Using Triple Oxygen Isotopes To Reveal The Origin And Evolution Of Mantle Eclogite, Catherine Mary Peshek
Using Triple Oxygen Isotopes To Reveal The Origin And Evolution Of Mantle Eclogite, Catherine Mary Peshek
Earth and Planetary Sciences ETDs
Triple oxygen isotope (TOI) measurements of mantle eclogite from the Orapa kimberlite pipe have reconstructed bulk rock '18O values from 4.587 to 9.542‰ (vs. VSMOW) and '17O from -0.075 to -0.044‰ (vs. VSMOW, ~0.528). TOI values show increasing '18O with decreasing '17O, overlapping with modern measured altered oceanic crust. Orapa eclogite xenoliths with alkali enrichments show variable mantle-like and heavy 18O, consistent with subduction of seafloor altered basalt. Na# (Na/Na+Ca) in clinopyroxene for some xenoliths pairs with mantle-like oxygen, variable and extreme LREE enrichment, elevated Mg# and lower jadeite contents. These samples preserve records of eclogite melting, mantle interaction …
Emotional Villages In The Medieval Mediterranean: Territorial Language Of Emotional Expression, 644–1508 C.E., Eden Vigil
History ETDs
This thesis examines the concept of an emotional village as one that embodies territorial emotions. The emotions themselves are categorically defined based on modern conventions, but utilizes the author’s words to expose the fluidity of emotion language amongst cultures and traditions. My research presents emotional villages in four sections to expose these modalities of feeling amongst cultures. The first section looks at devotion, wonder, and reverence; the second, loss, grief, and nostalgia; the third, fear and anger; the fourth, disgust and hatred. The fifth section is dedicated to the emotional village that is medieval Jerusalem. Emotions are merely the language …

Medical Residency Milestones: Competencies In Informatics, Library, And Evidence-Based Practice, Deborah J. Rhue, Jonathan Eldredge
Publications
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) sets standards known as Milestones and monitors the progress of medical residents as they advance toward medical practice in their specialties. Health sciences librarians need to train medical residents in certain competency areas to help reach the Milestone standards. This project analyzed the Milestones related to informatics, library, and Evidence Based Practice (EBP) skills to identify core and optional library-related curricular elements that can be integrated into different medical specialty residencies.
The authors collected key competency documents from ACGME and from those specialties representing 2% or more of the residencies in the …

: In this paper we prove that Neutrosophic Statistics is an extension of the Interval Statistics, since it may deal with all types of indeterminacies (with respect to the data, inferential procedures, probability distributions, graphical representations, etc.), it allows the reduction of indeterminacy, and it uses the neutrosophic probability that is more general than imprecise and classical probabilities, and has more detailed corresponding probability density functions. While Interval Statistics only deals with indeterminacy that can be represented by intervals. And we respond to the arguments by Woodall et al. [1]. We show that not all indeterminacies (uncertainties) may be represented …

Neutrosophic Number Sequences: An Introductory Study, Hasan Gokbas, Selcuk Topal, Florentin Smarandache
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
In this paper, Neutrosophic definitions and properties of some special number sequences which are frequently found in the science literature, called Neutrosophic Number Sequences (NNSq) via Horadam sequence are studied for the first time. Especially for Neutrosophic Fibonacci (NFNq) and Neutrosophic Lucas (NLNq) number sequences, fundamental properties and identities such as Ruggles, Honsberger, Cassini, Catalan, d’Ocagne, and Tagiuri are given. In addition, Neutrosophic definitions of the sequences of Pell (NPNq), Pell-Lucas (NPLNq), Jacobsthal (NJNq), Jacobsthal-Lucas (NJLNq), Mersenne (NMNq), Mersenne-Lucas (NMLNq), Balancing (NBNq), and Lucas-Balancing (NLBNq) numbers are introduced. Besides defining these numbers and their sequences, since fuzzy and intuitionistic fuzzy …

Soft Set Product Extended To Hypersoft Set And Indetermsoft Set Product Extended To Indetermhypersoft Set, Florentin Smarandache
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
In this paper we define the Soft Set Product as a product of many soft sets and afterwards we extend it to the HyperSoft Set. Similarly, the IndetermSoft Product is extended to the IndetermHyperSoft Set. We also present several applications of the Soft Set Product to Fuzzy (and fuzzy-extensions) Soft Set Product and to IndetermSoft Set and IndetermHyperSoft Set.
Linguistic Matrices, W. B. Vasantha Kandasamy, K. Ilanthenral, Florentin Smarandache
Linguistic Matrices, W. B. Vasantha Kandasamy, K. Ilanthenral, Florentin Smarandache
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
The authors build linguistic matrices only for those linguistic variables which yield a linguistic continuum or an ordered linguistic set. Most of the properties enjoyed by real and complex matrices are satisfied by these linguistic matrices. However, we see when we try to define operations on linguistic matrices that they behave in different ways. The possible operations defined on linguistic matrices are only the maximum and minimum. Further, we have different identities for min and max operations on these matrices for linguistic variable and its associated linguistic words.

Linguistic Functions, W. B. Vasantha Kandasamy, K. Ilanthenral, Florentin Smarandache
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
In this book, the authors have proved the analogues of the Bolzano Weierstrass theorem for the linguistic version. Several concepts in the case of linguistic continuum are very distinct from the natural classical real continuum. Categorically, we have three linguistic variables: one leading to a continuum, some finite and orderable set, and some not orderable. We define a linguistic plane associated with linguistic variables and give graphs associated with linguistic functions.

Linguistic Semilinear Algebras And Linguistic Semivector Spaces, W. B. Vasantha Kandasamy, K. Ilanthenral, Florentin Smarandache
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
This book introduces algebraic structures on linguistic sets associated with a linguistic variable.
The linguistics with single closed binary operations are only semigroups and monoids. Authors feel it is not possible to define the notion of linguistic group.
We describe the new notion of linguistic semirings, linguistic semifields, linguistic semivector spaces, and linguistic semilinear algebras defined over linguistic semifields.
We also define algebraic structures on linguistic subsets of a linguistic set associated with a linguistic variable.

This book is inspired by a German theoretical physicist, Sabine Hossenfelder’s publication: “Lost in Mathematics”. Her book seems to question highly mathematical and a lot of abstraction in the development of physics and cosmology studies nowadays. There is clear tendency that in recent decades, the physics science has been predominated by such an advanced mathematics, which at times sounding more like acrobatics approach to a reality. Through books by senior mathematical-physicists like Unzicker and Peter Woit, we know that the answer of TOE is not in superstring theories or other variations of such 26 dimensional bosonic string theory, of which …

Neutrosophic Logic is a general framework for unification of many existing logics, such as fuzzy logic (especially intuitionistic fuzzy logic), paraconsistent logic, intuitionistic logic, etc.
In 2019 Smarandache generalized the classical Algebraic Structures to NeutroAlgebraic Structures (or NeutroAlgebras) {whose operations and axioms are partially true, partially indeterminate, and partially false} as extensions of Partial Algebra, and to AntiAlgebraic Structures (or AntiAlgebras) {whose operations and axioms are totally false}, and he continued to develop them and extend a Structure in any field to the NeutroStructure and AntiStructure.
The NeutroAlgebras & AntiAlgebras are a new field of research, which is inspired from …

In an earlier paper published in a neutrosophic math journal (IJNS), we discussed a new approach to technology, which may be called as ‘opti-realism’ or ‘pess-optimism’ as alternative to utopianism based on technocracy, which may lead the world into global techno-totalitarianism. In this article, we submit a new approach to Nature and technology, which is more modest and humble, rather than a techno-utopianism version of reality that most futurists argue for. Our proposed approach resembles more to Myer-Briggs 16 types of personality, including IJNS, IFNS etc. In our scheme, there are 8 characters of approach toward technology which can lead …

Neutrosophic topological space is an extension of fuzzy topology. Neutrosophic topological space addresses each element’s membership, indeterminacy and non-membership grades. Dropping an axiom in the neutrosophic topological space produces a new topological space called neutrosophic supra topological space. Elements in this neutrosophic supra topology are neutrosophic sets. We established the neutrosophic αψ-supra open set in neutrosophic supra topological spaces in this paper. Also, we investigate the properties of the newly defined set. Neutrosophic αψ -supra continuity is introduced and studied subsequently.

COVID-19 outbreak is a reminder of the fact that the pandemics have happened in the past and will also occur in the future. The COVID-19 not only has affected the economy; but also it has affected the livelihood, which leads to the changes in businesses. This study aims to identify the most significant indicator (or parameter) that impacts the sustainability of industries. The study should also develop a realtime monitoring system for the sustainability of industries affected by COVID 19. In this work, the Polynomial Neural Network (PNN) and cosine similarity measure under SVPNS (Single-Valued Pentapartitioned Neutrosophic Set) environment have …

Complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras and complex neutrosophic ideals of Lie algebras are defined in this paper. Each component in complex neutrosophic Lie algebra has magnitude and phase terms. Some characteristics of complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras (ideals) and some of their operations like intersection and Cartesian product are also discussed. Moreover, the relationship between complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras (ideals) and neutrosophic Lie subalgebras (ideals) is investigated. Finally, the image and the inverse image of complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebra under Lie algebra homomorphisms are defined and the properties of complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras and complex neutrosophic ideals under homomorphisms of Lie algebras …

Creative procedural generation requires, by its nature, a nondeterministic result. Each set of outputs has to satisfy the required criteria and, at the same time, has to show unique results to be considered creative. One of the keys to increasing nondeterminism is to use fuzzy neutrosophic sets. A combination of a CoCoSo multi-criteria decision algorithm with a genetic algorithm to generate game scenes was proposed. The algorithm satisfies the required game rules and improves the aesthetics value of the visual game scene. The proposed approach seeks to produce a creative solution which satisfies the replayability principle, when the solution is …

The theory of Plithogeny is gaining momentum in recent times as it generalizes the concepts of fuzzy, intuitionistic fuzzy, neutrosophy and other extended representations of fuzzy sets. The relativity of the comprehensive and accommodative nature of plithogenic sets in dealing with attributes shall be applied to handle the decision–making problems in the field of sociology. This paper introduces the concepts of Plithogenic Sociogram (PS) and Plithogenic Number (PN) where the former is the integration of plithogeny to the sociometric technique of sociogram and the latter is the generalization of fuzzy, intuitionistic fuzzy and neutrosophic numbers that shall be used in …
