Production of beta-1,3 glucan from Agrobacterium and its wound healing activity on white rat. The objective of this study was to determine the activity of beta-1,3 glucan product extracted from local Agrobacterium sp Bro 1.2.1, both wild-type and mutant-type, on opened-wound healing process. Beta-1,3 glucan product was extracted by precipitation, and the purification was carried out by column chromatography as KCl gradient fractions. In this study, white Sprague Dawley rats were employed, and have been treated for opened-wound condition. O-toluidine Polymerization in Aqueous Phase and Its Development to Produce In Situ Poly-o-toluidine Films. Polymerization parameters of aqueous phase which have an effect to polymer film were studied in order to establish indirect control of film fabrication by means of controlling the parameters of aqueous phase. Among the parameters studied are the concentration of HCl, APS/o-toluidine ratio, polymerization duration, and temperature. HCl concentration was found to be optimum at the excess value of 1.0M, whereas ratio of APS/o-toluidine at 1.25. Polymerization duration was found of having an effect to both stability and thickness. A new means for providing wireless communication has been currently proposed. It is based on aerial vehicle known as High Altitude Platform or Stratospheric Platforms (SPF). The SPF will be operated at an altitude of 17-22 km above the ground. Therefore, the channel condition may be different compared with those of the conventional terrestrial or satellite wireless channel. A method by high performance liquid chromatography for the analysis of acrylamide in potato chips, is reported. The retention time for the elution of acrylamide from the C18RP column ranged from 3 to 3,2 minutes, and the eluate was analyzed by UV-VIS detector. A linear response was found for the acrylamide standard tested within the concentration range of 0,8 – 10µg/ml and the corelation coefficient (r) greater than 0,999, with detection limit 0,06 ppm and quantitative limit 0,19 ppm. Synthesis of Fuel Cell Membrane: Copolymerization of Styrene on ETFE Film by Grafted pre-Irradiation. Preirradiation Grafting styrene monomer on ETFE film has been prepared. Research has been performed by γ-ray radiation at various total dose from 2.5 – 12.5 kGy and various dose rate from 1.3 – 1.9 kGy/hour. Irradiated copolymer is then grafted by styrene monomer in various solvent: ethanol, 2-propanol, and toluene, various concentration from 20 – 70% volume, various temperature from 50 – 90oC, and various grafting time from 2 – 12 hours. The research to accelerate furosemide dissolution rate has been done through physical property modification by solid dispersion forming polyvinylpyrolidone (PVP) carrier with solvent method. Pure furosemide posses property of being practically insoluble in water and has low bioavailability. In current research, six weight ratio of furosemide to PVP being used are 1:1; 1:3; 1:5; 1:9 and 1:15. Physical mixtures are made in equivalent weight ratio. The dissolution rate was examined by paddle method in phosphat buffer pH 5,8. As a powerful medium to persuade people to buy a product or service, ads have long been used in many forms. This study attempts to understand the language use and graphic design of comic as one of the ads forms in Jakarta-based Indonesian media, particularly in the period of 1940-1960s. By employing different approaches in Linguistic Anthropology, Mass Communication and Graphic Design, the findings show a close relationship between the language and the graphic design of the ads with the society who consumed them as well as a trend towards informal language use and popular culture.

An experiment to investigate the somatic embryogenesis from shoot-derived callus of Pogostemon cablin (nilam plant) has been conducted at the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, Agricultural Faculty, University of Jambi from January through to July 2004. Callus proliferation was induced on explants taken from young shoots cultured on solid MS medium supplemented with phytohormones NAA (0.8, 1.1, 1.4, and 1.7 ppm) and BAP (1.1, 1.4, 1.7, and 2.0 ppm) under in vitro conditions. Influence of Connection Placement to the Behavior of Precast Concrete Exterior Beam-Column Joint. This paper presents an experimental study on the influence of connection placement to the behaviour of exterior beamcolumn joint of precast concrete structure under semi cyclic loading. Four half-scale beam-column specimens were investigated. Three beam-columns were jointed through connection that are placed in beam-column joint region and the forth is connected at the plastic hinge potensial region of the beam. Crack patterns, strength, stiffness and ductility of the test specimens have been evaluated. The test result indicated that all beam-column specimens show good ductility behavior.
