Unveiling The Physical Interaction Between Gsnor1 And Trx-H Isoforms, Anika Tabassum, Gary J. Loake
Turkish Journal of Botany
This study aims to investigate any possible interaction between two highly conserved regulators of cellular SNO levels: S-nitrosoglutathione reductase (GSNOR1) and thioredoxin (TRX). These two enzymes control global S-nitrosylation levels and thus impact the cellular redox state during immune responses. A mutant line (Δtrx1trx2sfa1) of Saccharomyces cerevisiae MaV203 strain was generated to explore this possibility rather than using a classical strain. We identified and characterized the physical interaction between GSNOR1 and Arabidopsis cytosolic h isoforms in a yeast two-hybrid screen. Out of the seven TRX isoforms, AtGSNOR1 displayed a high interaction with AtTRXh3, AtTRXh4, and AtTRXh5 (AtTRXh5>AtTRXh4 & AtTRXh3). …

Lancret-Type Results For A New Family Of Curves In Minkowski 3-Space, Héctor Guerrero Mora, Willy Sierra
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this article, using the concept of a Killing vector field along a curve, we extend certain results concerning a family of curves—previously studied in three-dimensional Euclidean space—to the setting of three-dimensional Minkowski space. Depending on the causal character of the curve, we derive Lancret-type results that establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of this family in three-dimensional Minkowski space. We determine the intrinsic equation of this family in three cases: (i) when the curve is nonnull with a nonnull acceleration vector, (ii) when the curve is spacelike with a null acceleration vector, and (iii) when the …

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a potent nonradical oxidant involved in various physiological processes, particularly within the human immune system. In this study, we introduce a novel, rapid, and highly efficient fluorometric method for the detection of HOCl. The method utilizes a near-infrared (NIR)-based fluorescent probe, NIR-QBH, which is characterized by its high sensitivity and chemical stability. NIR-QBH, containing olefinic C=C bonds, exhibits strong NIR emission at 660 nm (λex = 618 nm). The detection mechanism relies on the oxidation of the C=C bond in the NIR-QBH structure by HOCl, resulting in the formation of non-fluorescent products. With a detection limit …
