This dissertation aimed to formulate a theory regarding high school students' learning of irrational numbers with the plithogenic hypothesis method as a modeling instructional approach for incommensurability, decimal expansions, and cognitive conflict. Using a concurrent Design-Based Research (DBR) and Grounded Theory (GT) method with twelve eleventh-grade students during 2025 in Bogotá, Colombia, four didactic interventions occurred addressing incommensurability, geometric representations, approximated sequences, and interdisciplinary uses; data were analyzed through systematic coding and plithogenic matrices, with results presented through truth, uncertainty, and falsity. Conclusions revealed that incommensurability (60% consensus) serves as a conceptual anchor to justify subsequent understandings, decimal expansions (50% …

This study addresses the phenomenon of prioritization of risks during large-scale audits as risks evident in the complicated environment and uncertain information are challenging to mitigate. The importance of the topic is that for complicated entities with high uncertainty, high impact, and low/high probability of audit detection, proper allocation in this resource sensitive 21st century is needed for effective audit. The literature demonstrates means to assess and rank risk for subsequent corrective actions that traditional statistical methods cannot capture. The developed hybrid model combines Random Forest, fuzzy logic, and neutrosophic logic are used to process homicide data, demographic variables, and …

The problem explored in this article is spelling ability of 3rd year students of Basic General Education and how neutrosophic psychology can enhance spelling rules through playful teaching. Spelling is an essential component of presenting one's thoughts formally and non-verbally; unfortunately, without motivation and without dynamic approaches, spelling becomes complicated. The problem is observed in problems of the contemporary educated world as (positional) writing is formalized, and the requirements of language standards always should be met, which means logic and causation should be added for future endeavors of logical thinking and orientations by the public. Thus, similar research exists regarding …

This investigation explores whether emotional communication empowered by artificial intelligence tools is needed for pedagogical integration for reading comprehension for Third Graders at Santiago Fernández García Educational Unit. Through Teacher interviews, classroom observations and pedagogical assessments, the investigator uncovered methodological insufficiencies that not only hinder the literal aspects of reading comprehension but also interpretative and critical aspects. Teachers hold a fortuitous upper hand regarding these advancements; however, test results show non-sufficient didactic planning geared toward emotional awareness strategy developments through artificial intelligence. Suggested artificial intelligence developments in this area show to be text generators or emotional detectors; however, this is …

Designing Optimal Routes For Mobile Prenatal Care Clinics Using Neutrosophic Cognitive Maps, Mónica Gabriela Chachalo Sandoval, Evelyn Paulina Chacha Ochoa
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This manuscript examines the routing of mobile prenatal clinics in Ecuador, focusing on maternal and infant health in vulnerable, hard-to-reach areas. This assessment is significant because even with new developments geographically expanding access to mobile prenatal clinics, there remain accessibility gaps for vulnerable women located in hard-to-reach, topographic regions where it's uncertain if they truly need services or can assess whether they can travel to a clinic. While previous studies sought to assess the potential for newly mobile units and coverage, few studies have been found to assess new routes through accessibility uncertainty and villages with varying demand for access …
The Sexual Assault And Violence Experiences Questionnaire: Community-Developed Items For Gathering Sexual Violence Histories With Displaced Women, Meredith A. Blackwell
The Sexual Assault And Violence Experiences Questionnaire: Community-Developed Items For Gathering Sexual Violence Histories With Displaced Women, Meredith A. Blackwell
Psychology ETDs
Improving measurement of sexual violence has contributed to major policy changes in the United States. However, research on sexual violence largely overlooks those exposed to conflict and displacement: a population especially at risk. Assessment measures often ignore contextual features and use phrasing that is vulnerable to underreporting. This community-based participatory research project collaborated with cultural experts from Mexico/Central America and Afghanistan to develop a preliminary item list for a self-report measure of prior sexual violence. Analysis of focus group data from 30 women revealed a range of sexual violence experiences, and provided critical phrasing used to form an item list …

Transmasculine experiences before, during, and after pregnancy were evaluated using focus groups and autoethnographic research. As transgender people are more likely to experience inequality in healthcare encounters, this project aims to shed light on, and counter sensationalized accounts of male pregnancy, as transmasculine gestational individuals sought normalization in their experiences of pregnancy. Seven focus groups consisted of 90 minute sessions, with a total of 15 participants. Transcripts were analyzed using a trans narrative approach to find a greater understanding about identity construction, challenges, and changes around trans pregnancy. Asking about communities and healthcare experiences worked to create a complete picture …

From Energy Abundance To Blackouts: Political Explanations For Ecuador’S 2024 Electricity Crisis, Selene V. E. Diaz Martinez
Political Science ETDs
Ecuador’s growing reliance on hydropower has positioned it as a regional leader in renewable energy development. However, recent droughts have exposed the vulnerability of this energy model in the face of climate change. In 2024, widespread blackouts underscored the risks of overdependence on hydroelectricity in the country. The media suggested that the cause of the blackouts was due to an abnormal drought that year. However, climate change alone cannot explain the lack of use of other generation sources to meet demand. suggesting that a review of political choices could provide insight into the sector's failure. This research examines the political …

Neurobehavioral Mechanisms Of Psychotic-Like Experiences And Cannabis Use, Ethan Campbell
Psychology ETDs
As cannabis use has increased steadily over the past decade, there is critical need to evaluate early cannabis use as a potential risk factor for the development of psychosis. Neurobehavioral mechanisms underlying novelty salience could clarify how cannabis exposure may influence subclinical psychotic-like experiences (PLEs). The present study leveraged dynamic functional connectivity and task-fMRI to assess the role of novelty processing in cannabis use and PLEs. A group of brain regions dynamically tied to the salience network while viewing short films were found to increase their activation as a function of stimulus novelty during a novelty bandit task. PLEs were …

Real-Time Frequency Tuning Of Kinetic Energy Harvesters Via System Mass Adjustment, Rahul Adhikari
Mechanical Engineering ETDs
This research presents a method for real-time frequency tuning of piezoelectric kinetic energy harvesters through system-mass adjustment. Custom 3D-printed proof masses with cavity arrays were used to redistribute solid or liquid mass, enabling controlled modification of resonant frequency. Experimental studies using microparticles and liquids—including water, silicone oil, and sodium polytungstate—demonstrated an achievable tuning range of 115.27 Hz with sub-hertz resolution (< 0.1 Hz), confirming precise and repeatable frequency control. Finite-element modeling guided design optimization, while a microfluidic channel system enabled automated liquid filling for real-time operation. A MATLAB-based EH_Tuning application was developed to visualize and predict frequency responses. The combined …

Simulation Of Stress Induced By Laser Heating Of Glass, Austin Marsh Schuberth
Mechanical Engineering ETDs
The purpose of this work is to create a method for accurately simulating the stresses due to heating from femtosecond laser pulses. Our work aims to calculate stress and strain in glass exposed to laser pulses used for laser welding. We simulate the effects of thermal heating, thermal expansion, and the viscoelasticity of glass for a single straight weld bead. The laser heating of K9 borosilicate glass was simulated using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Thermal models developed by other researchers in earlier work were utilized in calculating the temperatures due to the laser exposure to the glass material. 2D simulations …
Guillaume Dustan's Ethico-Politics Of The Body, Noah Mertz
Guillaume Dustan's Ethico-Politics Of The Body, Noah Mertz
Foreign Languages & Literatures ETDs
In this MA Thesis, I lay out a synthetic overview of polemical French writer Guillaume Dustan's (1965-2005) political philosophy. He is criticized first as irresponsible and dangerous for his defense of barebacking (sex without condoms) in the midst of the AIDS epidemic, and then, after his death, as a neoliberal/anarcho-capitalist for his focus on individual liberty. My overview touches on Dustan's Freudian belief that repression is the root of all social ills, his functional ethics of self-responsibility, the revaluation of heteronormative Judeo-Christian morality towards 'virtusex,' and his social contract that minimizes repression. Dustan’s goal is for you to autonomously subjectify …

Electre I Approach For Multi-Criteria Group Decision-Making In Single-Valued Neutrosophic N-Soft Environment, Fathima Perveen P A, Sunil Jacob John
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
The single-valued neutrosophic N-soft set model is a superior tool for capturing ambiguity and incompleteness in real-life circumstances. In this paper, we extend the ELECTRE I method to the single-valued neutrosophic N-soft ELECTRE I method in multi-criteria group decision- making environment. To explain the outranking relationship among alternatives with respect to different parameters, this new technique is developed by introducing the ideas of strong, midrange, and weak single-valued neutrosophic N-soft concordance and discordance sets. Also, we propose an algorithm for the proposed method along with a flowchart. Finally, an illustrative example is solved to validate and prove the relevance of …
