Organizational change, an inevitable element of modern workplaces, often introduces stress, uncertainty, and the need for resilience among employees. This study investigates the impact of servant leadership on team adaptability during such transitions. Servant leadership, characterized by empathy, empowerment, trust-building, and support, presents a human-centered alternative to traditional, authority-driven leadership models that prioritize compliance. This research explores how servant leadership behaviors foster resilience, engagement, and adaptability within teams experiencing organizational change. A mixed-methods approach will be utilized, combining quantitative surveys to measure employee adaptability and engagement with qualitative interviews to delve into perceptions of servant leadership behaviors. Emotional intelligence is a concept that has been gaining traction in recent decades, and organizations have been trying to assess its place within leadership and training. Previous research on this topic has shown the growing importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace, with particular attention to employee retention and satisfaction. By using a mixed methods approach to understand the importance of emotional intelligence (EI), this paper explores the specific components of EI employees look for in an organization and a leader. Black bears are charisma c carnivores with ecological, cultural, and economic value in the regions they inhabit. Because black bears are considered a highly-valued big game species in New Hampshire and other jurisdictions, regulated harvest is a fundamental tool for maintaining environmentally- and socially-sustainable populations. However, as the availability of non-natural food sources on the landscape is shining, historical management approaches may no longer align with bear management objectives and it is essential to understand potential impacts on black bear ecology and population dynamics. A response to Professor Steven Koh's new article on how the U.S. makes global criminal justice policy. Prof. Fidler examines what a decade of cybercrime indictments reveals about America's approach to prosecuting foreign hackers. Three things stand out: * Beyond Attribution - These indictments aren't just about naming and shaming, or about the typical dimensions of criminal alw. They're sophisticated foreign policy tools that coordinate and moderate international sanctions and global norms. * Intertwined with Cooperation - The indictments alternately create space for and slow the tempo of international cooperation on this issue, according to U.S. interests. * Power Projection …

Covering The Care: Impacts Of Labor And Delivery Unit Closures On Maternal Health Outcomes, Bridget Green, Deborah Fournier, Susy Hawes

In 2022, more than half of rural hospitals and one-third of urban hospitals in the United States lacked obstetric services, reflecting an escalating trend of hospital labor and delivery (L&D) unit closures across the US. Despite some large-scale studies reporting negligible impacts of L&D closures on maternal health, an analysis of the literature presents a clear net negative impact for vulnerable women, including those who identify as members of a racial or ethnic minority, those who have low-income, and those who are Medicaid members. Mechanistic Modeling Of Deformation Micromechanics In Commercially Pure Titanium Under Cyclic Bending To Post-Necking Regimes, Talukder Musfika Tasnim Oishi

This thesis investigates the deformation behavior of commercially pure titanium (CP–Ti) undercyclic bending under tension (CBT) through integrated experiments and multiscale modeling. Cyclic bending produces alternating tension and compression through the sheet thickness, delaying localization and enhancing ductility. Digital image correlation (DIC) measurements were used to quantify strain-path evolution and elongation-to-fracture (ETF). Finite-element simulations employing a continuum J2 plasticity model captured the macroscopic load–displacement response and width-dependent transition from uniaxial to plane-strain deformation. To incorporate micromechanical mechanisms, a dislocation-density-based crystal plasticity finite-element (CPFE) model with kinematic backstress was developed and calibrated using experimental data, accurately reproducing cyclic hardening and slip-system …

Binary neutron star (BNS) mergers have recently become a tool to study extreme gravity, nucleosynthesis, and the chemical composition of the Universe in a new way. In order to accurately identify electromagnetic signals of neutron star mergers, both in the future and retroactively, better constraints on their merger signatures are required. Specifically, BNS outflow properties (such as the mass and composition) are particularly insightful, as they provide a link between the intrinsic properties (such as the stellar masses and radii) and observables. This dissertation presents the end-to-end development, characterization, and in-flight validation of the 3-dimensional Gamma-Ray Polarimeter Experiment (GRAPE), a wide-field-of-view (FoV) Compton polarimeter designed for high-energy astrophysics. The primary scientific motivation is to address unresolved questions in the physics of Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) jets, for which gamma-ray polarimetry is a critical diagnostic. GRAPE is designed to measure the degree and angle of $\gamma$-ray polarization within a targeted energy band of \SIrange{50}{500}{keV} to cover the peak energy output (E$_{pk}$) of observed GRB spectra. This thesis describes the operation and error analysis for an instrument that is intended to measure current density in space, although there are other potential applications for the instrument. The device, named the Faraday Rotation Ammeter (FRA), utilizes the Faraday Rotation Effect to calculate current density, where the magnetic field created by a current density causes a shift in the polarization angle of light traveling in a fiber optic cable within the device. Reinforcement learning~(RL) studies the methodologies of improving the performance of sequential decision-making for autonomous agents and has achieved remarkable success in domains such as games, robotics, autonomous systems, finance, and healthcare. The Markov Decision Process~(MDP) is a mathematical framework for modeling agent-environment interactions in sequential decision-making problems. There are two primary sources of uncertainty in RL: epistemic uncertainty and aleatoric uncertainty. In RL, risk refers to the potential for an agent's policy to lead to undesirable outcomes, especially when the environment is uncertain. Few studies examine the specific component of teacher evaluation and reporting and its relationship with student motivation. Student motivation to learn and achieve is a fundamental element of academic success in school. Motivation has been linked to educational outcomes like curiosity, persistence, learning, conceptual understanding, and long-term achievement (Vallerand et al., 1992). Diminished motivation can lead to consequences such as higher dropout rates and increased anxiety. Research indicates that classroom climate and student-teacher relationships have the most significant impact on student motivation (Jansen et al., 2022).
