Actinidia deliciosa (A. Chev.) C.F. Liang & A.R& Ferguson, 1984 contains a large number of target analytes, which are biologically active compounds. HPLC-ion trap-MS/MS (tandem mass spectrometry) was used to identify target analytes in extracts of A. deliciosa (varieties Abbot, Alison, Bruno, Hayward, Monti), originating from the Adler's Branch of N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources. Separately, the pulp of the kiwi fruit and its peel were analyzed for the composition of biologically active substances. Clonal selection in viticulture is based on genetic variability with the aim of creating superior plants (clones) that enable more economical production. The Riesling variety, with a long tradition of cultivation, has been the subject of extensive clonal selection and clones 49, 1089 and 1091 were created in France. During the two-year period (2016-2017), the productivity and oenological potential of Riesling clones 49, 1089 and 1091 in the agroclimatic conditions of Bosnia and Herzegovina were conducted. Effect Of Postharvest Spermidine Treatments On Quality And Biochemical Properties Of Nectarine Fruits, Erdal Orman

In this study, the effect of spermidine (SP) treatments at different doses after harvest on the changes in the pomological and biochemical contents of nectarine fruits was determined. The fruits were placed in cold storage (4 ± 0.5 °C and 90 ± 5% RH) for 30 days. Specific organic acids and phenolic compounds from biochemical compounds were analyzed by HPLC device. Weight loss and decay values, which are quality criteria of nectarine fruits, increased during storage compared to the harvest period. Antioxidant, Antidiabetic, And Antihypertensive Effects Of Peptides From Some Quercus Species, Muhammed Yusuf Çağlar, Muhammet Arici

In the present study, the antihypertensive, antidiabetic, and antioxidant properties of oak peptides were determined in vitro. For this purpose, samples from most common oak species (Quercus coccifera, Quercus ilex, and Quercus cerris) were collected, the proteins were extracted and the bioactive properties of 48 different peptide fractions were monitored using a fast protein liquid chromatography. The results showed that acorn peptides had no remarkable antioxidant or antihypertensive effects. Comparing the bioactive peptides of all oak species, the peptides of Q. coccifera generally had higher DPP-IV inhibition activity than those of Q. cerris and Q. ilex. …

Selecting seeds with high vigour eminently affects initial plant growth and determines plant stand. Various tests including electrical conductivity (EC), radicle emergence counts (RE), and standard germination (SG) tests were used to assess the vigour of eleven lentils (Lens culinaris L.) seed lots. Lentil seed lots with over 75% normal germination, were germinated with the use of an ISTA standard germination test. The radicle emergence (2 mm) was tallied at constant intervals from 24-120 h. The present investigation was done to evaluate genetic variability and estimation of genetic parameters of morphological and agro-physiological traits in Camelina sativa (L.) using biometrical genetic techniques. For this purpose, 136 Camelina doubled haploid line genotypes were assessed in a randomized complete blocks design with three replicates in the Field Research, Razi University, Kermanshah, Iran, during the 2014-2015 cropping season. As the area planted with kiwifruit continues to expand, monoculture continuous cropping is gradually becoming the main mode of its production. However, current kiwifruit soils suffer from nutrient deficiencies and increased toxicity of their own, which are harmful to their yield and quality. The study proposes a kiwifruit-maize intercrop as a starting point for adjusting the cropping pattern. The requirement to boost the resolution of nanopore-based biosequencing devices necessitates the integration of novel biosensing techniques with reduced sensitivity to background noise. In this article, we probe the signatures of translocating polymers in magnetic fields induced by ionic currents through membrane nanopores. Within the framework of a previously introduced charge transport theory, we evaluate the magnetic field signals generated by voltage- and pressure-driven DNA translocation events in monovalent salt solutions. Our formalism reveals that in voltage-driven transport, the translocating polymer suppresses the induced magnetic field via the steric blockage of the ion current through the midpore. In the case …

Perfect absorbers have received significant attention due to their tunable and extraordinary absorptive behaviour of light at selected wavelenghts. Such absorption can be achieved by the means of nanostructured materials with various types of flexibility. Despite these advantages nanofabrication is a challenging process. The effects of feeding in different quality rangelands on meat quality and fatty acids composition in Angora goat kids and bucks were determined. Twenty male Angora goat kids were selected from each farm that produces Angora goats in the area. There are three separate rangelands with previously determined quality classes (good, medium, and low-quality). In each farm, among these animals grazed completely on the rangeland, 7 heads from 4-month-old kids and 7 heads from 7-month-old bucks were selected and slaughtered. Background/aim: We compared long-term outcomes after kidney transplantation (KTx) in patients with and without congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT). Materials and methods: KTx recipients (KTRs) with CAKUT in 1980-2016 were identified; their hard copy and electronic medical records were reviewed and compared to a propensity-score-matched control group (non-CAKUT) from the same period. The primary outcomes were graft loss or death with a functioning graft; secondary outcomes included posttransplant urinary tract infections (UTIs) and biopsy-proven rejection (BPR). Background/aim: To describe the disease activity and retention rate in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with inadequate response (IR) to conventional synthetic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (csDMARDs) and/or tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFis) who were prescribed tocilizumab (TCZ) as first-line or second-line biologic treatment in real-world setting. Materials and methods: Data gathered from patients' files was used in a multicenter and retrospective context. Background/aim: To investigate the impact of smoking on disease activity, treatment retention, and response in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) treated with their first tumor necrosis factor-α inhibitor (TNFi). Materials and methods: AS patients who started their first TNFi treatment for the active axial disease (BASDAI ≥ 4) from TURKBIO Registry were included. Treatment response of smoker (current and ex-smokers) and nonsmoker (never smoker) patients were primarily evaluated as achievement of BASDAI50 or improvement in BASDAI at least 20 mm at 3 months and 6 months compared to baseline.
