Turkish Journal of Chemistry
The Cl replacement reactions of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (trimer; N3 P3 Cl6) with sodium (N-benzyl)- aminopropanoxides (1 and 2) produced monospiro- (3 and 4), cis-, and trans-dispirocyclotriphosphazenes (13-16). The monospiro tetrakis-aminocyclotriphosphazenes (5-12) were obtained by the Cl substitutions of 3 and 4 with different secondary amines. The cis- (13 and 14) and trans-dispirophosphazenes (15 and 16) possessed 2 chiral P centers, and they were able to present meso and racemic forms, respectively. Moreover, the structures of compounds 5 and 14 were designated using X-ray data. The absolute configuration of compound 14 was found as SR in the solid state. Analytical and spectroscopic …

Novel Bodipy-Bridged Cyclotriphosphazenes, Hande Eserci̇, Ezel Öztürk, Eli̇f Okutan
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
Three new 2-component unsubstituted (4P), diiodo- (5P), and dibromo- (6P) distyryl-BODIPY-bridged cyclotriphosphazene dimers were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized BODIPY-cyclotriphosphazene systems were characterized by $^{1}$H, $^{13}$C, and $^{31}$P NMR spectroscopy. The photophysical properties of the distryl-BODIPYs (4-6) and BODIPY-cyclotriphosphazene dyads (4P-6P) were studied by UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence emission spectroscopy. In these derivatives, the bino-type cyclotriphosphazene derivative bearing unsubstituted BODIPY unit 4 P exhibited high fluorescence and no singlet oxygen generation due to the lack of spin converter. The attachment of heavy atoms (iodine and bromine) enabled the production of singlet oxygen. The bino-type BODIPY-cyclotriphosphazenes (5P and 6P) were …

Synthesis Of Metallo-Supramolecular Materials Based On Terpyridine Functionalized Double-Decker Silsesquioxane With Improved Complexation Efficienc, Asuman Çeli̇k Küçük, Jun Matsui, Tokuji Miyashita
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
Silsesquioxane-based transition-metal complexes have come to the forefront due to the ability of silsesquioxane to control nanostructures and properties. However, some difficulties in complete complexation and purification limit the widespread use of transition-metal-based supramolecular coordination complexes comprising silsesquioxane. Herein, 2 different approaches have been proposed for the synthesis of metallo-supramolecular materials on the basis of ruthenium(II)-terpyridine functional double-layer silsesquioxane (DDSQ) (Tpy/Ru-DDSQ) (Routes 1 and 2). In Route 1, complexation was followed by functionalization of DDSQ with the ligand, whereas in Route 2, complexation was performed before the ligand was inserted into the DDSQ. Tpy/Ru-DDSQ obtained from both approaches was characterized …

An extraction method was tested for biomonitoring the biofilm samples containing heavy metals. The fractionation of metal complexes was performed via C-18-HPLC-ICP-MS and MALDI-MS, respectively. The extraction power of some reagents was determined for the heavy metal extraction from biofilm samples collected in Erdemli coast in the Mediterranean Sea. The ammonium acetate solution giving the highest extraction results was found as a suitable extraction reagent. The concentration and pH of the ammonium acetate solution were optimized and found as 1 M and 5, respectively. The chromatograms of metal complexes with the C-18-HPLC-ICP-MS system were taken to determine the effect of …
