Supersymmetric Exploration Of External Field Effects On Spinning Cosmic Strings With Aharonov–Bohm Interaction, Bi̇lgehan Bariş Öner, Özlem Yeşi̇ltaş

Turkish Journal of Physics

We have conducted a supersymmetric analysis of the spacetime of a spinning cosmic string, focusing on the behavior of an electron in magnetic fields. Our study involves examining the Dirac system through the lens of exceptional orthogonal polynomials, specifically the exceptional orthogonal Laguerre $X_{m}$ polynomials. This analysis transforms the Dirac system into a relativistic system with a nonlinear isotonic oscillator. Additionally, we introduce new potential models that extend the radial oscillator by incorporating rational terms. Comprehensive analyses of the potential, energy levels, and probability density graphs are provided for various topological defects of cosmic strings and different parameters of the …

Optimizing Parameters For Efficient Computation With Fully Homomorphic Encryption Schemes, Cavi̇dan Yakupoğlu Karaağaç, Kurt Rohloff Mar 2025

Optimizing Parameters For Efficient Computation With Fully Homomorphic Encryption Schemes, Cavi̇dan Yakupoğlu Karaağaç, Kurt Rohloff

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

In this study, we aim to provide a parameter selection approach for the BFVrns scheme, one of the prominent fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) schemes. Selecting parameters for lattice-based FHE schemes poses a practical challenge for both experts and nonexperts. To solve this problem, we introduce a hybrid approach that combines theoretical approach with experimental analysis. First, we employ regression analysis to examine the impact of parameters on both performance and security. The varying behavior of FHE parameters in terms of performance, security, and ciphertext expansion factor (CEF) makes parameter selection more challenging. To address this issue, we employ a multi-objective …

Decomposition Lstm With Dual Multi-Head Self-Attention For Wind Turbine Drivetrain State Forecasting, Haikun Jia, Huini Sun, Shuang Bai

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Due to the clean and renewable nature of wind energy, accurate prediction of rotor loads and operating states for wind turbine units has become of paramount importance. Currently, traditional methods relying on expert analysis combined with instrument testing for qualitative reasoning are both time-consuming and labor-intensive, and their accuracy guarantees are limited. In response to wind farm data entailing the interweaving of data from multiple sources and the diverse interrelations across various features and time steps, this study introduces a method for predicting rotor loads and operating states. Initially, we employ an iterative multi-scale seasonal-trend decomposition block to capture latent …

Fuzzy-Virtual Inertia Control To Improve The Frequency Response Of Multi-Area Power Systems, Nourelhouda Djaraf, Yacine Daili, Abderrahim Zemmit, Abdelghani Harrag

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Virtual inertia control (VIC) is essential for power systems dominated by electronic devices to compensate for the lack of inertia and ensure frequency regulation. However, most existing VICs often focus solely on optimizing the virtual inertia parameter to adapt to the high penetration of renewable energy sources (RESs) without considering the damping factor. This oversight can lead to significant fluctuations and power mismatches, especially in interconnected systems where the coordination between MGs is sensitive and essential, and there is a risk of propagation of deviations between MGs, which makes the control more complex. To address these issues, this paper presents …

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Video prediction is a significant and actively researched area within the data science community. Its primary objective is to generate future video frames based on historical frames, finding applications in diverse domains such as human motion prediction, climate change analysis, and traffic flow forecasting. Traditional methods combine Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) to capture complex correlations in spatial-temporal signals. Recent methods improve video prediction accuracy by introducing external information such as optical flow, semantic maps, and human pose data. However, these methods have limitations, such as not fully exploring the intermediate states of learning representations, overlooking …

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

The growing interest in Conversational AI has led to the development of Conversational OpenQA systems as a crucial step for meeting users' information needs in real world scenarios. Conversational OpenQA systems enhance standard OpenQA performance by leveraging conversation history of the users. However, building effective Conversational OpenQA systems requires large-scale Conversational OpenQA datasets, often limited to the English language, hindering progress in low-resource languages. We present a robust Conversational OpenQA system enhanced by conversational context, designed for languages with limited resources and exemplified in our case study for Turkish. To address data limitations in a cost-effective way, we repurpose existing …

Alternative Stones And Cleaning Efficiencies For Historical Building Stones Used In İstanbul (Türkiye), Ömer Ündül, Tuğçe Erözmen, Namik Aysal, Ahmet Güleç

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Historical buildings are important part of the common heritage of mankind. İstanbul comprises many historical buildings built by geo-materials. A limestone (named as Küfeki stone in the region) is one of the most widely used stone in and around the city since thousands of years. The durability, excavability and workability of the stone attract the usage of this stone. Besides the outcrops of the rock were very common. Unfortunately, nowadays quarries and outcrops of Küfeki stone are totally abandoned due to dense settlement. For this reason, replacement of damaged or polluted stone with the original stone is a hard task …

Northeast Anatolian Obsidians: Preliminary Results, Tülay Bak, Ufuk Celal Yağcioğlu, Cüneyt Şen, Fatma Şi̇şman Tükel

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Obsidian, whose physical properties are suitable for making cutting tools, was one of the most basic commodities traded in prehistoric times. Obsidian, not found everywhere and with its unique chemical composition, is often used to create maps of prehistoric migration and trade routes. There are many important obsidian sources in Anatolia. These sources were utilised in the prehistoric period. One of the most important challenges facing archaeologists is identifying the source area of the raw materials used to create obsidian stone tools in prehistoric settlements. The geochemical properties of the obsidian from Northeastern Anatolia are less well known than those …

A Case Study Of Gray-Box Fuzzing With Byte- And Tree-Level Mutation Strategies In Xml-Based Applications For Exposing Security Vulnerabilities, Şerafetti̇n Şentürk, Vahi̇d Garousi, Nejat Yumuşak

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Fuzzing is an automated process for detecting crashes and vulnerabilities in software system and it is classified as grammar- or mutation-based in terms of input generation. While the grammar-based fuzzing generates inputs from a specification and takes highly-structured inputs, mutation-based fuzzing generates inputs by modifying input files and abstract syntax trees randomly. There are not many case studies comparing the crash detection capabilities in the scope of mutation-based fuzzing. To add to the body of empirical evidence in this area, this case study compares fuzzing with different mutation strategies to evaluate their effectiveness in three aspects: fault detection effectiveness, fault …

Did Raja Asterias Ever Occur In The Sea Of Marmara Or Were Previous Records Just Cases Of Misidentified Raja Clavata?, Hakan Kabasakal, Uğur Uzer, Fi̇rdes Saadet Karakulak

Turkish Journal of Zoology

The current inventories of elasmobranchs in the Sea of Marmara have some taxonomic problems that need to be solved. One problematic species in the elasmobranch fauna of the region is Raja clavata Linnaeus, 1758, and atypically coloured specimens of this skate species may have been misidentified in the past as congeners or closely related species. The present results show that R. asterias may be a misidentified species of the family Rajidae due to confusion with the atypically coloured R. clavata. As taxonomy is central to the integration of data sources in the context of biodiversity research and management of any …

Biquandle Power Brackets Of Oriented Links, Nesli̇han Gügümcü, Sam Nelson Mar 2025

Biquandle Power Brackets Of Oriented Links, Nesli̇han Gügümcü, Sam Nelson

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper, we introduce biquandle power brackets, an infinite family of invariants of oriented links containing the classical skein invariants and the quandle and biquandle 2-cocycle invariants as special cases. Biquandle power brackets are generalizations of biquandle brackets in which the values of Kauffman states also depend on the biquandle colors they admit. We provide example computations and discuss the relationship between these new invariants and the previous cases.

Order Structure Of Order-To-Topological Continuous Operator, Gül Si̇nem Keleş, Bahri̇ Turan, Bi̇rol Altin Mar 2025

Order Structure Of Order-To-Topological Continuous Operator, Gül Si̇nem Keleş, Bahri̇ Turan, Bi̇rol Altin

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Let J be a vector lattice, and W be a topological vector space. An operator K: J → W is called an order-to-topological continuous operator if uα → 0 in J implies K(uα) → 0 in W for each net (uα) in J. In this study, we examine the order structure of the space of order-to-topological continuous operators in general and the order structure of order-to-norm continuous operators in particular. We study the relationships between order-to-topology continuous operators and other classes of operators, such as order weakly compact and order continuous operators. Moreover, we give …

Fractional Equivalent Of Fourth-Order Laguerre And Chebyshev Polynomials, Zahra Kavousi, Kazem Ghanbari

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Orthogonal polynomials have very useful properties in the solution of mathematical and physical problems. In the last few years, there has been considerable interest in the properties of orthogonal polynomials satisfying differential equations (DE) of order greater than two, their connection to singular boundary value problems, their generalizations, and their classification as solutions of second-order DE. In this paper, we develop a fractional analog of the fourth-order Laguerre differential equation on the interval [0, ∞) and, in addition, we develop a fractional analog of the fourth-order Chebyshev differential equation on a symmetric interval [−α, α], where α is the order …

Continuous Dependence Of Thermoelasticity Problem, Müge Meyvaci, Şevket Gür Mar 2025

Continuous Dependence Of Thermoelasticity Problem, Müge Meyvaci, Şevket Gür

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

The current study considers the initial boundary value problem for the thermoelastic model. The model in which heat conduction is given by Green and Naghdi's theory is called Type II. It is increasingly accepted that studying the structural stability of the initial boundary value problem is crucial. This is because even minor changes in the equation or its coefficients can lead to significant variations in the solution of the problem. From this point of view, we analyze the structural stability of the solutions, specifically examining the continuous dependence of the solutions on all the coefficients of the thermoelastic system, using …

A Note On A Novel Type Of Alster Covering Property In Bitopological Setting, Necati̇ Can Açikgöz, Ceren Sultan Elmali

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper, we introduce a new type of Alster covering property in bitopological setting. We investigate its relations with other existing covering properties. By giving counterexamples, we indicate that our new property is different than other mentioned properties. We also construct some conditions for equivalences of those properties with the corresponding property. We also consider the preservation of this new form of bitopological Alster covering property. We investigate the productivity of bitopological nearly Lindelöfness and bitopological nearly Mengerness.

Improving Upper Bounds Of Berezin Number Inequalities Using Convex Function, Sana Khan, Mehmet Gürdal, Muhammad Saeed Akram

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this research article, new upper bounds are established for the Berezin number of bounded linear operators within the context of functional Hilbert space using the convex function. These bounds are achieved by exploiting an extension of Furuta's inequality and an extension of Kato's inequality. These Berezin number bounds are refinements of already existing bounds found in the literature.
