An Assessment Of The Causes Of Conflict In Nepal, Bishwa Nath Tiwari
An Assessment Of The Causes Of Conflict In Nepal, Bishwa Nath Tiwari
Himalayan Research Papers Archive
With the end of cold war, the nature and consequences of conflict changed significantly. Today there is conflict more between the people of a country than between countries. Thus, the reasons of conflict are changing with the lapse of time. As the number of deaths owing to conflict has been accelerating in the recent decades, it is utmost important to look into its causes. Against this backdrop the present study makes a modest attempt to find out the causes and correlates of conflict and its intensity using data of a cross section of 75 districts of Nepal.

This essay presents social and cultural perspectives on populism in Latin America focused on its cultural roots, history, and social bases. The following themes represent four common foundations of populism: mass electoral politics and universal suffrage, appeal to social issues and economic well being, political rhetoric linked to the sovereignty of the nation-state, national control of natural resources and social demands for distribution of the revenues they generate. The central question explored in this presentation concerns the conditions that give rise to populism, which requires a social pact of reciprocity and accountability in Latin American political developments. These perspectives relate …

NotiEn: An Analytical Digest About Energy Issues in Latin America
Citing the priority to ensure that Mexico's food needs are secure, President Felipe Calderon has vetoed legislation to create an ethanol industry in Mexico. The veto does not end the effort but requires that Congress make several modifications to the bioenergy law (Ley de Promocion y Desarrollo de los Energeticos), which the Chamber of Deputies approved near the end of its legislative session in April (see SourceMex, 2007-06-06). The initiative that came out of the lower house was based on a similar measure approved in the Senate in 2006.

For the final assignment in this class on theory development, I asked these creative nursing PhD students to either adapt or extend an existing midrange theory. The following papers represent great hope for the future of nursing knowledge, and we offer them as evidence to interested readers at any level who want to know why theory matters, how it relates to actual practice, and why the voices of reflective nurses at all levels of educational attainment are needed to advance our thinking and unfolding in the context of all health professions. Sincerely, Jennifer B. Averill, PhD, RN, Instructor

A comprehensive literature review of food habits for these species from throughout their distribution also is provided. We collected rodents in the field during winter, spring and late summer in 1998 from six communities: riparian cottonwood forest; piñon-juniper woodland; juniper-oak savanna; mesquite savanna; short-grass steppe; and Chihuahuan Desert scrubland.
