The aim of this research was to create various microsatellite paternity test panels that are efficient, cost-effective, simple, and accessible for paternity assessments within the Eşme sheep breed in Western Anatolia. The study included 2432 animals from sixteen farms, consisting of 147 rams and 2285 lambs. 17 microsatellite markers were utilized in the study to develop these test panels, prioritizing markers with high polymorphic information content (PIC) and probability of exclusion (PE) values. Cow behavior is a crucial indicator for monitoring health, reproductive status, and welfare in livestock management. However, methods that rely on wearable devices often face significant challenges, including high costs, maintenance difficulties, and potential impacts on animal welfare. To address these limitations, this study explored the potential of using YOLOv8, a cutting-edge computer vision model, for non-invasive monitoring of cow behavior. The research methodology involved four key steps: data collection, preliminary data processing, model training, and validation. The aim of this study was to investigate the acaricidal efficacy, tolerability of the target species and residue levels of a thymol-containing gelatin-based hydrogel developed as a controlled release system for varroosis control. The study was carried out on naturally infested honey bee colonies and compared with those of the negative control and positive control groups. The acaricidal efficacy (%) of the negative control, positive control and hydrogel was 21.93 ± 2.87, 81.09 ± 2.30 and 70.32 ± 2.05, respectively. This study compiled data on the distribution of sponge species on the coasts of Türkiye. The checklist consists of 183 speciesbelonging to 52 families, 16 orders, and 3 classes. The orders Haplosclerida (32 species), Poecilosclerida (28 species), Tetractinellida (26species), Dictyoceratida (21 species), and Suberitida (18 species) have the highest numbers of species found in the region. The Aegeancoast has the highest number of sponge species (155 species), followed by the Sea of Marmara (84 species), the Levantine coast (50species), and the Black Sea coast (24 species). The compilation of papers on the phyla Cnidaria and Ctenophora inhabiting the coasts of Türkiye (Black Sea, Sea of Marmara,Aegean Sea, and Levantine Sea) together with the new records of cnidarian species presented in this study yielded 296 cnidarian and8 ctenophore species. Among the cnidarian groups, Hydrozoa were represented by 160 species, Scyphozoa by 16 species, Anthozoa by87 species, and Myxozoa by 31 species. The compilation of scientific papers dealing with marine annelids (including Sipuncula) along the coasts of Türkiye (Black Sea, Sea of Marmara, Aegean Sea and Levantine Sea) together with the new records of polychaete species (22 species) presented in this study resulted in 827 species belonging to 63 families. Polychaeta were represented by 782 species, Sipuncula by 21 species, Oligochaeta by 18 species, Hirudinea by 5 species and Echiura by 1 species. The Turkish marine fish diversity was revised and updated in this study based on data published in the last decade. There arecurrently 552 species in the inventory, reflecting an increase of 7.8% since the previous checklist and belonging to the classes of Teleostei(479 spp.), Elasmobranchii (68 spp.), Chondrostei (3 spp.), Petromyzonti (1 sp.), and Holocephali (1 sp.). The current status of bryozoan species distributed along the coast of Türkiye were revised and an updated checklist including 185 species (24 cyclostomatids, 20 ctenostomatids and 141 cheilostomatids) was presented. Cheilostomes largely prevail (141 species, 87 genera and 50 families) followed by cyclostomes (24 species, 15 genera and 9 families) and ctenostomes (20 species, 9 genera and 8 families) in bryozoan fauna of Türkiye. The distribution of species and genera highlights the Aegean Sea as the most diverse, hosting 146 species. Corylus heterophylla, the majestic hazelnut tree, stands as one of the esteemed quartet of grand nuts reigning across the landscapes of temperate Asia, Europe, and North America. But its relationship with endophytic fungi remains thinly explored. This study successfully identified a new species designated as Nigrospora coryli through conjoint analysis of morphology and systematics. The genetic regions examined encompassed ITS, TUB2, and TEF1-α.The detailed morphological description, colour photographs of Macro- and microcharacters are presented.

The medicinal properties of narcissus plants are attributed to the presence of Amaryllidaceae alkaloids. Elicitors, such as nanoparticles, are employed to enhance the production of secondary metabolites through signaling and the generation of reactive oxygen species. We investigated the effects of Fe3 O4 nanoparticles (Fe3 O4 -NPs), trans-cinnamic acid (tCA), and L-phenylalanine (L-Phe) precursors on various physiological and biochemical parameters in Narcissus tazetta L., with a particular focus on alkaloid content. Cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channel (CNGC) is one of the important calcium conducting channels and involves in numerous biological functions such as plant development, phytohormone responses, plant-pathogen interactions. Nevertheless, identification of CNGC gene family has yet not been carried out in date palm crop. In this study, genome-wide identification, and pharmacological analysis of date CNGCs was conducted against fungal pathogens. The 26 PdCNGC genes were identified by using extensive bioinformatics tools. This study evaluates the biosorption ability of chitin derived from a specific spider species namely Drassodes lapidosus (Walckenaer, 1802) belongs to Gnaphosidae family. The obtained chitin was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. We studied the daily activity patterns of Dinarolacerta rock lizards, endemic to the Dinaric mountains of the Western Balkans, during the summer season. The study was conducted in Montenegro at four sites for D. mosorensis and three sites for D. montenegrina. The air temperature at which the lizards were observed varied significantly both within and between species and decreased with altitude, while the temperature of the rocky ground was more stable and higher than air temperature at each study site. This research employed stable isotope analysis to investigate the migratory patterns and geographic origins of the Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae) and its associated prey species within the Galite Archipelago, Tunisia. Feathers collected from both juvenile and adult falcons, along with their prey, were analysed for deuterium isotopic composition using the "Isorix" package in R, which facilitated the geographic assignment based on stable isotope ratios. The results demonstrated no significant difference in deuterium values (δ2H) between adult and juvenile falcons, indicating a lack of geographical variation in moulting locations among the different age groups. Dietary Observations Of Adult Pleurodema Nebulosum (Anura: Leptodactylidae) From Argentina, Gabriel Natalio Castillo, Cynthia J. González- Rivas

This study is the first to examine the diet composition of adult Pleurodema nebulosum specimens based on an analysis of the gastrointestinal contents of 78 individuals. Analyzed herein were 40 specimens from a site disturbed due to anthropogenic action and 38 from a protected area in Argentina. Differences were found in the trophic consumption at both sites. In the protected area, P. nebulosum presented an active foraging mode, with a diet specialized in prey items from the Formicidae family.
