In an earlier paper published in a neutrosophic math journal (IJNS), we discussed a new approach to technology, which may be called as ‘opti-realism’ or ‘pess-optimism’ as alternative to utopianism based on technocracy, which may lead the world into global techno-totalitarianism. In this article, we submit a new approach to Nature and technology, which is more modest and humble, rather than a techno-utopianism version of reality that most futurists argue for. Our proposed approach resembles more to Myer-Briggs 16 types of personality, including IJNS, IFNS etc. In our scheme, there are 8 characters of approach toward technology which can lead …

Neutrosophic topological space is an extension of fuzzy topology. Neutrosophic topological space addresses each element’s membership, indeterminacy and non-membership grades. Dropping an axiom in the neutrosophic topological space produces a new topological space called neutrosophic supra topological space. Elements in this neutrosophic supra topology are neutrosophic sets. We established the neutrosophic αψ-supra open set in neutrosophic supra topological spaces in this paper. Also, we investigate the properties of the newly defined set. Neutrosophic αψ -supra continuity is introduced and studied subsequently.

Complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras and complex neutrosophic ideals of Lie algebras are defined in this paper. Each component in complex neutrosophic Lie algebra has magnitude and phase terms. Some characteristics of complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras (ideals) and some of their operations like intersection and Cartesian product are also discussed. Moreover, the relationship between complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras (ideals) and neutrosophic Lie subalgebras (ideals) is investigated. Finally, the image and the inverse image of complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebra under Lie algebra homomorphisms are defined and the properties of complex neutrosophic Lie subalgebras and complex neutrosophic ideals under homomorphisms of Lie algebras …

Generation Of Creative Game Scene Patterns By The Neutrosophic Genetic Cocoso Method, Aurimas Petrovas, Romualdas Bausys, Edmundas Kazimieras Zavadskas, Florentin Smarandache

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

Creative procedural generation requires, by its nature, a nondeterministic result. Each set of outputs has to satisfy the required criteria and, at the same time, has to show unique results to be considered creative. One of the keys to increasing nondeterminism is to use fuzzy neutrosophic sets. A combination of a CoCoSo multi-criteria decision algorithm with a genetic algorithm to generate game scenes was proposed. The algorithm satisfies the required game rules and improves the aesthetics value of the visual game scene. The proposed approach seeks to produce a creative solution which satisfies the replayability principle, when the solution is …

Introduction To Plithogenic Sociogram With Preference Representations By Plithogenic Number, Nivetha Martin, Florentin Smarandache, R. Priya

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

The theory of Plithogeny is gaining momentum in recent times as it generalizes the concepts of fuzzy, intuitionistic fuzzy, neutrosophy and other extended representations of fuzzy sets. The relativity of the comprehensive and accommodative nature of plithogenic sets in dealing with attributes shall be applied to handle the decision–making problems in the field of sociology. This paper introduces the concepts of Plithogenic Sociogram (PS) and Plithogenic Number (PN) where the former is the integration of plithogeny to the sociometric technique of sociogram and the latter is the generalization of fuzzy, intuitionistic fuzzy and neutrosophic numbers that shall be used in …

A Hybrid If-Fucom-Gra Approach And Its Application To Determine Optimal Bacterial Concentrations On Mortar At Optimal Curing Day, Srila Dey, Florentin Smarandache, Rama Debbarma, Priyanka Majumder

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

In this study, Intuitionistic Fuzzy Consistency Method (IF-FUCOM) and Grey Relation Analysis (GRA) were combined to assess the effects of Bacillus subtilis bacteria on concrete properties, as well as to determine the optimal bacteria concentration and curing day. Three different concentrations of bacteria were added to the mortar mixes, like 103, 105, and 107 cells/ml of water. Mortar samples were left to cure for 7 days, 14 days, and 28 days to evaluate compressive strength, water absorption, crack healing. According to the proposed algorithm, 105 bacteria are the optimal concentration, while 28 days is the ideal curing time.

Recently, research on uncertainty modeling has been progressing rapidly, and many essential and breakthrough studies have already been done. There are various ways to handle these uncertainties, such as fuzzy and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Although these concepts can take incomplete information in various real-world issues, they cannot address all types of uncertainty, such as indeterminate and inconsistent information. The neutrosophic theory founded by Florentin Smarandache in 1998 constitutes a further generalization of fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set, picture fuzzy set, Pythagorean fuzzy set, spherical fuzzy set, etc. Since then, this logic has been applied in various science and engineering domains. …

A Contentious Mission: Water Supply And Corps Of Engineers Reservoirs, Reed D. Benson Jan 2022

A Contentious Mission: Water Supply And Corps Of Engineers Reservoirs, Reed D. Benson

Faculty Scholarship

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates hundreds of multi-purpose reservoirs nationwide, many of which provide water for municipal and industrial purposes. Demands for water from Corps reservoirs are sure to grow, and Congress has ordered the Corps to report on whether water supply should become a primary mission of the agency. The Corps has experienced controversy over water supply decisions, including disputes involving its Missouri River reservoirs and Lake Lanier in Georgia. When the Corps proposed a national Water Supply Rule in 2016 it drew significant opposition, forcing the agency to withdraw the rule and reassess its policies. This …

Of Reservation Boundary Lines And Judicial Battle Lines, Part 1 - Reservation Diminishment/Disestablishment Cases From 1962 To 1975: The Indian Law Justice Files, Episode 1, John P. Lavelle

Faculty Scholarship

This Article is the first of a two-part investigation into the Indian law doctrine of reservation diminishment/disestablishment, examining Supreme Court decisions in this area in light of insights gathered from the collected papers of individual Justices archived at the Library of Congress and various university libraries. The Article first addresses Seymour v. Superintendent (1962) and Mattz v. Arnett (1973), observing that these first two diminishment/disestablishment cases are modern applications of basic, longstanding principles of Indian law which are highly protective of Indigenous people’s rights and tribal sovereignty. The Article then examines in detail DeCoteau v. District County Court, the anomalous …

The Plight Of Western Rivers, W. Howard Brandenburg Jan 2022

The Plight Of Western Rivers, W. Howard Brandenburg

Natural Resources Journal

My oil paintings weave a narrative about the human species. I am interested in the space where our proliferation infringes upon ecosystem function. I am fascinated in what makes our species so successful and what that success means for the balance of nature. My paintings often target concepts around environmental transformations attributed to human activities and economies. Visual art provides me the latitude and freedom to explore and communicate these concepts, using a visual language which conveys disparate perspectives; universally and individualistically.

This duality is what I strive for in my work; producing an image that not only speaks a …

Premature Grey Wolf Delisting, Dr. Edward A. Fitzgerald

Natural Resources Journal

On November 3, 2020 the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (“FWS”)1 issued “Removing the Gray Wolf (Canis Lupus) From the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife” (“Final Rule”) delisting the gray wolf in forty-eight states, except for the Mexican gray wolf in the Southwest.2 This Final Rule returned gray wolf management to the states. Wolf delisting was a last-minute gift from the Trump administration to conservative voters, particularly hunters, trappers, and livestock owners right before the November 2020 presidential election. Hunters and trappers view the wolf as a competitor for the game that they want to kill, while livestock owners …

An Anatomy Of Nepal's Remarkable Export Decline, Rishi Sharma Jan 2022

An Anatomy Of Nepal's Remarkable Export Decline, Rishi Sharma

Himalayan Research Papers Archive

This paper documents and breaks down a remarkable decline in Nepal's exports over the 2000-2019 period. This decline is due to a collapse in the country's top export products and is largely uniform across destinations and products. Furthermore, it is not on account of the poor global performance of the sectors Nepal was specialized in but is something more specific to Nepal. Industry-level statistics show that gross output increased in major exporting industries while value-added grew slower or declined. The increase in gross output together with the decline in exports implies a movement towards producing for domestic consumption using more …

Injuries In Food Growers: Are There Gender Differences?, Patricia Siegel, Marcy Rinaldi Jan 2022

Injuries In Food Growers: Are There Gender Differences?, Patricia Siegel, Marcy Rinaldi

OT Research and Scholarship

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) agriculture is one of the most hazardous industries in the United States (2021). Data shows the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in farmers is high, with a lifetime prevalence of any form of musculoskeletal disorder at 90.6% (Osborne et. al., 2012). Men tend to be injured more often especially when working with farm machinery (Dimich-Ward et. al., 2004). Animal related injuries dominated for women (Dimich-Ward et. al., 2004). This research suggests that farming injuries could be different depending on the gender of the worker and the work they do.
