Notes On Some Trematodes Parasiti,C In Alaskan Canidae, Bert B. Babero, Robert Rausch
Notes On Some Trematodes Parasiti,C In Alaskan Canidae, Bert B. Babero, Robert Rausch
Harold W. Manter Laboratory of Parasitology: Faculty Publications
Except for the report of Hadwen (1922) and a few miscellaneous records, little information is available relative to the helminth parasites infecting canine animals in Alaska. During the past two years, 520 autopsies on can ids have been performed in connection with the investigation of animal-borne diseases. The purpose of this note is to record the occurrence of four species of trematodes observed in Alaskan can ids during the course of these studies; one species is apparently reported for the first time from North America. These four parasites are mentioned separately below:
Metorchis albidus (Braun, 1833)
Ackert (1937) recorded this …
The Relationship Between Altitude – I.Q. Discrepancy And Anxiety, Claire Kepler Purcell, John Drevdahl, Kenneth Purcell
The Relationship Between Altitude – I.Q. Discrepancy And Anxiety, Claire Kepler Purcell, John Drevdahl, Kenneth Purcell
Department of Psychology: Faculty Publications
Recently there has been increasing interest in the use of intra-individual test discrepancies as a measure of functioning efficiency. One of the major problems in establishing scatter patterns has been that of finding a suitable internal reference point. The three reference points most commonly employed are the mean or IQ, the vocabulary score, and the altitude or maximum score. Psychologists who believe that the G factor is an ability argue for the use of the IQ as a reference point while those who believe that it is a capacity use altitude as a reference point. In regarding intelligence as a …

Reduced Ascorbic Acid Content Of Potatoes Grown With And Without Straw Mulching And Irrigation In Eastern Nebraska, H. O. Werner, Ruth M. Leverton, Mary R. Gram
Reduced Ascorbic Acid Content Of Potatoes Grown With And Without Straw Mulching And Irrigation In Eastern Nebraska, H. O. Werner, Ruth M. Leverton, Mary R. Gram
Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Research Bulletins
Potatoes harvested from home gardens and in commercial early-producing fields in the Midwest are an important low-cost source of ascorbic acid from late June into September. The major portion of the early commercial crop in Nebraska (harvested mostly in August) is produced with irrigation. Straw or litter mulching is a well established practice in the nonirrigated garden and farm potato patches. The value of these cultural methods for increasing yield is well known, but prior to this study little was known about their influence on the ascorbic acid content of the tubers, or about the persistence of any such influence …
Ec 9992 Yeast Rolls, Ethel Diedrichsen
Ec 9992 Yeast Rolls, Ethel Diedrichsen
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials
Handling yeast dough is fun. There is much satisfaction in molding the dough and watching it rise. You and your family will enjoy the delicious flavor and delicate texture associated with homemade rolls. The process of making rolls is similar to that of making bread. Less kneading is required because the gluten in rolls does not have to be developed so much in order to support the structure of the roll. As a rule. the dough is much softer and sweeter than that for bread. With a variety of ingredients and shapes. you can make tempting rolls for any occasion. …

The Red Cloud Sand And Gravel, A New Pleistocene Formation In Nebraska, C. Bertrand Schultz, Eugene C. Reed, Alvin Leonard Lugn
Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences: Faculty Publications
Recent studies of the stratigraphy and paleontology of the Pleistocene of Nebraska have resulted in additional data that require further clarification and partial revision of the Grand Island sand and gravel formation (1,2) in order that there may be no confusion as the result of varying usage of the term.
The Nebraska Geological Survey, the University of Nebraska State Museum, and the Department of Geology at the University of Nebraska have approved the foregoing restriction of the term Grand Island and the adoption of the new name Red Cloud sand and gravel, and these names will be used in future …

Feeding Milking Shorthorn Steers, M. L. Baker, V. H. Arthaud, C. H. Adams
Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Circulars
The objectives of the feeding work were to provide the producer with feed-lot data and where possible with slaughter data for Milking Shorthorn steers. As a definite breeding research program with the Milking Shorthorn herd was planned, it also was believed that information about the beef-making qualities of the steers should be of equal importance with milk and butterfat production records.

Geology Of The Gunnison Quadrangle, Utah, William N. Gilliland
Geology Of The Gunnison Quadrangle, Utah, William N. Gilliland
University Studies (University of Nebraska) (1888–1984)
The Gunnison Quadrangle is in central Utah approximately 130 miles south of Salt Lake City at the juncture of the Sevier and Sanpete valleys (see fig. 1). The quadrangle is bounded by 39°00' and 39° 15'N. Lat. and III °45' and 112°00' W. Long. Parts of both Sevier and Sanpete counties are included.
The Gunnison Quadrangle is considered important geologically because it lies athwart the juncture of the Sevier and Sanpete valleys and includes portions of three major structural and physiographic units-the Wasatch Plateau, the Gunnison Plateau, and the Valley Mountains. Two of these, the Gunnison Plateau and the Valley …

Radioactive Disintegration, Robert Katz
Radioactive Disintegration, Robert Katz
Robert Katz Publications
The conventional development of parent-daughter relationships in radioactive disintegration follows the treatment given in Rutherford, Chadwick, and Ellis in which a trial solution of the differential equations appropriate to the process is proposed, and the arbitrary constants are evaluated by application of boundary conditions. At the senior-graduate level at which the first course in nuclear physics is usually taught, the following derivation is believed to be considerably more instructive.
