Background/aim: Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA) have essential markers for the diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). These autoantibodies are detecting different laboratory methods. In this study, we studied the diagnostic performance of used methods in detecting ANA and AMA. Background/aim: Nicotine acts as an agonist of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR). These receptors belong to a superfamily of ligand-gated ion channels. Background/aim: Our study investigated the susceptibility rate of ceftazidime-avibactam and the risk factors associated with its resistance by analyzing gram-negative bacteria isolated from various patient samples. Materials and methods: Between March and November 2020, 1119 gram-negative bacteria strains were isolated from patient samples in Acıbadem Healthcare Group hospitals; ceftazidime-avibactam susceptibility results were evaluated using a 10/4µg (Oxoid, UK) disc and evaluated according to Eucast 2020 recommendations. The aim of the present study was to reveal the DCE-MRI findings and to determine the correlation between these findings and immunohistochemical data in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Background/aim: Next generation sequencing provides new information about the molecular pathogenesis of cancer. We used a targeted NGS-based multiple gene panel comprising prostate cancer (PCa) predisposing genes to assess the prevalence of germline mutations in PCa patients. Background/aim: To investigate the potential role of computed tomography (CT) histogram analysis in differentiating cholesteatoma (CHS) and non-cholesteatoma (NCHS). Materials and methods: We evaluated 77 temporal bone CT images (from November 2016 to February 2020) that were obtained pre- operatively (mean age, 37.10±17.27 years in CHS; 36.72±16.08 years in NCHS group). Background/aim: This study aimed to investigate pregnancy frequency and evaluate the factors affecting live births in hemodialysis (HD) patients. Materials and methods: Female HD patients whose pregnancy was retrospectively reported between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2019. The duration of HD, primary disease, and the information on whether the pregnancy resulted in abortion, stillbirth, or live birth, whether the HD duration was prolonged after diagnosing the pregnancy and whether it accompanied preeclampsia were recorded. Background/aim: Convalescent plasma (CP) might be an additional treatment modality in COVID-19. The aim of this study was to compare CP-related clinical characteristics and perinatal outcomes in pregnant women with mild or moderate-severe COVID-19. Materials and methods: This prospective cohort study included 36 pregnant women (12 mild and 24 moderate-severe), who underwent CP therapy.
