within the literature what characteristics of the injury (e.g., safety equipment uses, job-related) impact public stigma. Today, racism persists within our enduring policies, crafted decades ago, whose consequences continue to impact society. Redlining stands as a prime example, its enduring impact palpable in present-day realities. This research endeavors to show the relationship between redlining, and obesity, and diabetes within the community of Waterloo.

Prior studies have illuminated a clear link between redlining and health disparities, underscoring how disinvestment in redlined locales impedes access to nutritious food, and thus promoting health issues. Recently enacted legislation and political climate may contribute to faculty dissatisfaction. For instance, 87% of faculty in Florida would not recommend faculty jobs in their state because of recent laws affecting higher education (e.g., DEI funding restrictions in institutions; Zahneis & June 2023). Those in Democratic states may also be impacted (e.g., White males feeling discriminated against; Isom Scott, 2018). These political climates related to higher education may also impact graduate students and contribute to their stress. At UNI's Dementia Simulation House, we offer the opportunity for participants to experience what life may be like for someone living with dementia in a home setting. About 80% of individuals living with dementia live at home in the community, and we aim to show participants what it might be like for these individuals to complete chores and activities of daily living. An individual puts on gear to experience dementia. There is a debriefing that involves writing a reaction word. We sorted the reaction words and calculated percentages on the commonality of phrases or words to examine the reactions of …
