Securities Law—Securities Transaction Incident To Corporate Fraud: The Wrenched Connection, Joe E. Armstrong
Securities Law—Securities Transaction Incident To Corporate Fraud: The Wrenched Connection, Joe E. Armstrong
Nebraska Law Review
The operative language of Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 limits their application to fraud "in connection with the purchase or sale of any security." The United States Supreme Court was given the opportunity to interpret the scope of that phrase in Superintendent of Insurance v. Bankers Life & Casualty Co. The purpose of this article is to point out: (1) the impact of the Court's decision on the prior legislative and judicial development of Rule 10b-5; and (2) the lack of guidance given by the rule and the need for administrative clarification.

In a recent paper Eberhart and Beck (4) suggested that the aryl-,β-glucosidase of Neurospora conidia is a mural enzyme. Similarly, Nevins (11) reported that ,β-glucosidase is strongly associated with cell walls during extraction of bean hypocotyls at pH 4.6 and suggested that this enzyme is wall-bound in situ, and Keegstra and Albersheim (9) noted that β-glucosidase could be effectively washed from the surface of sycamore cells grown in liquid culture. On the basis of histochemical evidence, Ashford (1) suggested that β-glucosidase in corn roots is associated with a reticulate network of strands and particles, and Ashford and McCully (2) …

G72-25 Pruning Ornamental Plants (Revised August 1987), R.D. Uhlinger
G72-25 Pruning Ornamental Plants (Revised August 1987), R.D. Uhlinger
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials
March through May is the best time for pruning lawn trees, junipers, and flowering shrubs. Leaves are gone from the deciduous plants so we can see the branching structure and determine where cuts should be made. Healing occurs most rapidly when growth is starting in the spring, so wounds caused by pruning are quickly healed.
This NebGuide discusses when and how is the best time for pruning plants and the methods and tools to be used to complete the project.
